Can't believe I was 10 when I was grinding 60 attack on 6:07 Lesser Demons with a RUNE BATTLEAXE so that I could get dragon weapons from 3:22 Lost City before my school friends... this might be the most nostalgic Runescape video I've ever seen, thank you

I remember first playing rs in 2004, I was in 5th grade and my neighbor showed it to me, I remember not caring at all about grinding or anything in that gradient, all I wanted to do was walk around and just explore things, I didn't realize it at the time but it just kind of felt wonderful in the most surreal way. I'll forever miss that black void where the draw distance cuts off and also being excited pretty much anytime I found something as mundane as an iron helmet
I miss this simplicity in entertainment that i only seemed to find in video games as a kid. As an adult now, not so much.... especially not in newer games but sometimes when I go back to those older games that enchanted me so much as a kid, I can still get lost for a few hours in nostalgic exploration

I think the tasks of modern old school runescape would be more bareable if it was game like minecraft in that you buy it all for a 30 dollar price and it can be played offline or on custom servers... im not sure how that would work but it would be cool I would be more relaxed if it didnt have to worry about renewing bonds because I would have bought the game for a solid price, and I would have to worry about disconnections or people being annoying or taking my spots and I could actually get things done And then i just do my tasks relaxed in between sections of grinding runecrafting maybe mmo doesn't work as well for osrs and it needs to have a differant model

When I want to relive my old runescape nostalgia, I pull out the old guidebook I bought at the school book fair. The map doesn't even show the GE because it hadn't been added in yet, and it references the old random events like the troll and the dryad.
The whole thing about farming seeds coming out before the skill... Now THAT really brings me back. I totally forgot about this until watching your video. I remember all the excitement everyone had stocking up on seeds, trying to guess which ones would be useful/valuable, and which ones would be junk.

Your videos bring back some great memories. I remember the very day I first played RS back in 2004 or 2005. My brother had found out about it from reading a gaming magazine. Another reader had sent in a letter talking about it and they placed his letter in the magazine (I wish I could remember what magazine it was). My Favorite version of runescape was when the HD update came. And Dungeoneering. Oh man how that era was. Music was amazing, the characters were beautifully pit together and the overall feel gave this, medieval fantasy adventure game that fit so well. Oh man how I miss those days 😢

I did not expect the sounds to give me such a nostalgia trip wow I started playing before they updated all the animations and sounds. But didnt know the game well enough to see the changes in demons and dragons. But the sounds I definitely remember. Damn.

Thank you so much for this. I find I can't play RS or OSRS as much anymore since the focus of gameplay for the community had changed, but your videos help me remember the days when efficiency was largely irrelevant and none of us knew what we were doing.
I really miss those old gray walls and the varrock guards with their bronze med helms, also I had all but forgotten about the cheesy blood graphics everywhere. And those steel chainbody textures used to have such a satisfying look. Every time I talk to people in games about this stuff I realize those times are just memories. More and more people playing these games that weren't around when they were fresh and exciting, and there weren't guides on everything.
I was lucky enough to have the entire 2005 experience, and to this day I prefer the old looks of the lesser demons, greater demons, giants, dragons etc.
The spider sounds from 2005 in this video weren't exclusive to that time period. I know for a fact that they had them as late as 2010, I distinctly remember the sound from that time as well. The same went for the wolves as well. Somehow I remember the scaffolding in barbarian village as well, though I joined in late 2007.

Gosh this was such a nostalgic watch, takes me back to highschool when the peak of my F2P RS accomplishments were getting a rune med helm drop from lesser demons. Coming back to OSRS all these years later, it's really interesting the things you don't realise have changed until they're pointed out to you, but once they are you remember the old appearance in vivid detail.
The lesser demon sound is incorrect. It had a more of a scarier sound. The one that is used on that private server is the Greater Demon sound. Also, the spider sound is wrong. As does the Black Knight. It has a more louder "PI'NK" sound. Also, when Falador was updated to white, a mean bitchy level 2 woman lived in where the party room is today. She woudl attack you if you kept talking to her and persisting. WAs funny.
@@drewblair3953 By going into files? Theres a sound archive that has all the 2006 sounds. Also, theres another private server, Rune Rebels that has said sound recordings. And, in the NPC database, the level 2 woman exists.
Funny thing is I actually *only* remember the 2005 sounds from back in the day because I would always play with sound as a kid, nowadays I never play with sounds.

