This. Guy. Is. Brilliant! He makes theory in marketing, leadership and communication sound like poetry!

You're absolutely right. Simon's speeches inspire to live the life with a purpose, with an important goal, not only worrying about the money.

The intensity of the argumentation is so great and the despair that Simon Sinek works up here - is evidence of truly great speaking-to-and-audience skill.
So great, in fact, that I - for one- had to view this clip 3 times before I could overcome the feelings brought on by this glum state of affairs, and hear his call to create more human interaction and trust as a standard and not the exception.
This is in stark contrast to the inspirational message Simon Sinek usually conveys.

This man speaks the truth, unfortunately, it will be many many years before the truth is realised. Trust must/should be the standard, not the exception. Human interaction and overall trust is very important in business (and some would argue human/personal) relationships. Great speech overall, great man, great speech. Simon Sinek is the man!

Someday it would be a great pleasure to attend one of your lectures. You've inspired me.....to go higher and to ask more "Whys" Than "Whats"....Thanks you're SPECIAL!

    •  9 ปีที่แล้ว

The same feeling has happened to me. More "whys" than "whats". Greetings.

    I agree.
Since todays human move in a "searching mode" (as Mr.Sinek says), and tech only make it worse, by letting the chaos come faster. More human direct communication will slow down our movement, and give us more time to solve and find the right life mode.

Most definitely agree! Human interaction is absolutely vital and sadly lacking these days.

    •  9 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi! What do you think is the main reason for this lack of human interaction?

I really love the theory right now our company is going through the split even though the founder preaches this.

I've observed that many couples tend to break up when one partner loses their job...
And my response is just as glib as what Simon says.

Well said, thank you. I agree that communication depends on facts being told, honestly and to all. And, yes, the 80s were the first time when money/materialism was placed more above people. Material goods, by 2012, are now made so much more cheaply (so they break down more quickly to be replaced more quickly for the sake of increased profits (more 80s thinking)) and only after that do we whine about landfills, but not connect both these factors - the poor build quality, and worker conditions.

    Thought provoking.
What can I take from here?
Is it the idea that increased material success (more wealth) and affluence has divorced people from their ideals? Should we postulate that "money is the root to all evil"?
Or, that idealistic movements are destined to fail - either thru premature failure or through debilitating bloating from success?
Or that appreciation of the confusion that derives from the vast overload of information should foster revision of our direction,,,?

I think the camera production needs to know WHY they do WHAT they DO.

He states the obvious. Does he state it for the sake of it, or is there another reason - an ulterior motive?
What surprises me is that he uses the same definition for both corporation and nation.

Simon when taking away the fix from the dopamine (mobile/internet like) addicts of the millenium generation, how do u deal with the anger & sadess which is wanting to be released when u take away the addiction fix?

  • @ShamrockParticle
    @ShamrockParticle 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why?
I've seen videos of his and I don't always believe him. But his talk on the 40s-60s does sound credible and true. (Though the musicians certainly made a lot off of their audiences.)
There are LOTS of charts that can quickly be found showing wage stagnation, job devaluation, that fit in to his talk of the 80s.
Technology is wonderful for info exchange, but it is also great to automate/eliminate jobs. He didn't say that, but he said other things (facebook, blogging) that do make sense.

This video was a real breath of fresh air. I have gained an insight into interplay between the Mozarts and the Salieris. I believe it could prove helpful in engaging with the challenges created by cronyism. What would be the best way for me to get in touch with you?

Al though children are not "possessions" I understand the point he is driving at--trust is defined by cultural congruence and in some cases conformity and the latter is our biggest challenge. Nothing fails like success gone...off-purpose. We end up with shadow values and self-destructive patterns controlling our decisions and lives. This is the reason for Greek Tragedy, Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, All My Sons and The Crucible....McCarthyism or the witch trials. We need human wisdom.

    Seems like stating the obvious...
So what path can corporations take to return to those roots?
Humanity vs profit...So where is the balance?
