That's beautiful country I have not feeling good today sorry I am late with my comment that truck was stuck man it was I would sell them wild cows that Bailey sells wild cows for your time ld think you can l don't know if you can just a thought man it is tuff in there great job
Lol, I was hoping they would have been some wild ones too! That would have been fun. Your trucks drop down in the desert just like ours do up here in the muskegs. Great show my Friend. I really enjoyed it.
Hey, thank you, we are just figuring out that you have a youtube Channel as well. We will be checking it out. And yes, when that desert gets wet, that mud is deep!!! We know there are some wild ones in there and we hope to go back and see if we can get them out. Thanks for watching
Hey, thanks for watching. We were shocked at how stuck that truck was. So once we got it out, we were not going to get it close to the mud again. ha ha
To the 1880 Drifters crew, I hope you all have a safe and great meal with family and friends for Thanksgiving. Then just like us it's back to the salt mines!!! Tom B
Awesome video I always enjoy them so much . So very beautiful country so awesome watching you herd cattle out of there . But I bet some times you don’t enjoy it if you have to get wild cows or bulls out of there 👍
Hey Tom, Thanks for watching. You are the winner! we wondered if anyone would pick up on that sign. That is a historical marker of the pioneer wagon train that went through that wash in 1880. The road we were riding on is part of their original trial. This is the group of pioneers that we have in our name. 1880 Drifters. We would love to send you a hat for noticing that. If you can send your contact info to trason.jack@gmail.com we will get one sent. Thanks for watching!!!
@@1880cowboys OK on hat !! I thought the great YT chef Cowboy Kent Rollins or Rawhides Wishbone and Mushy had maybe cooked supper there years ago on a drive.
❤🎉 Another great show! Not only are you living in history, you're creating some of your own. "Lab created meat" -- seriously?? That term alone should be outlawed, not to mention the "people" who invent such monstrosities. Disgusting. 😡 Thanks for your videos and for all your hard dedicated work, tradition, and honest healthy food production!! 🐎🤠❤️🐂😍🙏☺️⭐
Thank you for watching and we really appreciate your comments. I could not agree more with what you have said. We are losing the connection to where our food comes from!!!
Yes, I do know them, great people and great family. Julie, David's wife helps us with our Ag loans. She works for Farm Service Agency. They have a deep ranching history in this area. Thanks for watching.
Where are the wild cattle from? Several generations wild ? Or just escapees ? Can you sell the wild cattle if you can catch them ? Always enjoy your videos.
Thanks for watching. The wild cattle come from across the river. They are considered wild if they do not have any brands on them. We have found 10 year old wild bulls in this country and so yes, they are several generations wild. If we catch these cattle we can contact our sheriffs office, they impound them, and then take them to a sale barn. We do get money for them after the expenses are paid for. The bunch we found in the video were escapees because they were all branded. We have been seeing that group of cows for the past year. Thanks for your questions.
ha ha Yes they sure can! However, if you can get them caught they can bring a little money. Range Law is, that any unidentified (unbranded) cows on a grazing permit belong to the permittee.
Yes you can, but you have to go through the sheriffs office and follow their protocol. The only issue with that, is cows that are truly wild are not domesticated, and don't gentle down and become part of the herd. So they are very difficult to handle. Thanks for watching.
Once again beautiful down on that desert.Does it ever get cold enough in the winter you have to deal with frozen water down there, and about how many cows can you run on that permit.
Hey Ronald, yes it does get cold enough to freeze things up. We will spend a good amount of time in the winter breaking ice and thawing out frozen pipe. On this permit we run 350 mother cows. We are permitted for more than that, but we keep our numbers down so the cattle have plenty of feed.
Yes we can. We have to go through our local sheriffs office and they actually impound them and then take them to a sale barn. We get the money, minus the Sheriffs office expense. Thanks for watching.
This is probably a dumb question but what is the main forage on that permit? How many acres do you allow per head? I wondered what the covers wagon sign was thanks for answering that question
Hi, thanks for watching. We have several types of native grass that the cows eat, Indian Rice Grass, Needle and Thread Grass, and Curley Grass. They also eat Black Brush, Shad Scale Brush and Four Wing Salt Brush. It takes a lot of country on the desert to support one cow, believe it or not it takes about 100 acres per cow!!! Thanks for your questions, I will try to point out the grass and brush in an up coming video. Have a great Thanksgiving.

@@1880cowboys My question is on the maverick cattle. You call them wild and I agree. I also agree with you on not wanting to mix your bloodline with them. If you don’t own nor your neighbors don’t? Who does ?….What if someone with permission came in set up cattle traps , catch to sell immediately or restock somewhere else. I seen you in one post give to the County Sheriff. Just asking.
Thanks for another great video! Not gonna lie! It’s sometimes fun for things to get a little western😁👍🏻
I look forward to seeing your videos every week. I love the gorgeous scenery.

Very smart move uncoupling the water trailer! It's amazing to realize how many people wouldn't have thought to unhook the trailer.

What was the purpose of the signpost at the 1:30 mark. Appeared to be a chuckwagon/connestoga type wagon on it.
