  • We arrive at Brecon Beacons Caravan And Motorhome Club Site in South Wales. We show you how we set up on a service pitch, erect the Outdoor Revolution Movelite T2 Driveaway Awning and put the Smart Tow A-Frame away.
    We do Motorhome Reviews, Motorhome Days Out, Help, Hints and Tips on Motorhomes, Motorhome Tours in the UK and Europe, we visit Motorhome Shows, and spend over a third of our year living in a motorhome. In fact all things motorhome!
    Check out our channel and subscribe. goo.gl/LkNYYo
    I aim to release a video each week, every Friday at 18:00, as a minimum, when we are at home. When we are away on a trip or at a show I aim to do a daily video, but this will vary depending if I have a signal.
    Please - share, leave a comment, click subscribe (it's free), click the bell icon for notifications of all our new videos on our motorhome trips, shows, events, help, hints and tips on all aspects of #motorhomes #motorcaravan #campervan

    How spooky. Thanks for the mention and link. We were parked on the two pitches to your left in front of you last week. I lost my towaframe wedge between Brecon and home so I will have to purchase a new one. Great doggie walk. The 3 Horseshoes pub is nice posh nosh and a bit pricey but dog friendly. On a wet day the caves is a good place to go but not sure about dogs. Have a great week. Abergavenny has a lot of roadworks in the town centre at the moment. We loved our stay in the area. 😄 Trev n Sue

    Hi Bob and Jenny, Love the Brecon site been there a few times and the dog walk is about the best on site one we have found though don't forget the assault course is compulsory (though make sure you try it before the pub visit which is dog friendly by the way), not sure if you are still there now but if so and you cross the dual carriageway to get to the canal tow path if instead of going into Brecon you turn right at the bottom of the steps and go underneath the bridge there is a lovely walk to a Lock and if you continue on by crossing the country lane then after a few hundred yards you will get to the Aqueduct where the canal crosses the river giving some glorious views. there is also a quite steep path down to river just after you cross the lane and before the aqueduct if you want to see it from underneath.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, we will try that before we leave. It's been chucking it down today, so we've been taking it easy.

    • @gerbilwilliams5848
      @gerbilwilliams5848 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its well worth the walk, its about a mile from the bottom of the steps to the aqueduct (over the river Usk I think) and I think the road you cross just before it is the B4558 (I think but don't quote me on it)

    Another great video both but the hassle of towing a car I.e attaching /detaching would certainly convert me to car and caravan. We are motorhomers and would prefer the inconvenience of spending an extra 10/15 mins looking for a 7metre + parking spot. You are such a brill team,love the vlogs . Thanks for sharing.
    ps the Zulu War v Borderers museum are just up the road which is very interesting !

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, but I have to say, It takes me about 10 minutes to hook up the car and then we have the convenience of not packing up the motorhome to go out, so I guess it evens out time wise. Also I don't spend any extra time looking for 7m plus sites, the vast majority of club sites cater for up to 8m vans.

  • @pageant1fd
    @pageant1fd 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent video both. Wondering why you chose a motorhome / car towing and not a caravan towed by a car ? Did you find the adjacent dual carriageway rather noisy ? The nearby Brecon Museum has lots of interesting info on the Zulu Wars plus the canal is a great place for dog walks.
    Thanks for showing us the setting up demonstration. All the best.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many reasons we went for a small towed car, which I've probably covered in previous videos;
      th-cam.com/play/PLUi3rqw12j2q2q4KYGAnvYgnTiWI0cdiL.html
      But I guess it's about flexibility, we have a motorhome when we want to travel flexibly and stop where and when we want as in Scotland, the Lakes and Europe. We can stay on pitches longer and not worry about parking in towns or indeed Welsh Lanes if we take a small car. The small car and motorhome fit on our drive, where I doubt a decent sized caravan and large tow car would not. When we are home we have an economic run around.
      Thanks for the info about the area and no, the noise from the dual carriageway hasn't bothered us so far apart from the odd lunatic on a motorbike with chimneys for exhausts!

    Hi Bob,
    Sorry about your eye appointment,but just to keep you active can I ask about the awning cover that looks like it runs along the length of your van please. Looks great bit of kit to stop any wild life or pops escaping under the van and also makes your tunnel area more private.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo

    Very neat A frame set! I find it interesting as you have to change plates. It almost doesn't make sense as the car is registered on its own? Have you tried a bicycle luggage elastic on the steering wheel... It will keep the car straight if you need to reverse short bits if needed. Going forward and turning, the elastic stabilize the steering more. Did you have the steering lock removed or do you keep a second key in the ignition? Thanks Nice video.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good tip about the elastic. Hadn't thought about that. You have to put a number plate on, as the car becomes a trailer. I have a second key in the ignition to stop the steering lock coming on. You turn the ignition on, then off. Thanks for watching.

    • @fiatunonewsletter6782
      @fiatunonewsletter6782 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BobEarnshawMoHo We tow a lot of cars to the workshop with a A frame. Just hook the elastic left corner underneath of the driver seat, once around the bottom of the steering wheel and down to right corner of driver seat. Not too tight. Do a quick reverse test... and ready to go. The other advantage of the elastic is going at angle over speed bumps in caravan parks. It will prevent the first wheel touching the bump first to turn the steering rack.

    • @fiatunonewsletter6782
      @fiatunonewsletter6782 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry to message again. My English is very poor and 3rd language. You have to "play" a bit the the bicycle elastics to get that perfect tension. Not too little not too much. It depends on the lengths they are available in the UK. Meaning, you might have to use 2 to get it "perfect". Ask your wife to look at the front wheels hitting a speed bump at a angle. With and without it. See that the steering rack don't "knock" or force but go through even... same with reverse test.
