Thank you so much Dr. Robert. This is what respiratory therapist student is aware of this knowledge before we go to the clinic! I feel like much closer to the mechanical ventilator after your explanation.

Dr. Robert Kacmarek sounds like an amazing professional in his field and a wonderful person. I have learned through a search that the Donald F. Egan memorial lecture will now be named after him. No doubt he has earned such an honor. However, I will miss seeing my father's name as the title of that lecture! I remember seeing my dad working on the first script of the book, Fundamentals of Inhalation Theriapy, in his small office in our modest home, during my young years growing up as his daughter. Eventualy the work I saw my dad focus on for his book led to the book, 'Egan's Fundamentals of Respiratory Care'. I know my day would have loved seeing all the developments that have occurred in the area of Respiratory care in these more recent years. He was also a very humble man and patient oriented as Dr. Kacmarek has been described Wishing you all the best as you continue to improve your practice in respiratory care. Lynne Egan Dubay
