I’m real excited about that second tunnel I see coming! That will help a ton for those who fly Southwest Airlines. As it is now, it’s not good! It sure is a beautiful new airport, but you gotta get there super early before your flight so you have time for your super long walk! Wear your most comfy shoes!🤗
I will be flying on Southwest Airlines on September 1, 2021, from Salt Lake City, Utah to Phoenix, Arizona. My flight departs at 8:55 a.m., on that day. I saw a Southwest Airlines plane parked at a gate at the building that was separate from the rest of the airport. How do I get to that building? Are there tunnels underground, or do I need to walk on the taxi way ramp tarmac area or do I need to catch some sort of a shuttle bus or another way??? I want to get to the airport on that day at 7:00 a.m., or before.
Just last week I did a round trip from SLC to LAX. I wonder why they didn't make it so when you exit the TSA security checkpoint you'd enter into the middle of Terminal A instead of the south end. That would've cut the walking distance by quite a bit.
We are currently building Phase 2 of The New SLC, and part of that phase involves extending Concourse A to the east. When that is complete, the point where passengers exit the TSA security checkpoint will be in the middle of Concourse A. The east portion of Concourse A is being built where the old airport used to be. The old airport needed to be demolished before we could build the east portion of Concourse A.
We need a construction live cam.

I flew from here last month and tracked the distance on my phone. From where we were dropped off by Park N Jet to our gate was more than a mile walk
@@richeppe what airline. If it was Delta, not too bad.... any other airline is an even loooonger walk😳
@@gotaloha100 We flew Southwest, so a loooooong walk. Felt bad for my parents
@@richeppe that’s the thing....if there was an option for a cart, that would be no problem. But for some reason, they don’t have any🤷🏼♀️

Nice
Can we please have one of these every three months or so?
One year later - 2022 - should do another flyover to show the progress

Unless they plan on mirroring the same thing on the other side, hmmmm...

Where is the new TRAX station?
They're currently building the extension to it. It's the last project on this site: rideuta.com/Rider-Info/Construction-Projects
They need TRAX inside to get around🤣
Worst airport terminal I've ever been in. Absolutely.
