Thanks, Mick. This method is, in fact, an isometric circle, which looks a lot like an ellipse, so it's probably ok if used as a general drawing technique...

It's nice to know how but buying a 35' degree ellipse template will save hours if you want to draw circles in Isometric. Also i'd recommend an adjustable set square, set of dividers, a good ruler and parallel motion if hand technical drawing old school, there's an odd sameness to all these tutorials and none of them relate to the real world where tools of the trade come first.

Please note that it is a curriculum requirement for South African Engineering Students to be able to construct an Isometric Circle without the use of stencils... No offence but this is not correct projection of circle onto an Isometric cube. Had to mention since this video is the first suggestion by google to draw a circle in isometric.
