Hey thanks man. I am just a regular guy. I work have 4 cats lol. That’s kinda weird :) honestly it’s from my fpv quad days. I show and try to present like a lot of the bigger guys there did and I did for years but now I just have a bigger audience because for some reason real rc you tubers are for some reason not that good IMO and with our drag stuff just don’t roll out this content.
@Gravity Racer GT I already do that. However, you don't get real world feedback from a FB group, and a lot of TH-camrs just want to be heroes. I find you get a too many cheerleaders, especially from sponsored sites or shop owners. Nothing wrong with that, I get it. But I like it better when I don't get a lot of sunshine blown up my ass.

Finally figured out that castles rock eh. Been running the castle mamba monster x with a tekin 2.5 for a month or so. Data logging is great. You should be showing your hp. Mine makes anywhere from 2.3 to 2.5 hp everytime out. Still running the stock lcg slash chassis. Car has gone 2.5 at 58mph and 2.56 at 60 mph on my gnss.
I can turn it on but it’s just a fun number. I don’t see the value yet but I’m sure I will :)
@@Dorkyand40 I watched your latest video where you were giving all the credit to your radio. Myself personally I feel that without the castle you would still be stuck in the 2.4s or 2.3s. You are a very wishy washy dude.
Not really. Sure without the castle i wouldn’t have hit those times but without the radio to smooth out the power I wouldn’t have gone from 2.3-2.1 in the video. I also went from 2.4s to 2.3s with the drk using radio ramping vs their staging. And then there’s the steering ramping. Same story.

I didn't know what I was talking about until I started watching this guy (Great TH-cam channel ) with loads of info....... I finally picked up my MMX8S now the fun begins, as far B-link goes & I realize this isn't a new video but I've never had a single issue connecting or anything on my mamba X for my crawlers, always works flawless. , I wish there was a few more options on the app but there's still plenty (no complaints).... Yeah b link seems to work just fine now. Just can’t see logs so that’s an issue until they update the app.

The castle is definitely a good one for sure, loved my MMX i had in my tarp chassis… congratulations on the pb! That’s odd you weren’t able to select your range cause I’m able to under custom.
I can but I just can’t type in a number. It calculates the range. Tekin did the same but wasn’t as picky. I think it’s how the algorithm adds the timing.

Hey Chad, re-watching some of your older videos while waiting on you newer and faster ones. I noticed that your time on your GNSS and your log on the Castle is about .4 seconds off. I noticed that mine is also off by .4 seconds from my GNSS. Which time do you think is more accurate? after noticing that it has me wondering if the MPH on my GNSS is off as well. Thanks for all your videos, with your help I have gone from a 3.35 to a 2.53 using my GNSS.
So glad to help man I really am. My gnss is usually about .15-.3 off. So I just say .2. I had one before it that was a tad more accurate but these things are super cheap and they never update the app or firmware on them. They could be better but in this current electronic world we won’t see anything soon
Did u figure out the cogging on the mmx8s looking like it cogs in your video I just set mine up and can’t get it not to cog and stuck in the 1.65 to 1.55 66fts wondering how u got your to work

So do u think the castle is better than the drk?? My buddy uses a third channel for the tour we setting and just clicks it up or down at the line
It’s better since it can handle lower turn motors and make more power. For anyone I still would recommend a drk and a 4t to learn on.
I just got a mmx8s after selling my rx8 i feel like its the best choice i made for next year since the data logging seems 10 times better and the power these things can hold and temps stay low

Sup man I got another DR10 that I got set up with a 3.5 motor and Tekin Rx8 G2 and man with torque power down and timing down this thing still really aggressive running 87/19 best time I've gotten is 2.65 cause it's literally spinning wheels like 20ft out. You got any recommendations? TIA 👍

I read up on the motor not the esc but they say you want a lower gear ratio then other over the counter stuff to get the r's up
90-18 is a good start. Gotta put in the time and work from there.

