Jason should do more videos! He’s a wealth of information and I have really enjoyed watching him today.
Maybe even starting a new channel dealing with the more technical side of the garden. Great job, Jason.
I enjoyed your tour. You don't need to apologize for not knowing the names of every plant. Maybe you could drill some holes in the cement where you are getting the runoff. Glad that you will be getting some cooler days.
plus, he's handsome....with all due respect
Great job Jason!
Jason great job. You are an asset to the dig, plant, water, repeat team. ❤❤
Thank you Jason you did a great job.
You're a great problem solver, Jason! Shade cloth will absolutely help with the north garden and trenching the tubing should keep it from expanding. How are the girls and the animals doing? Your backyard garden tour is a success and so is the editing. Janey's blessed to have you covering for her...and being her partner in life. Cya!
Love how you support your wife and the business!! Great job it was very informative on the technical challenges we all face in the garden. Your perspective is appreciated. ❤
Jason great job! You are swiftly becoming a gardener with plant names and all! So glad you joined Janey in the adventures!
Jason is transitioning very well from healthcare to gardening and YT. It is a forever learning curve for us all. Nice job!
We all bring something different to the garden and it's always nice to get a different perspective on it. Think how boring it would be if we all cookie-cuttered each other. I can't even imagine the heat you are getting but happy to know you and Janey are taking it seriously and not venturing out to work in it. Back garden looks super - love the pops of chartreuse greens and bright yellow.
Great job, Jason. I love hearing your plans for the garden and seeing the garden from your perspective.
I'm so happy Jason did this video!!! He knows his plants! GREAT JOB!!! And he showed everything that's struggling as well! The truth about gardening and not trying make it seem like everything lives! THANK YOU FOR BEING HONEST ❤
Great job, Jason! I'm in Zone 6, we're in a heat wave here for another week and I found it fascinating to see what plants survive and thrive in your extreme heat. Thank you!
Jason .. you’re awesome !! You and Janey make a fantastic team and each of you bring your own style and perspectives .. which is perfect. Just keep being yourselves 🪴
Jason, thank you so much for the video. I was starting to have withdrawal pangs from no videos all week. You are doing a great job in Janie’s absence. Reassuring to know that even the experts have plants that fail. Hope your heat wave eases up soon.
You did a great job on the tour. I'm impressed with how many of the plant names you have learned. It was interesting to hear your perspective on how everything is doing. Thanks for filling in for Janie
Jason, for the irrigation that might be expanding because of the heat.
Before you dig trenches, how about temporarily covering the joints with 2-3 layers of wet cardboard? Only to confirm if is in fact the heat.
Another idea is to place a cooling coil inside your water tank. Been working for me perfectly.
Great job Jason! Love seeing the garden from your eyes 🌼🐝
Jason is so sweet. He doesn’t know all the things but he knows so much, and is so much a part of things. And calling out his girl’s story about the fairy garden❤️ Great video with a different perspective.
Jason, you’re just doing a great job, a natural! ❤😂❤
You are doing amazing Jason! It’s staggering how much you are picking up in terms of gardening etc in such a short amount of time. You really should be proud of yourself. Great video in all respects. Xxx
The brunnera look like they are getting attacked by spiders or spidermites. Treat for that for ALL of them and get the cobwebs up. If you get that shade cloth up right away, that should help everybody. Might have to water twice a day for a week until they recover. :) Maybe move all those plants over to the house-side?? Keep feeding everything a light soluble fertilizer once a week or so. Hopefully that will help, too. The hydrangeas could use a pruning and you can take them inside! If they feel papery, cut them into a little bit of water in a vase and let the vase dry out. That's how you dry hydrangeas. They should do lovely there in Davis. Boy do I miss California growing! (Much easier with the lower humidity.) :) Thanks for the garden tour!!!
I agree, I saw right away spider mite damage!
MORE JASON!!! Watch out Janey, you got some competition! But seriously, the two of you make a fantastic team!
