I’ve already watched this 4 times, this is hilarious. but also, sadly true. the shortened isolation is absolute bologna. too much rest can be a bad thing (it helps to get up and move around sometimes) but then being forced to go back to full busy days when you aren’t ready is not good either
resting is absolutely necessary to recovery, yes. but getting up and walking can help, too, especially if it’s in the fresh air. i suppose it can depend on the symptoms. but my mind was thinking particularly of having a bad cough, when it settles in your lungs. if you never get up and move around, it stays settled there. it could take several days to really feel better, but small improvements are better than none in my book. on the flip side, being forced to go back to long days too soon where you can’t get any rest at all is not good, either

@@beckyfrechette4439 very true, but how do you staff for what you do not know is coming? 2019, you only needed 3 ICU nurse, to take care of a 10-12 bed ward... now, they are expanding covid wards to cover several floors. And the intensive care unit has 20-30 people in it! That is not just staff shortage, that's people making very bad health decisions, then someone else having to take care of them. And being told how to do their jobs by people with a TH-cam medical 'degree'!

In 2 years, I haven't so much as had a tickle in my throat until a few days ago. I was like, this might be it. I might finally have it. Got tested, but no not Covid. Strep test came back positive, though. I think I had begun to forget over the last two years that other illnesses and viruses existed.
This was awesome, thank you for putting it together. When our family got COVID a couple of months ago (Delta I would assume), the kids were affected for roughly two days, my wife and I for about the same. I suppose at some point we are just going to accept that this virus, along with every other virus and influenza is here to stay and will just keep on evolving - life just has to go on regardless I suppose. Closing the school was very difficult for our kids, I hope that doesn't happen again. Thanks again for the humor relief, you guys have been fantastic through the whole thing.
Very accurate. I'm still going to school, yet over half my friend group is sick or quarantined for exposure. We went from 10 people sitting at our table to three. And my classes are missing so many students, and even teachers, too.
In reply to this video and the other one where you were saying "What were we thinking, back when we used to go to work sick?" I just want to say that we used to not think that sickness equals death. We used to think it just meant putting up with some inconvenience, but we went to work and play because everyone believed that it's better to go to work (and even get sick from coworkers) and get that project done by the deadline, than to stay home and miss the big deal and have to lay poeple off. Sick just meant discomfort, not death. And now we're getting back to the same idea- society can't continue on long-term fearing death with every other thought. We are all ready to live again, with just a little bit of "come what may" because every factor of life has inherent risks.

Just went to a Parent Teacher Council meeting at my kids school today, we spent about a third of the time talking about covid. Encouraged them to add a virtual option for tonight's meeting and they did. So as tiring as it is, keep talking about it because that's how we keep fighting this awful virus that we all want to just be done with. Thanks for speaking up!
Yes! the more we talk about it the faster we will fight it. We need to test more, test everyday and vaccinate everyone, keep wearing masks and talk about it everywhere so it doesn't become part of our culture and normal to have this virus everywhere in our lives.

My school district notifies EVERYONE (k-12) anytime a Covid case is identified in the district, and they say what school it’s from (middle and high one building, k another, 1&2 another and then 345 in one) so we’d get emails and it’s like “a child in the third grade has Covid” like great why do I, in the eleventh grade (siblings both in middle school) need to know about a seven year old
I agree i wish the school system talked about it more, I work in childcare and our program is run out of schools so when children don't come to us after school we have to check absences but the school only tells us that they are out cause of covid they don't tell us when the child had to go out for it or when they should be back in school they treat it very confidential and now school are following different guidelines than we are and we are all so confused so that's a whole mess. My family of 4 just came out of covid. It ran through us quicker than Mexican food! It's such a relief to know we are past it (for now, anyway). It felt like a dark cloud was always chasing us, and eventually it was going to catch us. It did, and we're thankful.

