I arrived in Rome from Nairobi in 1980 at 4.30 am, but there was no bank open until 6.30. When I finally got some lire, found out that there was bus strike. I turned to the fight and eventually came across a railway line and looking along the line saw a station. It was Fiumicino station, not closed. Took a train L700 to Ostiense, from where I walked onto town passing the Circus Maximus
