Well, even the original Japanese karaoke tracks had autotune too to a degree; it’s noticeable in Nishiki/Ichiban’s versions of Judgement Shinpan if you listen closely enough. But the autotune helps the Japanese tracks sound better, while the English autotune just makes it sound off-putting.

I was too focused on getting a perfect I never paid attention, but after coming back for the catchy tune it’s pretty heart breaking. Sadder part, they’re literally perfect for each other but Ichiban is to blind sided with love for Saeko.
Let's put it this way: A lot of J-Pop songs that are happy sounding can be extremely dark or sad. An example that I can name right here is Merry-go-round by Angela.
@@Draffut2003 It's not about being a singer. The va for Kiryu simply do not fit with him. The thing is, looking at YongYea's past va work, I think he's capable of pulling a deeper voice for Kiryu but for some reason, in Infinite Wealth YongYea just seems to insist on using his normal voice.
