I fell for the okey-dokey. Graduated high school, went to college on student loans. Started working with at risk youth in jail. Didn’t know how to budget or how to be disciplined. But I finally learned how right before the COVID-19 Pandemic hit. 2020 come around & I lost my job but I already had disciplined mindset. I had already had a year’s worth of living expenses saved up. Plus, I had a real estate business and non profit organization when everything went down. I admit it is and has been hard especially when the income is not consistent. I think the key is remaining disciplined. Even when you are not making money stay disciplined. We make a big deal about Making Money. The true key is knowing how to KEEP and be a good steward of your money. Being a good steward of our mental & physical health as well. I’ve put so much of what I’ve learned in a book .

I wish I was in tune with matters like this when I was younger. I was a young mother, wife, hard times and then divorced. I had times that were so trying to me, where I did what I had to do. I did not manage my monies correctly. I was never taught by parents, how to save etc. Not knowing how followed me throughout my life. It’s never too late, and I ready!! Thank you. The lack of grace (young) black women receive throughout our life is sad, and the short term & long term effects can be studied. I can remember every last person who have denied me grace. I always think about where would I be, where would my confidence be, if I had received more grace.