You guys hang on through this heat wave. Praying you come out of it soon. Good job Jason!
I can tell Jason is getting more confident on cámara! Love see him taking over!
Thanks Jason for the tour. I really enjoyed listening to your perspective of the garden.
You’re a good sport Jason, and you did a great job! Looking forward to seeing the shade cloth installation and the benefits in your side garden.
Awesome job Jason! I love your perspective on the plants and watering issues. Please do more videos!
Good job on video you and Janey make a great team❤❤
Jason, don’t apologize! You did great!
Janey who?! Just kidding.....great job Jason. Thank you for sharing your back yard with all of us.
Thanks for hanging out in the Northside shade garden!
Love Jason's garden tour!!! ♥️♥️
Well done Jason!! You know more than you put on, the listing of the flowers you've memorized is tremendous!! Great job!!
Great job Jason,on your garden tour.
Jason you are a Rockstar. I'm so impressed with your commitment to learning not only video production but the gardening. You remembered so many plant names, which is not easy if gardening is not your passion! Looking forward to more videos.
What a treat, Jason you did a wonderful job. Truly enjoyed your perspective on the garden.
You did such a great job! Love how you’ve learned the names of the plants and your vision for your property! Janeys very lucky to have you home on the DWR team to deal with the issues that arise. It’s a lot of work!
Thanks Jason, nice tour for sure.
Awesome tour, Jason.
Hi Jason!
My husband got a “sun shade sail” several years ago. We live on Cape Cod in MA and it is a game changer in the hot sun! There are several shade levels; we have a 92% which still allows some sun through so the area where we have lunch is still bright but it offers a lot of reprieve! These also come is different sizes and shapes! We have since added 2 small triangular ones to our first bigger rectangular! Like you we have a front porch that we use but it is on the street side and a lot more public whereas our super sunny area is more private and we enjoy pool time and lounging in that area!
Jason, You are a walking encyclopedia of plant identification, tricks of the trade, etc. Great job!!
Great job, Jason!! Thanks for the tour!
Hi Jason! Loved the tour of your backyard (especially the dahlias!) and nice job editing the video! Well done you two for maintaining your gardens in a prolonged heat wave. I really like the idea of pea gravel for the Vego bed area.
While Janey is away, you should pick up a plant you like, put it in the garden and see how long it takes for Janey to notice! 😜🇨🇦
Jason job well done. I enjoyed your view of the garden. Your editing was good. Keep up the good work.
Great tour. 🌸🌱🌱🌱😎 The garden is looking great despite the heat. You and Janey are a great team. We are having a long heatwave here in Cyprus too. I’ve noticed how our weather has strangely mirrored yours over the last several months . 🤔
Hello Jason, Tammy here a friend from Canada I live about three hours out of Vancouver British Columbia. It was so wonderful to see your garden struggling just as mine is I was starting to wonder if I was doing something wrong but we get quite the hot temperatures as well in my little town of Merritt so it’s reassuring to know that it’s not my gardening ha ha it’s the weather, so thank you for letting us see your garden not being so perfect it really helps.
Jason, I love you’re not afraid ( or at least willing) to pick up the camera and film too. You do a great job! I know you mentioned putting up a sail or shade cloth, but what about a small arbor like the ones you all had at the other house. I think they had honeysuckle on them. I know that route is a bit more expensive, I’m just not sure you all would really be happy with the look of shade cloth. Just good for thought. Love you all, keep up the great work!
I’m glad you mentioned that water is a precious commodity. Even in southeastern Pennsylvania, I’m making sure new plants I bring into my garden are heat and drought resistant.
Jason, you did a great job!🤩
Great job Jason. Thanks for carrying on in Janey’s absence.
Hi Jason! Thank you so much for doing this tour and sharing your thoughts...Robbie just put up some shade cloth in his garden so maybe get some info from him 🌱👋
Ya, did get Jason, Thanks for filling us in and keeping the realistic gardening haps in. Everything is thriving even through our Cali heat wave. Those shade sails will be a cool addition.
