Yeah it really doesn't flood them because what ever fuel does get sucked up goes though a little hole next to the jet and back into the fuel tank. Basically you are just choking it though!!☺
picked up a parts one a swap meet good tank and has nice rails on the bottom. good crank and one cylinder. no pistons or rods. small hole blew out the middle of the top of the crankcase. good for parts I've been looking for one of these since you made this video.
Oh, you just flood it. I like the way the single cylinder Maytag is shut down with that bar.. That just seemed so much more elegant than starving it for air. I guess by shutting it down by flooding it will make sure there is fuel in there to help start it next time.. Sort of like a choke.
Nah not really, probably took a few years to get the ones we have!! Now we use containers from Chinese take out, they're better made and easier to get!!☺
805ROADKING ... Thanks for looking back through some of your older posts. When I wrote that comment, in no way did think that you would reply. I have been watching your posts for a couple of years now and truly enjoy them. after watching this series on the Matag twin I am an expert too. Thanks again. It's a great solo accomplishment. I'm a 66 year old retired aircraft mechanic and I am pretty house bound. You help me make the days go by:-€ Thanks for being a friend.
How do you shut down a running 72 twin engine? I don't see the shutdown bar thingy like on the single cylinder (Plus the plug wires protect the plug connection).
Well, falling in line with the last video, with the engine mating rituals, now we have overhaulus interruptus... I can tell that engine wasn't done by my buddy Roadking. Whoever did that one didn't bother to take the bracket off to prime it, and there isn't any primer on top of the engine.
Paging doctor roadking paging doctor roadking theres a maytag 72 in need of an operation. To the garage please thank you lol. I had too. It'll run again !
I like the coolwhip bucket but I found something better I use old cake pans , like 9x14 ones with magnets in the bottom ,, they work great for catching bolts and parts and also holding my tools when I am doing surgery on a small engine or weedeater or whatever I am disassembling that day
Thanks Bud!! The gloves are a registered trademark!!☺
Thanks for the vote of confidence Buddy!!☺
Thanks Kay!! Yeah it's in real good shape!!☺
Yeah Buddy!! right down to the last nut and bolt!! We do run into a few snafus, plus we paint it an unusual color!!☺
Thanks "D"!! we're upin' our game!!☺
You'll be pleased!!☺
I'm surprised you don't see any for sale at the shows!!☺
Yeah alotta people never heard of them before Till they seen them on the Tube!!☺
Yeah basically all that engine needed was fuel!! Thanks for the support Buddy!!☺
Yeah we're a Lone Wolf on this one!!☺
You just turn the mixer cap all the way to the right to stop the air flow to the engine!!☺
Yeah it really doesn't flood them because what ever fuel does get sucked up goes though a little hole next to the jet and back into the fuel tank. Basically you are just choking it though!!☺
thanks Yan!! We'll make it right!!☺
The operation is underway!!☺

Not much damage left on that baby that I can do unless I tie it to my Truck bumper and drag it Texas eh!!☺
That looks like a perfect engine for your mini bike... Kinda fits yer theme, ya know?
Yeah it wouldn't go to fast but it would sure look interesting!!☺
Get an other spark plug wire and find out why it doesn't have a spark!! Might be as simple as dirty points!!☺
ebay
So far that looks in very decent shape, I assume your doing a complete tear down, paint it up and whatnot.
I didn't want to ram it down your throat too soon after the other rebuild!!☺
You guys sure do eat a lot of Cool Whip.
Nah not really, probably took a few years to get the ones we have!! Now we use containers from Chinese take out, they're better made and easier to get!!☺

Nice video. Looks like there wont be a terrible amount of cleaning to do on this one. Mick.
If I can't handle it I will just page someone eh!!☺
I was waiting for this one since i managed to be pissed of because of the transport damage!
Solo mission this time ?
The doctor with no assistants? Can you handle the pressure??? lol
I'm interested to see what this one looks like on the inside .
I wish I could find a 72 around here!
Nice to have talent
I was wondering when you were going to start the rebuild on this one.
