I ran across this video out of sheer luck. Was searching for something else and I saw this and got curious. My mother used to make cakes like this. I remember waking up on my birthday and went into the fridge to get the milk for my cereal and TA-DA!! OOPS!!!!! It was a Barbie cake similar to this but the skirt was made out of frosting. I pretended to be surprised when she brought it out. Lol! You are talented hon! My daughter likes monster high so I put this up on the tv and she was like "That is so COOL!!!!" :) Maybe you you inspired a 9 year old. Thank you for sharing!

The only reason she knew what it was, was because of the pink bow. I felt horrible! Lol! Made my son a spider man cake, that was a train wreck. I'll leave it to the experts from now on! Lol
I'm sure your kids still appreciated that you tried to make them a special cake! Big Hero 6 is a Disney movie which she got into about 5 months ago. That is probably going to be this year's choice for her birthday cake in a few months time ; )
Thank you - I always have extra which I cut up and wrap up to give away when our friends leave. If it's too much for them to finish themselves they just take it to their work office to share & it's gone by morning tea ; )

You make it look so easy, and with recent experience I know its not! ;-) I recently tried a Cinderella variation of your Aurora doll cake but just could not get the frills to happen! The fondant just dried and fell apart/ripped as I tried to put it on the cake. Did I make the fondant strips too thin? Just curious what your secret is? ;-)

I'm sorry I must have forgotten it in the list - it's a kitchen tool for cutting herbs - a herb cutter. Might be able to find it on eBay or amazon ; )
