I've been following the channel for a while now, don't put yourself down, Mr Donnie! You are honestly brilliant, understanding CAD at any level to teach yourself is incredibly impressive 😎🍻 I'm still learning 🤣
Amazing seeing you guys finally giving love to other software! As a sales manager of solidcam, theres no greater seal of approval, than having #Donniehinske praise the software foe what it actuslly is, pretty god damn good!🎉 Thanks to all of #TITANSofCNC for this video, cant wait for the future videos! 😊
I saw you guys partnering with solidcam a few weeks ago, and was surprised yall havent made any annoucements. Super cool as i just purchased a license for my swiss. Cant wait to see the swiss academy with solidcam!
After programming on Fusion 360 for a year I switched up to Solid CAM, it was relatively simple and didn't take me long (tried it for a week) then I switched up again to Mastercam, boy oh boy, that took me a couple of days to figure out how to create stock and WCS, then around a week to understand how to set the operations so that I'd get my desired toolpath.
A bunch of our guys have experience with Esprit … we chose Solidcam for a bunch of reasons… one is mentioned by Donnie in the video… Ease of use. They also have an education version so all can learn.
Looking forward to Solidcam tutorials. Long time Mastercam user forced to switch at current employer. Nothing but issues can't get round holes, iMachining absolutely sucks, cutting taper all over the place. Seems like it takes at least 4 spring passes to get any kind of tolerance. Used other software in the past esprit and siemens nx. Seems deeply tied to solid works and the quirks really bit solid cam in the ass when you get crummy step files. Solidcams you tube training absolutely sucks. Really looking forward to learning this software correctly. Thanks.@@TITANSofCNC
First of all I salute your work , all video even all step to operation which are you showing in your video is teach me new method. I also doing work in solid cam but I am not deeply knowledge of the solid cam. Can you make a series of the solidcam tutorial. And can you teach how to machine define. And at the last is your video is very awesome. Boom 💥💥💥
Thanks as I'm sort-of looking for a program that I can use to run a milling machine that won't break the bank. I was using one that started off low cost but now has ballooned into a monster and I simply can't afford it anymore that cost is yearly to have the program. That per year cost or you get shut down sucks as if you have a bad year then your out.
If you had a repeat simple aluminum standoff job in the shop. Say every month of the 1000pcs and only needed 5 to 6 tools would you run it on the 32 or just leave in the cnc lathe area to be done. Takes 9pcs @ 12'. Plus, you have 2 other parts similar @ 500pcs per month. Different lengths but use the same tools & material.
the chipbreakers on a pcd insert are formed with a laser. they are the ultimate for aluminum. zero built up edge, very repeatable finish, last forever.
Don’t mean to be a prude Donnie, but Gibbscam cam will also allow you to manually move the machine components around during machine simulation. However, Gibbs will not allow you to label a fixture component for the first Op vs the second Op. The best work around is creating a second file or doing the second op in a different CS from your first op, some distance away. This is where I think solidcam has a solid edge over Gibbs. Not to mention that solidcam post are open so anyone can edit them. Perfect for someone like me who has trust issues when it comes to my code.
One thing on speedwe spindles is that it cuts the torque available by the same ratio as it increases the speed. Nothing bis free. Gain speed and lose torque.
I'm trying to be a good programer on NX because I studied that program and I'm working with it but, I see no one useing it, WHY? Is that bad? I don't understand it
Everyone knows Donnie is actually an Esprit user, (only had to use solidcam as they paid titan to use it). Why would anyone want to buy a CAD system to then run a CAM bolt on. Will be replaced by the 3dexperiance soon anyway.
The best part of my job is the respect Titan gives me for allowing me to pick and choose the products we show for swiss. Not anyone can walk in here and get their products shown on our channel. SolidCam came out a month ago and gave me just a few hours of their time and I was actually blown away at what they can do. I have ZERO acting experience. If I am excited about a product on our channel it is genuine! Not trying to come at you aggressively or anything. In time you will see why Titan and I went with them for our swiss solution!
3D experience won’t replace Solidworks, it’s more like an addendum to SolidWorks and is being marketed as a low cost all in one MRP/ERP suite. It’s more in line to compete with Siemens ZelX, and auto desks Fusion. These are not in same ballpark as dedicated CAD systems like Pro-E, NX, or AutoCAD. It also makes perfect sense to integrate CAM directly into the CAD system. It lets the CAM software use the CAD geometry engine for bodies and surfaces and lets that side of the software handle the model calculations, leaving the CAM software dedicated to toolpath calculations. It lets the cad model drive the cam paths directly, so any model changes will automatically update CAM paths (within reason) as the CAM paths are directly linked to the solid model feature tags. This makes it very quick and easy to simultaneously make model and machining changes without have to re-do the CAM.
just got to let you know that I hate that outro, the word STUPID seems very offensive to me and eaven If I love your vids I have to click out every time before the end. Just my opinion please feel free to ignore it. thank you for all the content.
@@TITANSofCNC Mastercam in not bette then Solidcam, they are different . solidcam is easier to use and learn and in the last two years they came with incredible new stuff that make it very powerful . Mastercam is not progressing in the same pase.
This was such a fun video to make! So much fun to use the worlds best technologies and learn how they work!
Good job like always Donnie!
That's amazing Donnie! It's the coolest to watch too😍

Thanks man!