The drk of you don’t have a radio to help you tune with. After that the mmx8s since it’s castles newest technology and has worked extremely well for me.
@@Dorkyand40 I have the rc5gs have throttle timing and throttle curve and a few other settings I haven't tried yet. Had some bad luck with escs want one thats the most durable running a 3.5t motor

I'm just now getting into outlaw rc drag racing 3s. Been trying to find a 3s capable esc that can ramp in power time based. The basic sidewinder esc I have now it just spins so bad to start it's uncontrollable
youll need an m17 or futaba 7px or greater to have a chance to control everything

Castle has had this capability for some time. I’ve been using mamba monster x with a 2.5t running 2.2 & 2.3. I never considered using a esc that has 400amp capability. If u can tune in the remote u should be 2.0 in no time

I use the monster x 6S with the cap pack for added protection and I’m liking it!! I run a losi 22s all stock chassis with a Tekin 3.5T gen 4 and I’m in the 2.4’s at 55mph now waiting to install the 90T gear because it’s currently running a 18/87

Castle is the king of speed. You can’t get data log from the b-link just FYI. Are you liking the trinity battery better then the max amps.
Yes I do. I have a theory on these batteries. The trinity is using 4 big cells. My max amps 6300 has 6 smaller. I think the 4 bigger ones can take the hit harder then 6 little ones. I also noticed this with the smaller 4350 4p max amps. If you go back and watch that video it was the same.

4p. So they use 4 cells in parallel to make 1 cell. So instead of having 2 big cells they are wiring them in parallel internally to lower the IR and spread the hit over all of them.

Hey man , was just watching your newest video, as I always do, and I seen on your table when you were out running, you had a ryobi charger, charging something. Are you running your lipo charger off that somehow?? I’m very new with the 2wd no prep, bought a rtr losi in may, it’s hitting straight, and I’m trying to tune and go faster. It was only a few weeks ago that I realized I need to buy a generator, like everyone else has, for recharging after every pass. Discharging when I’m done, is another big issue, that truly sucks. But anyway, I don’t recall in any of your videos, hearing a gas powered generator running, so I was just wondering
so i do a few things..i use little isdt chargers and cheap bigger 4s batteries from amazon to charge with. i recenlt bought this ryobi to supplement that and a car inverter from harbor freight..so im trying a few things. the ryobi seems to work really good vs using long cords..i laready had a 40 volt battery for their chainsaw so the 70 bucks was easier to swallow and try it. a charger and inverter from harbor freight is the cheapest

Can you use 12 gauge on castle Mamba X?
You can but you really need to be skilled and have proper soldering stuff to change the wires out on a castle. I think they are big enough and any efficiency gains are going to be minimal. Clip the ends and throw some monster bullets on there and your battery and go that route.
@@Dorkyand40 I have 8mm Castle bullets to use on ESC side. Didn’t know with Monster X esc 8s that it needed 10 h gauge. Love your videos. When I got into NPRC in December buying my first Drag Slash your videos helped get car right. Moving out of box stock and shooting for goals now.

Most perfect yes but requires and advanced remote. If you don’t have a sanwa m17 or don’t want to buy one then you should look at the drk.

Hey guys. I have two fully built drag race cars for sale. One is a 3.5 turn with a mamba monster and the other is a r1 works with a tekin rs pro. Neither car has ever been used. I built them and now I don’t have the time to practice. I can send all the details to anyone. I want to sell to build a good crawler. These cars are ready to run. All someone needs is a radio. Receiver is a sanwa for the m17.
So should I go back to my castle esc 8s then and get rid of my maclan esc ????
Try it out. You need a radio for ramping though so if you have that you’re good to go.

Depends on the warmer. Mine are 3 s and then my skyrc kit is 4s.

Mine is direct plug in so I’m pretty sure those are all 3s. The 4s ones that look like that usually have a dial or volt meter from what I’ve seen

Doesn’t seem to be unless you’re talking about the external cap pack they sell being used too. It will cog off the line without it.

Looking back at this . Why is the 2s r1 so much more powerful than a mamba monster 8s esc eventho the the 8s has way more potential to run more power
the way the r1 can control the hit with the custom curve and then apply the timing in multiple stages. with the castle it was more of a brute force method. we could only apply the timing based off rpm and we didnt have control really of how and when. in a game of tenths of a second this all matters

Ok so. Today I installed this esc using the sanwa m17 and a 3.5t motor. I’m not to sure what is going on but this thing is a turd. I’ve used some of the setting you started with. Using 22 timing. I even went to 45 and still a turd I know it takes time but
I take that statement back. I went back out and holy Sh&t it was a handful had to turn the remote down a bit.
