  • This is my 1986 Suzuki RG500. I have owned it for nearly thirty years and totally rebuilt the engine a few years back.

    Beautiful bike! I have a 1986 RG500 in the traditional blue and white but being an engineer I couldn't leave it stock. Thank goodness the authorities here in the USA are much more forgiving when it comes to excessive highway speeds. It is very hard not to be in the power band most of the time, very addicting! Your bike runs beautifully and sounds fantastic. Enjoy it. The days are numbered for internal combustion engines if the left has their way.

      Thanks. I'm an engineer too, but I resisted the temptation to fiddle with it. The cops here are insane when it comes to speed. Anything more powerful than a Grom and they see you as a potential criminal.

    very nice machine, sure wish I had purchased a few of these back in the day, especially "Walter Wolfe" edition as these bike are selling for huge money 25-40 k here in Canada

    I miss my Gamma.. should have kept it. One of the coolest things about this machine is that the revcounter starts at 3000 rpm 🙂
    But when you hit 7500... weeeeeeee...

    Amazing bike, an icon of 2-strokes. Congratulations on keeping it running smoothly. I'm restoring a 1991 RD350LC, I can't wait to ride it.

      I had a Black/Red/Grey 1983 RD350LC with Boyasen reeds and Allspeed spannies back in the day. I wish I’d kept it. Good luck with your build.

    Thanks for sharing. I notice you have non standard mirrors which are wider. What bike are they from please?

    • @Spiderwebsider

      These are bog standard OEM RG500 mirrors from Suzuki Tim.

    Not like kick starting my 1983 Husqvarna 500 XC two stroke. This suzuki seemed like you barely had to kick start it?

    • @Spiderwebsider
      @Spiderwebsider  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, I reckon that kickstarting a big 500 single would take a fair bit more effort than the RG's 4 little 125cc cylinders. I also have a KTM 350, and that's a lot harder to kick over than the RG.