Titan broke a finger every time Donnie got a line of code wrong. It's how he creates such amazing CNC programmers.
I don’t have 2,000 fingers 😂
No but you can break a finger more than once!@@donniehinske
@@mgk1397 don't give him any ideas!!!!
Story time with Donnie? Safety video when?
So glad yall finally using solidcam, i hope yall do training with it for milling and turning we been a long time solidcam user 10+ years
Yes, it’s coming
Try to put I Machining from solidCam it's 😅😅
You guys should definitely add solidcam tutorials for all of yours academy videos
It’s exciting to see SolidCAM being showcased. I hope to seeing more software tips and tricks in the near future. 🙂
Now only if he hadn't talked me into GibbsCAM before moving on...
Solid introduction to SolidCAM! Can't wait to see what we program next!
Donnie is incredibly talented 💯
Great video legend

Good video Donnie Looking forward to seeing your upcoming swiss projects!
Please make a detailed video how to use solidcam for swisstype.. i would love you for that!!! You ruuuule:D
i want more SolidCAM videos pls
Donnie the Swiss wizard, SolidCAM is looking legit!!

SolidCAM looks legit. Especially how easy Operation Sequence Manager looks like.
A great partnership!
You & Donnie Yen share something together? Great acting & kick azz skills , Titans of CNC deserve 2mill Subs

Great video! I’m excited to learn more about SolidCAM
Great vide Donnie, always learn something interesting, even been machining on swiss cncs for some time
Put video for SolidCAM IMACHINING

Esprit is awesome for Swiss machines. The posts for the Citizen line up of machines is as solid as I've even seen.

What is the main benefit of PCD over carbide inserts?
PCD inserts on aluminum will last WAY longer than carbide and make it really easy to get a good finish
Amazing technology! SolidCAM is the best CAM solution.
SolidCAM sounds very nice.
Software so fast its like going back in time to something that's feels like the 2010s area.
I would have enjoyed the part being made the whole cycle.

Great video! Have you considered trying out CAM Assist?
Did you have to manually draw the machine into solidcam?
No solidcam gets the 3d model of the machine from eg. Tornos and implements it.
I haven't used SolidCAM in 20 years!
What do you use then ?
SolidCam looks impressive coming from a different CAM user
Hasn’t Catia (Solid Works professional version) had CAM since the 80’s?
yes, this solidcam is the best solution for swiss type machines
Please what's the software you are using ?
so are you guys switching from Mastercam to Solidcam?
No, just in Swiss as it was the best solution we found
ESPRIT is actually far superior.
SolidCAMs multi-channel synchronization (3+ channels is no problem) makes it superior to ESPRIT.
That PTSD at 7:20 😂 No, really cool video on the simulation, Donnie.
the chipbreakers on a pcd insert are formed with a laser. they are the ultimate for aluminum. zero built up edge, very repeatable finish, last forever.
Would love a comparison video with Autodesk Fusion 360
maybe l'm stupid but there isn't any content on the academy for solidCAM yet is there?

these guys can do anything....even transform a laptop into a large pc monitor :) @3:58
Good catch😅🪄
I noticed it too 😂 Impressive!🤣

I'm trying to be a good programer on NX because I studied that program and I'm working with it but, I see no one useing it, WHY? Is that bad? I don't understand it
It’s a convoluted software by comparison an it’s quite expensive for what it is.
People are waiting on part 2 from the 2200 pound fixturing video…When will we see that?
Im running it currently! Prepare for GLORY!
How come you are ditching Kennametal and Autodesk?
MasterCAM is going bye bye?
My shop needs that software for our Eurotech B438y2. Mastercam sucks
Muito bom !
SolidCAM is the best CAM software I have used!
I detest neat cutting oil. it gives me nightmares and flashbacks. quick change tools or not, no thank you, the Swiss can keep the Swiss lathes :p
It's impossible to talk so much! Dude, how do you do that? My wife doesn't even talk that much in a week)))

Hi
hahaha "Dont be stupid".
Eff that cutting and pasting. Takes me 8 hrs to make program for part i make manually in 3 hrs. Yeah cnc cutting part total 40 min cycle time.