Wow Jason you are really awesome at giving garden tours! I give it 5 stars, keep up the great work.
Great job Jason, tell Janie you did a great job at remembering most the plants and telling us about all of the problems helps us solve our problems too.
You've come a long way with your knowledge of plants Jason! You've gone from "here is a cute little purple plant," or "here is a silver plant," to not just the type of plant, but its individual name, and why it is doing, or not doing well. I think we are seeing "survival of the fittest" in our gardens during this heat wave. Thank you for showing us the real deal. Well done!
Hi Jason! Shade cloth is such a great idea but maybe consider something more natural like an ornamental tree that only grows 10 feet or less. That might assist with some shading for your more delicate plants.
Great video Jason. Janey and Jason, this has fast became one of my top three channels to watch. What you have achieved in less than a year is just astounding and beautiful. 😊
Hi Jason!....Thanks for the tour!
You did a great job!!
A great different perspective- thank you Jason! The way you ran the tube over the arches was genius!
You did great Jason! You're doing really good job learning plant names, it's not easy.
Well done, Jason. Completely understand slow/no gardening in your heat. We have high humidity here with heat so work mornings only.
Nice the fountain is working 👍🏾👍🏾
Jason you did a Great job. Glad to see you on the tream.
I’m glad you talked in some detail about the drip irrigation and avoiding trip hazards. It gave me some ideas how I might be able to put in drip tubing in the future without creating a trip hazard for me. The struggle is real. 😁❤️
Jason, excellent work. I believe I counted 43 plants that you identified!! In regards to the vego garden bed, what about a raised decking with maybe a picket fence to surround it so you don't miss step off the deck. I still can't believe how many plants you can identify!! Keep up the good work!!
Jason, check the shade yard 7:02 through the sunny time and see if the windows are reflecting a sunspot onto the area where the brunnera died. Just a thought. If not a strange sun pattern check for bug/pests.
I was also wondering if it is a bug/pest problem as I can see some cobweb kind of texture on the surrounding plants... maybe spider mites!?
Jason, thanks for an informative backyard garden tour. Great job!
Jason, great job! You just keep getting more natural at hosting the videos 😊
I've been gardening in Southern California for well over 50 years. After millions of mistakes, I have found nature will always win. That said, wouldn't it be easier to put sun loving plants on the sunnier side of the shade garden? I used to put up shade cloth, umbrellas, etc. Anything to trick the sun, but in the end the sun always wins. Also don't know how windy it is in your part of our state, but shade cloth in the wind becomes a great big sail. It takes a very strong footing to stay in place.
Wishing you great success. Love your channel ❤
Hey Jason, nice side yard tour. Elk Grove checking in. Can’t believe the temperatures we all are getting. My yard is looking pretty tough, can’t give it enough water. Thank you for the nice tour. Hope Janie has a nice time on her trip.
Jason, you’re a natural at doing videos. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 You did a great job and I learned a lot again today.
Wow! I am so impressed with the team work you and Janie have! I love everything you both have accomplished in the year that you have been at your new property! Such a pleasure to watch and learn from both of you! Thank you for the inspiration!
You did a great job man! Thoroughly enjoyed the tour
Jason you did a good job! Thanks for a beautiful garden tour.
Jason, you've come a long way. Fantastic video. You're really into it! Thank you for the tour.
Good for you, Jason-taking such initiative!! You did an amazing job, you would never know you don’t do this much. You’re a natural & so great getting a different perspective. Cheers from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 zone 5b. You know a lot more about the plants than you give yourself credit for 👏applaud yourself. Good job 👍
The pots by the office…now give them a good hard cut back. They will rebound.
Jason thank you for stepping in. 👏🏻🌟
Jason I REALLY enjoyed your video! I can tell you’re really enjoying your transition into the gardening world. Keep up the good work. Tammy
Great job Jason. Janey will be proud.
Thanks for the tour Jason. Backyard is looking great.
