This one is amazing. Like a quick composite in hit film. This is amazing.
Wow!!! I need to switch to Resolve ASAP! That's a really convenient feature for editing.
That last tip is gold! Bringing it in like a full vid 👍
Yeah that's a killer option it seems a lot of people weren't aware of.

Really, sincerely, thank you
Hugs accepted!
Really appreciate the kind words.
I’m doing my best to provide content that helps people learn, so thank you 🙏
Massively useful tip, thanks! I make thumbnails in Resolve using Fusion so this is perfect for easily creating alternative versions.
Another game changer !!! Wow thanks Daniel ! I was pulling my hair off trying to figure out how to make my Shorts ! The fact that I was creating a new project each time left me in total immobilty in creating some from my videos... Merci !
Fantastic! Glad this was helpful
Your info. is valuable. I’ve been using Resolve for a year now, and have tried others but DaVinci is the best, and your videos are helping me learn so much. Thanx👍🏼✌🏼
Awesome. I'm a huge fan of Resolve as well (Though I'm still a Noob)
I love your tutorials for noobs. They are so helpful. you and one other guy have taught me how to use this program so much so thank you!
Awesome! I'm still a noob too so I love working my way through Resolve with the community. Glad these have been helpful.
Here's one I didn't know about! Thanks Daniel.
So many endless possibilities in Resolve, Jerry!

Man, this look better than any Adobe stuff! I am usually comping 3d renders, I guess I can use ut
Brooooo…. I always look forward for your videos and shorts!!!! I have been watching more of your shorts lately though. I hope this is paying off for you because it has been very helpful to me and I would imagine many others.
Damn, another killer tip! Always looking forward to the next one. Probably one of the most valuable shorts feed for DaVinci!
Thanks, Jay!
@@Daniel_Batal thank you Daniel. Doing videos are a lot of work and your passion and concise detailed videos are something I aspire to get to for my bbq, and food community.

So glad to see you, Daniel, in DaVinci Resolve World!!!!
😁
Love your tips, thanks so much for the quality info!
Wow... This is something that i don't have with filmora... I neeed it!!!!
This is the one of your best tip ever.
God bless you I didn't know that i exported my project and bring it again in davinci again it was frustrating i know I'm a super noob
Glad I could help!
Thank you, extremely helpful
You're welcome!
Love this channel always useful.
Thanks!
Another one. Right click on timeline in the media tab and duplicate. But I do prefer the tabbed ones. Shame I lost the settings to keep it open since I reinstalled. However dragging the whole timeline is clutch. I didn’t know that one. 🔥
So many great ways to do things in Resolve. I love it
@@Daniel_Batal my only issue with it is that it doesn’t run on low end machines. I tried running it on my surface pro - major fail. I guess I will be getting a MacBook to edit on the go.
thank you, very helpful
Glad to hear that!
Incredible tip. I never knew this.
Thanks, I may need to do this, duplicate a timeline and poke around. My last timeline looks great in the app but terrible when I export it (coming out orange, etc.). I suspect the export is looking at color management and blending the results of LUT's and node activity, and getting an odd mix. Not sure. I wonder if I should have skipped the LUTs, focused first on the color management tab selection, then tweaked any nodes minimally and last in the color tab.
This is a project where I shot on a Sony Camera in ProRes Raw, changed that to Cinema DNG to edit in Resolve.
File type can really give you a different output than your preview window.
Jay Lippman pointed out one specific case to watch out for but I can’t remember which one it was
Thank you so much sir!
Most welcome!
Good tip!
That's a great tip.
wow! This really helped me!
Glad it helped!
THANKS

Daniel one question Bud! If I have a second monitor and set it up as principal how can move my viewer window to that second monitor. May mvp has a better and calibrated screen but is small which is great to see color grading changes there but to work is better the other monitor bc is bigger. I can't set the mbp as principal bc then it's too small. Any Tipps here? Thanks mate
Once open, just drag your DR main UI to whichever monitor of your choice and then activate the Video Clean Feed.
It’ll open in the second monitor.

Can you select which timeline to render?
100%
Whichever Timeline you're working in is what DR is looking at in the Render Settings when you're in the Delivery Page. You could also have two completely different Render & Exports set up in the qeue and export both automatically. You don't need to complete one and then set up the second.
Quick question Daniel, if I may...
Why is the timeline set to start at 01:00:00 instead of 00:00:00 hour : ?
It's a broadcast industry thing. But you can change that to start at zero. From the Edit page, right click on your timeline up in the media pool > Timelines > Starting timecode. Maybe I'll make a Short about it for other people with the same question
You can also change it in preferences. I just posted a Short showing one way to change it
@@Daniel_Batal Cool ! Thanks !
Is DaVinci Resolve better than Filmora? Just curious, not starting a war 😊
Depends on your needs and your workflow
Do you like this software better then Filmora?
Tough question. It meets my current daily workflow needs better than Filmora does
why i dont have sound when i add video in editor
Could be lots of reasons. Jason Yadlovski did a great video on this very topic: th-cam.com/video/UJg0-4DujXU/w-d-xo.html
I feel like I just found a new world of timelines in da Vinci resolve.
Have you tried opening two completely different projects in two separate timelines?--> th-cam.com/users/shortskGiXR0oOR5Y
@@Daniel_Batal whaooaaa I didn’t know I could do that either! I love the series! Resolve is such a great editor for noobs and pros alike.
Yes and no. I duplicated a timeline but the assets within it and within the compound clips of the duplicated timeline still link back to their original asset, they don’t get duplicated, thus acting as half duplicate. I need to figure how to create a full carbon copy with duplicated assets, compound clips, effects, keyframes and all
Not sure I understand the application but if you're looking to duplicate a project (not a timeline) with all attached assets you want to archive that project.
@@Daniel_Batal I’m looking to duplicate a timeline as well as their compound clips and assets. I sometimes work with “drag and drop” templates for quick projects and when I want to duplicate a “scene” (compound clip) the assets within it link back to original rather than duplicating. I may just work on an additional project and then merge everything, idk
Ah!
Yeah, compound clips are a pain because we can’t export & save them or put them in power bins.
Silly, I know.
Just finished a video on how to work around this which will drop in a few days but the long and short of it is; when you have project manager open, right click anywhere in the Gray area and tick the option for dynamic project switching.
That will allow you to have two projects open at once, switch between them and copy compound clips or almost anything else from one project to another
@@Daniel_Batal thanks for the tip and looking forward to watching this video going more in depth regarding compound clips
Hi ! Just used it ! great because there was a bug ; I could'nt insert a png anymore... So I created tgis duplicate and was able to correct this problem... Weired ain't it ?
That is weird
@@Daniel_Batal not the first time… I’m still wondering why… I’m changing my computer today and will run on windows 11. I’ll see if that happens again… weird glitch…
👌👍👍
But mr Daniel this time isn't there " davinci resolve for noobs?"
I like that phrase although i don't know the meaning of boobs 🤣
Greetings 🤗
Tips that I think are slightly more intermediate aren’t labeled ‘for noobs’ and are in a separate playlist.
