    Thank you for posting this video……thanks to you I have given my Dyson a thorough deep clean along with a new foam pad ( gasket?). The upshot is that it seems to have a new lease of life, giving my carpets a proper vacuum. Glad I found you 😊

      Sorry to hear yours didn't meet expectations, but hopefully you can save it, and put it back to use! It's a very powerful vacuum when it's working correctly.

    This reminds me of the air muscle! Without the air muscle part.... why these didn’t sell longer or better I will never know

    • @VacTech1

      It's a shame. They discontinued them so quickly. It's an Air Muscle without all the complexity. Thanks for watching, Vac Lounge!

      @@VacTech1 Not only did the DC27 Total Clean only have a 2 year production run, but it was sold as an exclusive edition model which is why it is rare and difficult to find.
      The DC28 Airmuscle is not impossible to diagnose or repair, it’s just fiddly and requires really close attention, twice the effort of other models. However I still managed to restore it to the point where it looks like a brand new vacuum, sounds like a brand new vacuum and runs really well.

    Hello
    Thank you for sharing your knowledge it is appreciated 😊
    I found a Dyson DC 27 vacuum cleaner the cord was cut off- at the base on the stem of the vacuum. Can this be replaced?

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it sure can! You have to take apart the handle near the power switch, to replace the cord. You'll likely want a cord made for the vacuum, as there's little room to wire a new cord to the old one, inside the handle.

    I just want to know how to use the small nozzle end for tight areas

  • @jenniferphillips7471
    @jenniferphillips7471 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I tried to get the plastic screws to turn to remove the initial plastic cover. I got the end one to move, but in trying to get the middle one to turn the plastic just turned into a mess. The screw wont budge and the slot it is now mangled and stripped. Any suggestions on how to get it out?

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those plastic locking screws were always so fragile. Either a large coin, or a very large flathead screwdriver are best to prevent damage to the plastic. You could try to squeeze the bottom plate and the housing it connects to together, near the screws, and that might help you loosen them. Otherwise large tools/coins work best for them. I hope you're able to get them turned!

      I do, but it's hard to say what would be causing that without seeing it. If a good cleaning, and making sure everything is sealed ok (the tank lid and nozzles) don't do the trick), I would recommend taking it to a local vacuum shop to have it serviced. Good luck!

    • @VacTech1

      Is the brushroll spinning when you lower the handle? Could be something simple like a brushroll switch, if the brushroll belt isnt broken. Do you hear the brushroll motor turn on at all?

    • @scottshoning4909
      @scottshoning4909 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VacTech1 I just had the same issue - the brushroll stopped functioning. After watching your video, I learned that there was a separate button that controls only the brushroll, it must have always just been on by default when operating the power button. Crazy that I've been using this for a decade and never had that happen before.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scottshoning4909 so with this machine, whenever you press the power button, it presses the brushroll switch as well.

    When I get the attachment nozzle out it doesn’t suck anything, pls let me know how to activate the suction from wand

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should switch to hose mode when it's upright automatically. Is the clear U-shaped piece closed at the bottom of the wand? It's either missing a piece, something isn't sealed right (the U-shaped clear piece), or the hose/wand is clogged. I hope this helps! Should be a simple fix.

    • @quickreviewchannel6931
      @quickreviewchannel6931 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VacTech1 thanks I can’t see any piece which attaches at the bottom as why it’s not sucking, I recon it’s lost, thanks for replying I appreciate it.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't pay that much for a used DC17 tbh. That could be a number of issues. Maybe something simple like a belt or brushroll, or something more complex like a brushroll motor, or the plastic brushroll housing. I hope you're able to find a nice one soon!

    That’s a dc27?! The dc27 in the uk is like the dc33 with a clutch. In the uk we didn’t get uprights with separate brushbar motors.

    • @VacTech1

      Right. The US version cleans carpeting a lot better than any of the clutch Dyson models. Sadly they didnt sell it for long here, and they're pretty rare these days! Thanks for watching!

      @@VacTech1 Hi I’m on the Autism Spectrum, I have diagnosed and serviced a DC28 before and it wasn’t that big of a deal, it was just more complex than other models. I was able to get into the mechanisms and remove all of the gunk and fluff, and then I lubricated the mechanisms with silicone lubricant, the brushroll I am still trying to figure out how to remove the belt housing, it is fiddly, but it’s not impossible... I just didn’t want to take any chance of damaging the belt housing. So I found another way to service the brushroll, I took a pair of tweezers into those tight little areas and pulled most if not all of the fluff out of the end caps of the brushroll. Sneaky huh? Then I lubricated the Brushroll bearings with Silicone, and why I use Silicone over WD40 is because Silicone repels dirt rather than attracting it like WD40. Now my DC28 is operating much smoother than before. Maintaining and Servicing a DC28 is not impossible, it’s just more complex than other models. Hope you found this helpful and interesting. :)

      If you can afford it, the Ball Multi Floor 2 is basically a beefed up version of the DC40. It cleans much better.
