  • In this collaborative media piece, Smartsoil took a trip out to Prospect Pastoral in Mollerin WA to pay a visit to Natural Intelligence farmer’s Ian and Di Haggerty. The goal was to explore why wool is such a wonderful natural fiber and that by healing the microbiome of the land, and therefore the animals, they have subsequently improved the quality of the wool the animal is producing.
This story runs much deeper than just the wool, Di also explains how wool is actually a carbon sequestration tool, and that by implementing Natural Intelligence Farming, the health of their land is improving beyond measure. If everybody managed their systems more in alignment with nature's intuitive wisdom, farming could become a net positive for the environment and those within it.
The wool from Prospect pastoral is highly sought after for its lustre, supreme quality, and positive ecological outcomes, i.e. the “net positive for the environment'' part. This has resulted in a deal with the progressive precious fiber company Nativa. Nativa sources their wool specifically from farms implementing regenerative agricultural methods. We believe this is a very exciting step forward, as big brands begin to realise the benefits of supporting, and championing regenerative agriculture.