Love seeing Jason! Also- rattling off those plant names like a champ!!
Great video Jason! Thanks for your input on current conditions in your garden as we suffer from the excessive heat!
Jason great job, your wife will be proud of you. Can't wait to see what's next.
Good job Jason! You have taken to garden life like a fish does to water!
Jason!! You did a fantastic job! I’m still so nervous in front of the camera, you are a natural! Looking forward to more videos 😊
I decided plants have a mind of their own. I have had the same thing happen. It’s HOT here in N FL. Plant death has arrived a whole month early. When things get hot for our veggies I open our large umbrella for some relief for the plants. Shade cloth will the great and they will love you for it. Great job as always Jason.
Jason you should do lots of more videos love your voice 😂❤
Great garden tour! Shows we can all have problems right now with the lack of rain and extreme heat!
Nice to see from your perspective and talk about some of the trouble shooting that happens in gardens. 👏🏻👏🏻
Jason, check if you are getting burning reflection off your windows there in the shade garden. I have hostas that get burnt like this and I found that my neighbors window was the culprit. The shade cloth will help👍
Jason, you do a wonderful job and I love the technical info you provide. This is the sudden plant death season. It happens all around the country.
Well done Jason!!
Loved your perspective on the garden. I love that you keep it real. 👏👏👏👏👏
Jenny should be so proud of you!!!
Well done Jason. Cheers 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 Bronwyn
Jason, you're a natural! Great job! I love hearing your plans for the garden...you've done so much work already. The shade cloth in the shade garden would be perfect...I had to get mine from Amazon because stores just don't carry want you want and need. Also plant some tall plants in there for height (canna lilies, elephant ears, more ferns for the lushness). Janey, relax...Jason's got this !🌿
Jason, I’m so inspired by your tour video!! I am super new to this gardening thing and love seeing someone that relates with still learning it all!! Janey is so lucky to have you! Wish my husband would partner with me the same way you’ve done with Janey! It’s a dream!! (I’m sure there’s plenty that’s not so pretty behind the scenes that we don’t see, but appreciate what you add to this channel, and your sense of vision!)
Thank u Jason for showing us the garden today and you are right about the tubing. When it gets hot it gets soft and then it's more Pliable. I hope you can get it working. Good luck. I would die in that weather. I thought Chicago gets hot but man over the 100s that's crazy. Stay cool and have a great weekend
Hi Jason! I think you’re on the right track when it comes to your black irrigation tubing. My hubs and I always bury our black non-emit tubing. We also use the heavy duty u-shaped landscape staples to help secure any joints. We live in a hot humid climate and have not had the problem of the joints coming apart. Depending on your soil you may be able to use a flat-edge square shovel/spade to split your soil and drop the tubing in and only have to “dig a trench” 🥵 in certain areas. Super great job on the tour btw!!!🌼
Great way to run your tubing on the raised beds to avoid tripping. Nice and neat too! To help with the water issue they do make a shut-off valve for 1/4” tubing that you can adjust to regulate the flow. Hopefully that will help with your run-off. You can then power-wash the area and use a slate-colored stain which should help to camouflage any run-off you may still get. Just a couple of ideas 🤔
Good job Jason! It was fun seeing from your perspective!
Great job Jason, you are a natural! Considering the heat everything looks pretty good in the back gardens. You and Janey make a great team together and I was impressed with how man of the plants you did know. ☀️ 🌞
Jason is doing great; not boring or corney. He even recognized a random weed in the hydrangea. I thought it was Silver Falls. 😂
Wow...Jason You are a sport. You did a wonderful job.
Great tour Jason, not sure if anyone else suggested it yet, I would build a wooden low deck over that concrete pad. I imagine even if you would cover it with gravel or decomposed granite, they would still get stained by the runoff. The deck or a wooden pathway between the beds would float over it.
You both doing such a great job, blessings
Great tour from your perspective Jason! Thanks for bearing the heat. 😅