Holy shit, why is this so accurate? Also you have a good voice, nice job lol! Yeah, I'm confused too, I guess because it's "not as severe" we're not as worried or taking as many precautions? Also Covid fatigue sadly. I'm still being cautious and mostly wearing my mask in public (unless I'm eating) though I confess to not wearing one a few times... I definitely make sure to wear my mask when I'm working because I work a cash register and have to interact with a lotta people (fortunately there's also a glass pane in front of me so that helps too). So many people come into the place where I work without masks, including my coworkers. I've been vaxxed and I got the booster but sadly I did get Omicron shortly before I got the booster so that totally sucked and I was super careful not to spread it to the rest of my family, especially my aging parents whom I live with. Fortunately they both have all their vaccines so even if they did get it, it wouldn't be too bad but thankfully they didn't get it and for me it was just like having a bad cold I suppose. Still, best to be cautious and do your best not to get it! As they say, an "ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

In reply to this video and the other one where you were saying "What were we thinking, back when we used to go to work sick?" I just want to say that we used to not think that sickness equals death. We used to think it just meant putting up with some inconvenience, but we went to work and play because everyone believed that it's better to go to work (and even get sick from coworkers) and get that project done by the deadline, than to stay home and miss the big deal and have to lay poeple off. Sick just meant discomfort, not death. And now we're getting back to the same idea- society can't continue on long-term fearing death with every other thought. We are all ready to live again, with just a little bit of "come what may" because every factor of life has inherent risks.
I agree people really need to get back to this mentality....especially with all the info coming out from the cdc now!
So people should really think it´s more important get a project done... than health. I am loss at words.

@@iriatunaspernas5903 yes getting a project done equals keeping your job, and others keeping theirs. So yes, feeding your family is more important than getting the sniffles (that was the only risk back then). That's why we used to go to work sick. Sacrifices and duty for those you love.

An RN friend & her family had natural immunity from the first covid version, then got double vaxxed, and still got omicron, with two of them hospitalized. Just went to a Parent Teacher Council meeting at my kids school today, we spent about a third of the time talking about covid. Encouraged them to add a virtual option for tonight's meeting and they did. So as tiring as it is, keep talking about it because that's how we keep fighting this awful virus that we all want to just be done with. Thanks for speaking up!
Yes! the more we talk about it the faster we will fight it. We need to test more, test everyday and vaccinate everyone, keep wearing masks and talk about it everywhere so it doesn't become part of our culture and normal to have this virus everywhere in our lives.
That's great. I know some parents just can't stay home with small kids, but some can if the number of kids in class rooms when down, it would help a lot to prevent the spread.
@@elizabeths9852 Yes. I live in an Apartment Building, and it is Mandatory we wear Masks outside of our apartments. A few weeks ago, when I was doing my Laundry, a neighbour was not wearing a mask and used the excuse the building manager wouldn't know! I threw my Laundry in, and walked out ASAP!

I'm a teacher, and my school just made that same decision. We were notifying the whole classroom when one kid was found positive, but it became literally an everyday thing, so we stopped! Ha!
My school district notifies EVERYONE (k-12) anytime a Covid case is identified in the district, and they say what school it’s from (middle and high one building, k another, 1&2 another and then 345 in one) so we’d get emails and it’s like “a child in the third grade has Covid” like great why do I, in the eleventh grade (siblings both in middle school) need to know about a seven year old
I agree i wish the school system talked about it more, I work in childcare and our program is run out of schools so when children don't come to us after school we have to check absences but the school only tells us that they are out cause of covid they don't tell us when the child had to go out for it or when they should be back in school they treat it very confidential and now school are following different guidelines than we are and we are all so confused so that's a whole mess. I hope everyone is staying safe and protecting themselves as best as possible despite everything they've been told. Just do the best you can do :D Have a good day!

My family of 4 just came out of covid. It ran through us quicker than Mexican food! It's such a relief to know we are past it (for now, anyway). It felt like a dark cloud was always chasing us, and eventually it was going to catch us. It did, and we're thankful.

Holy shit, why is this so accurate? Also you have a good voice, nice job lol! Yeah, I'm confused too, I guess because it's "not as severe" we're not as worried or taking as many precautions? Also Covid fatigue sadly. I'm still being cautious and mostly wearing my mask in public (unless I'm eating) though I confess to not wearing one a few times... I definitely make sure to wear my mask when I'm working because I work a cash register and have to interact with a lotta people (fortunately there's also a glass pane in front of me so that helps too). So many people come into the place where I work without masks, including my coworkers. I've been vaxxed and I got the booster but sadly I did get Omicron shortly before I got the booster so that totally sucked and I was super careful not to spread it to the rest of my family, especially my aging parents whom I live with. Fortunately they both have all their vaccines so even if they did get it, it wouldn't be too bad but thankfully they didn't get it and for me it was just like having a bad cold I suppose. Still, best to be cautious and do your best not to get it! As they say, an "ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
COVID has convinced me to live life to the fullest, regardless of all this COVID drama i know to just have fun with my kids, enjoy them and live to the fullest, because you never know when your last day will be.
