As someone who had a terrible parent who they made amends with later in life, the scene between Bae and rumple just breaks me. His acceptance of Bae's anger but also Bae's love and their hug so full of pain and love is just amazing and heart-breaking all at once. The idea that all Rumple wants is a chance to apologise and tell him he loves him is just so perfect and beautiful. It's so broken but so full of love. I just adore this entire sequence.
ahhh i cried so hard also the scene where neal says " I'm still angry..." and Rumpel replied " I know... " Is such a parent child moment... like ugh so wonderfully acted by the two of them... something that is lacking now that neal is gone :(
I teared up during his speech to Belle.. especially when he says "you loved an ugly man" so sad that he still sees himself that way.. so broken he can't believe in anything, including himself. also when he tells her that she makes him want to be a better man. sick how they give you hope for him the change when everything is looking good hopeless. I knew he had to live. I love the end the end the best when bae says I'm still angry but yet takes his father's hand and cries.

This is one of the reasons why a lot of us love Rumple ( in my case is also the episode where he took out the tongue off of that horrible sheriff of Nottingham, for disrespecting Belle). Why writers? WHY?? Please don't Destroy Rumple.
Years later I still think about this scene: He's back in Storybrook. The poison shouldn't be able to kill him. He's the Dark One. Immortal except for the dagger. He literally can't die any other way. He should just heal.
The dagger, yes... But just as squid ink can paralyze the Dark One, so can the Dreamshade's poison kill him... and water from the River of Lost Souls... better to stay away from such things 😅 I understand what you mean, but it was much more dramatic that way.... And apart from that, this was one of the strongest and most moving scenes for me....
Bae could have a life of his own cause he knew Rumple was the dark one and from his knowledge is immortal, so he never thought he could die. That realization hit home that it might happen here

@Anna G. Google is not necessarily wrong. The reason they spell it Rumpel and not Rumple is because the original story of Rumpelstiltskin which has nothing to do with beauty and the beast that is how it is spelled. I do see how it's upsetting though because people do misspell his name a lot.

That "May I?" still breaks me more than anything else in this scene, like he feels he needs permission to take his own son's hand.
