+1. .. That's one impressive sailing ship. .. Wow, wow. .. Consider the amount of engineering? .. The aesthetic is an acquired taste. .. Man O man, that's someone's creation! .. Good for them, they built what they wanted. .. If the ship were mine... I'd never step foot on land again. .. "Captain! once more around the globe, again." .. Cheers, Vail, Colorado

I was working on super yachts, that “A” is a somewhat ridiculous sailing yacht and a functioning work of art.
It’s also a symbol of gross inequality, a huge cancer on society.

    • @onethousandtwonortheast8848
      @onethousandtwonortheast8848 4 ปีที่แล้ว

parajacks4 Anything can be seen as a symbol and anything can be defined as anything because we live in a time where definitions are fluid. I respect your viewpoint. The coming revolution will usher in a new paradigm. Perhaps inequality will be done away with. Pripyat was a wonderful place at one time.

It’s important to remember the distinction between gross inequality and inequality. The first is grossly unfair and an ugly, destructive, cancer on society, but complaining about the second can lead to communism.
I’m no communist. I fear extremes, under regulated capitalism is as destructive as communism is.

Think about the design what you want but the technology on this boat is amazing: the masts are freestanding and rotating....and loads that those huge sails generate must be enormous. Definite unique invert aspect.

I saw this thing yesterday, moored in the gulf of Trieste, and didn't even know what it was; surely such a monster can't go unnoticed and I immediately thought "what the f**k is that?"; even if it was in the distance you could see the enormous, unusual and, I would say, out of scale dimension of this vessel. Now, I surely prize the absolute original and futuristic design and whatsoever but, I can honestly say that it triggered in me strange, rather unpleasant emotions; I found this thing spooky, bulky, disquieting and even ghostly. Let me point out that I didn't know it was a private yacht owned by the Russian tycoon (and I couldn't care less), but my first thought was that it might be some sort of prototype, probably military, given the weird shape and size, lack of windows and no colours. Nevertheless, I'm glad I had the chance to see this monstrosity.

@@billbogg3857 My point is that it does not. We can see that this oligarch is just a "nekulturny" thug, just by seeing the results of his guiding hand in creating this bleeding, screaming abortion of a vessel.

That is with big distance to all other sailing ships the ugliest ship on this planet.
Do not use drugs kids, that is one of the results if you do it.
The perfect example for wasting natural resource.

See and this is why different people have different taste!
I looked at it for the first time and was in awe, as how futuristic, streamlined, conceiling and harmonic the design was.
In my opinion an absolute masterpiece - creating flowing lines and sides swept back in a way it seems to be tilted towards it's own front.
The elegant way of hiding away it's many main features and providing both safety and discretion for the owner is very pleasing on the eye.

...and the side panels drop, revealing her broadside of two dual barrel rapid-fire cannon, rack of homing torpedoes, armored boxes for short- and long-range cruise missiles, and a full array of small ship and AA defensive weaponry, including electro-magnetic weapons in the masts that fry the electronics of anything in a five hundred yard globe that does not have the proper IFF recognition codes and special shielding. One super-secret feature is the ability to have Engineering, Nav, Salon and all suites including Owners, VIP, and Crew disconnect as a sealed unit, and dive to the safety of extreme depths, retaining an array of offensive and defensive features in the process. One just can't be too safe with all the little people trying to crash the summer festivities, now can one?

I would not deign to call anyone's yacht ugly but I will say that it is less ugly from the side than from head on. I will bet that once onside, you would not find a single thing to call ugly. I bet that with the bow thrusters and the stern thrusters and the lookouts on those little platforms near the bow, not counting all the other lookouts that you don't see and the television monitors, I bet that I could dock that bad boy without any practice.
