Damon is one of the few, who will actually put his foot down when things aren’t right. Somebody has to be an advocate, and Damon does it for himself. Glad to call him a friend. They don’t make them any tougher 👊🇺🇸
Damon still has an enormous amount of fans. His personality and charisma is what led people to cheer for him. Being from the southeast, I got to see Damon race several times before making it big, was a fan then, still a fan now! Super happy to still see him around the sport and doing well in life.
Damon Bradshaw was a beast! I remember that accident, I hated it for him. He was good, very good, but he was also a wild man that refused to let off the throttle. It led to many victories, and several crashes as well. If I remember correctly, there was a race where Damon lapped RJ.
As a fan, Damon was a great memory. He brought a lot of excitement to the sport. I worked at a Yamaha dealership then and he really helped the brand, in our area at least. We sold a tone of the orange graphics kits. I learned how to install a great seat cover behind the parts counter because of it haha, great interview.
100% know what your sayin about being a fan of Damon's I'm right there with ya & I'll have that man on a pedestal till the day i die!!! He's still cooler than the other side of the pillow imo. Geat show loved it!!!
I remember Damon ride. His style and aggressiveness was second to none. I am glad he is involved in the industry and people recognize him. One of my all time favorite riders.
I’d love to see Jeff Stanton on the show! He’s the most underrated champion the sport has ever had. Rode clean and trained his ass off to be a 6 time champion. Absolutely loved that era of racing
I was so fortunate to meet Damon last summer in Iowa I probably annoyed him having him sign many items from my collection lol. Still am a big fan and he was my guy when I was younger. Definitely one of the nicest guys out there so glad he’s still around our sport and doing great 👍
I take back everything I may have said negatively about your broadcasts, this (along with other shows) have been stellar! Have Damon in studio was excellent along with your TWO STROKE YZ250’s in the foreground. Very good interview, and you sold me on a Bill’s Pipe! I will be on the phone with Bill Cervera in the morning!
I remember when Damon crashed at San Diego, he was way ahead, he and Doubach. He slid going over a table or step up and cased pretty hard and went down in the back, San Diego was always a big track. I think he hurt his ankle.
At Seattle supercross back in the 90's I was on the edge of the pits (they used to pit on the side of the track), had a chance to speak with Damon, and he gave me a pair of his gloves. They were WAY too big for me, but I wore them during all my races that year. I was shocked that I did not go faster.
I remember 91season best because of him racing the 500 class, i remember being completely blown away with his results as a first year on a 500 i truly was screaming at yamaha for putting him on that at 18 yrs old in combination with a bike they knew very little about as far as setups for x tracks. I was positive he was going to get hurt and miss opening season next year. I was very wrong and believe to this day if he would have had a next 500 season he would have been VERY hard to beat.
Maybe it's a bad comparison but when he was talking about hating everyone he raced I pictured Deegan. I know some of it's an act but idk it just gave me the same vibe. Maybe I'm wrong
Any chance we could get Frappy Mike on the SML show? We’d all like to hear how he got started with his career in Frappuccino’s. What his future looks like at Roy’s. Also, if he had to do it all over again would he choose a career as a Starbucks barista.
I was sitting right there when he crashed in Indy,I severely broke my ankle and can’t watch videos of stuff like that, stuck in my head and made me cringe
I am a curious about the podcast in general, you say that you are out of time , is this due to TH-cam limitations, studio limitations or personal time?

I still remember watching Damon go from last to first in the 125 class at the 1989 Miami supercross

Watched this guy race a
and win back in the day. Still going strong not just existing but. Living.

Totally. I underrated him myself at the time but have him now as the most underrated champion of all time right behind Mike Kiedrowski :D
I was a bit sour on him at first as he was beating Rick J :-)
The Beast from the East one of my childhood heroes
I remember him as a kid on a YZ 80 at local races in North Carolina. I liked him then and still do today
Love this interview. Bring
All the 90’s big names best MX era without any doubt. (So true about not seeing the cross bar on the bars at that time)

When I was a kid I thought racing would be easy. I was very wrong. Iam 46 now and do off-road riding jumps hurt now lol. I'll watch now
