    I used to drive a Belarus a lot like this back in the late 70's...
    I can remember it being air cooled and the starter was a button on the floor like the headlight dip switches on old cars.

    I never realised that watching muck spreading would be so entertaining, but it really was!
    This is fantastic organic nourishment for the soil and encourages many earth worms to the surface and aerate the soil. This muck can only be described as black gold nourishment.
    Well done to you both. Ye must be the talk of the local farming community regarding how well ye are managing since your wonderful Dad died.

    Good work Joanna. You both persevered, overcame the challenges and completed the job. Well done. Love the sound of Belarus tractors. We bought a Belarus 920 brand new back in 1992 as a general purpose chore tractor. It was used for so many different jobs from hay work, spraying, grain processing, earthworks etc. We sometimes used it for planting alongside the CaseIH tractors when we had enough people there to help. Following the Owner's Manual maintenance program to the letter, we did over 6000 trouble-free hours with it. We sold it to a bloke 2 years ago and replaced it with a New Holland. I saw the Belarus a couple months ago and its still going strong. A very underrated machinery brand. Great to see them working. Top vid Joanna.

    When loading muck pick up one of those silage bales on the rear spike. It'll take the pressure off the front axle and make your tractor more stable.

    • @DaleFarm
      @DaleFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      @elginsparrowhawk7203 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think a Belarus is a light tractor and probably stable enough as it is. However loaders in general do add stress and wear to the front axle, even with an empty bucket.

    In your first muck spreading someone suggested selling some of your tractors.Well they were your Dads and I think he had plans for adding more(T250?) There the Dale farm classic tractor collection and belong at your farm.I wouldn’t sell any unless it was absolutely necessary.
    The MTZ 52 super handles that spreader OK, if your happy to do the muck spreading I would keep doing it. You might need some ear defenders.
    The muck looks good quality and well rotted, the amount you have spread looks fine to me.
    You could get a bit more in the spreader and if you look inside it at each end you will see the starter fails ( I would be surprised if it hasn’t got any).Like animals machines,tractors and muck spreaders etc need regular health (maintenance) checks.
    Your both doing great!

    Definately a good thing to keep all your tractors in regular use.........honestly it's the worse thing you can do to them is just to park them up and never use them ......everything will just seize up on them .that dungspreader is probably the most profitable piece of machinery you got on the farm as you say artificial fertiliser is rediculous money so a good old coating of muck is the best thing by far. That muck will be a big help to the land 👍
    Not sure if ye have similar rules in the UK as we have in Ireland, but I'm fairly confident it is very similar. If there are any highly stocked dairy farms in the area, or even pig farms, ye might be able to get some slurry from them. Highly stocked farms can have limits put on them for the amount of organic fertilizer/nitrogen they are allowed to use on their own land. This would limit their stock numbers, so sometimes they export that to lightly stocked farms in order to keep under limits.

    • @tipperarymick5337

      @@georgedoorley5628 Sometimes, but I know a few who export slurry, and one who exports the farmyard manure back to the tillage farmer he gets his straw from. A win win for both of them.

    put a round bale on the back of the loader tractor for ballast & better for weight on tractor plus easier on the front axle. Don't have muck spreader to close to heap to give you chance to man -hoover. Fill either end, then the middle. Have you oil the chain under the front cover & greased, very overlooked part.

    • @DaleFarm

    We don’t want to preach, just worried about your safety - the plastic pto cover shouldn’t be going around, there should be a safety chain attached from the pto cover on the dung spreader which goes onto the pto cover of the tractor, all just in case you get near it and get caught up in it. I hope that makes sense, my husband was trying to explain it to me. You’re doing a great job 👍

    • @DaleFarm
      @DaleFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi , I don’t think any of our PTOs are safe as such , which means we don’t go near it when it’s spinning. I’m sure in time we can get replacements , many aspects of farm life we are playing catch up x

  • @elginsparrowhawk7203

    Do you have much white clover (nitrogen fixing) in your grassland? If not you could spread some clover/ grass seeds mix in your fertiliser spreader followed by chain harrowing. Also a grassland aerator can improve the sward.
    Do you have your soil tested? Might indicate what it needs.

    • @DaleFarm
      @DaleFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

    Well done for learning your way into the job and perseverance... that's the way too learn really ..nothing beats experience... om a side note for your grass growth ...if your father didn't spread any fertilizer your land may benefit from getting a contractor in and giving it a shot of either lime or basic slag ...both of which are high in trace elements and may nourish your land but at a fraction of the price of prilled fertilizer...just a thought...anyway keep up the good work and looking forward too the next video

  • @georgedoorley5628
    @georgedoorley5628 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    do the mtz no harm to use it and clean out the cobwebs ......... now that you have gotten the hang of the dark art of using a side spreader you should be on the look out for some muck , sometimes it can be got for the taking away .......... try not to stand in front of the machine while its running as it may throw out a stone at you ...... take some soil samples and test for the ph ......... its important that that is correct as a low ph will stop any fertiliser from working correctly ..........if u can get some pig slurry spread it is mighty stuff , better than any bag fertiliser , trust me ........keep safe and enjoy the lovely weather we are getting at the moment ..........
