So Mari and Hero are trying to make it look like that Sunny died from drowning in a pound. In most takes on Omari AU, they buried his body and lied to everyone that Sunny ran away and got lost which is much darker.
Would have been alot more creepy if mari looked back at the water and sunny eye opend, as he was already dead and begining to lose functions of the body, which most likely also happend to mari corpse when she was hung nobody knows why but our bodies after we die can sometimes just still move on its own which is most likely why mari eye was suddenly open after she got hung, so having made sunny eye suddenly open could have been alot more creepy and traumitizing but thats just a suggestion.
Let me guess, Kel, Basil, and Aubrey don't find out what really happened to Sunny until 4 years later when Mari finally decided to tell.

Sunny actually opened his eyes widen in the end, i just didn't show it because i didn't know how to make it creepy:D
