    Lovely work, John. I've had a soft spot for Snows ever since reading of the Sophie in Patrick O'Brian's Master and Commander. I was delighted to hear a real one had survived to the present day (after a fashion) when they found Ontario.

    Great job John,did you use MaristellaKit of Ontario ship or it is your individual pieces?

    • @artofageofsail
      @artofageofsail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Vizir Cadillac! The model has been designed and built by me at a scale of 1/64 by commission. I have worked closely with Naval Action to bring her to the popular video game and with MarisStella to create the 1/48 scale kit. An excellent kit, I may want to add ;-)

      Hello syang1116, I'm not understanding the question entirely. I apologize but can you add more explanation of what 'molder' means? Thanks in advance!!!

    The hms ontario is a brig?

    • @artofageofsail
      @artofageofsail  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, technically a snow, very similar to a brig though!

  • @Spor7y01
    @Spor7y01 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very nice, was it scratch built or from a Kit and if so where did you get the kit I am very interested as I usually build model aircraft but want to get into Ship modeling.

    • @artofageofsail
      @artofageofsail  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks @Spor7Y.
      It was the other way around, the model was the prototype for later kit of Ontario. she can be gotten here: www.marisstella.hr/model-ship-kits-marisstella or: the-art-of-age-of-sail.myshopify.com/
      Let me know if you need more info!?

    Her constructions appears to me she was a miniature frigate rather than a sloop-of-war.
    I wonder why this ship had an enclosed gun deck unlike the British Navy’s brig-sloops of the same period

    • @artofageofsail
      @artofageofsail  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what makes her a bit unique,. Purpose designed and built for her unique role, not as a supporting vessel, but as the major warship in the sometimes harsh winter conditions on Lake Ontario.