My time was 2005 - 2008. I still played when they added in new hairstyles and I believe some updates graphics and textures. I didn't really notice stuff like that back then, I was just happy to have new hair options. But I agree that 2005 - 2007 is when I had the most fun, because that was when I was addicted and so too were several of the people in my class. It was a different time though. We could *run/escape* from reality into that amazing world and go on grand quests and daring adventures. It just felt like another life. It's a feeling that can't ever be captured again, like being a child on Christmas day.
Although I didn't know old fally. I am glad you shared it. I still treasure old Varrock and the old fountain. I remember the day of the upgrade in may 2007 I logged out in the dark wizard circle and logged in and me and my twin brother and he said "where is our character?" And I said it looks like Varrock dark wizards but why is everything changed. At first we were amazed and said oh wow look at the guards new armor and lol stray dog follows us. But then we missed it. The old Blue Moon Inn was the coolest place to chill. I wish I played OG RuneScape classic in it's prime. I loved it in 2009+ when they did open access for members but sadly it's all gone now!

I really miss those old gray walls and the varrock guards with their bronze med helms, also I had all but forgotten about the cheesy blood graphics everywhere. And those steel chainbody textures used to have such a satisfying look. Every time I talk to people in games about this stuff I realize those times are just memories. More and more people playing these games that weren't around when they were fresh and exciting, and there weren't guides on everything.
You should show off the insides of the Falador mansion and the old Varrock Museum before they were changed.
I was lucky enough to have the entire 2005 experience, and to this day I prefer the old looks of the lesser demons, greater demons, giants, dragons etc.
Changing falador from grey to white was a good call...

The spider sounds from 2005 in this video weren't exclusive to that time period. I know for a fact that they had them as late as 2010, I distinctly remember the sound from that time as well. The same went for the wolves as well. Somehow I remember the scaffolding in barbarian village as well, though I joined in late 2007.

Gosh this was such a nostalgic watch, takes me back to highschool when the peak of my F2P RS accomplishments were getting a rune med helm drop from lesser demons. Coming back to OSRS all these years later, it's really interesting the things you don't realise have changed until they're pointed out to you, but once they are you remember the old appearance in vivid detail.

The lesser demon sound is incorrect.
It had a more of a scarier sound. The one that is used on that private server is the Greater Demon sound.
Also, the spider sound is wrong.
As does the Black Knight. It has a more louder "PI'NK" sound.
Also, when Falador was updated to white, a mean bitchy level 2 woman lived in where the party room is today. She woudl attack you if you kept talking to her and persisting. WAs funny.

Also, theres another private server, Rune Rebels that has said sound recordings.
And, in the NPC database, the level 2 woman exists.

My time was 2005 - 2008. I still played when they added in new hairstyles and I believe some updates graphics and textures. I didn't really notice stuff like that back then, I was just happy to have new hair options. But I agree that 2005 - 2007 is when I had the most fun, because that was when I was addicted and so too were several of the people in my class. It was a different time though. We could *run/escape* from reality into that amazing world and go on grand quests and daring adventures. It just felt like another life. It's a feeling that can't ever be captured again, like being a child on Christmas day.
Although I didn't know old fally. I am glad you shared it. I still treasure old Varrock and the old fountain. I remember the day of the upgrade in may 2007 I logged out in the dark wizard circle and logged in and me and my twin brother and he said "where is our character?" And I said it looks like Varrock dark wizards but why is everything changed. At first we were amazed and said oh wow look at the guards new armor and lol stray dog follows us. But then we missed it. The old Blue Moon Inn was the coolest place to chill. I wish I played OG RuneScape classic in it's prime. I loved it in 2009+ when they did open access for members but sadly it's all gone now!
