Maréchal nous voilà! is a Vichy French song wich was apoted as a national anthem besides la marseillaise. Vichy France was the German puppet state in southern France and was led by Phillipe petain during ww2. Phillipe was known to be a ww1 veteran at the battle of Verdun. The song was first written in 1940, but was plagiarized from a song composed for the 1933 musical La Margoton du battailon by Polish Jewish composer Kazimierz Oberfeld, who was deported during ww2.
