I don't understand where you guys figured there was a need for another capture device came when just about every modeler has one and capturing it kind of sold on a lie. Captures offer a snap shot of someone else's settings... So the guy in the video could get a 2-5k rig, capture it and then play a song he wrote with those particular settings because his settings were captured. If I buy this box, I play on a capture, and the more I change the settings, the less like the thing I "wanted" I end up having. Very interesting small footprint modeler that may work or integrate well on a pedal board. Seems somewhat limited than other modelers but that maybe a good thing. However the fact that it does not even have a small screen kind of leaves me wondering. However since it interfaces to a tablet that maybe good enough. For live gigs you really have no time to do a lot of tweaking anyway. Will just have to wait to see how this plays out but at that price point seems it should do well.
Look I'm a singer and I apriciate the xlr in but come on like we play guitar live to would it kill to put a mono xlr out on there because at the price that would be amazing but due to this it forces me and probably allot of others towards separate products with lesser featurs but more featured hardware
I was intrigued until I learned it doesn’t have amp models, only captures which are rubbish compared to modelling. I’ll hold out for the new Fractal nano thingy that will be released before the holidays.

Legit, 1 pedal with all your amps and cabs, a second pedal for reverb/delay and another for distortions... You guys would make a killing. But instead it's a capture device, why?
Not every device is for everyone, bro
@@baseboardmatt It goes both ways, you don't sound smart pointing out what everyone already knows. If you like it, buy it, I'm not saying you shouldn't... I'm giving feedback directly to the company that they made something most people only looked at because they hoped it was something else.
There's no need because Neural are making a killing with the NC right now.
Why didnt you just put a damn screen on the thing?
ok ok is fine... the tuner without the notes...
Don’t you have an iPhone?
Man, the bitching about this device is incredible
@@baseboardmatt You would think after running around saying the same things over and over you might pick up on why so many are disappointed. Yet here you are... still out of touch despite people explaining their positions clearly.
@@FEV369 I just see a lot of crying eyes. Just because multiple people say the same things doesn’t make them correct or valid. Send an email to Neural DSP if you want change. Posting on social media is a performative drool down a dark hole.
Man, guitar players are the worst.
@@baseboardmatt You see what you want to see, you need people to be crying in order to feel better about yourself, the only one crying is you.
People are writing to Neural in one of the best ways possible. A comment section has vastly more sway than a few emails because people are much less likely to write into a company if they think they are in a small minority. A comment section allows people to see that their thoughts are shared, this allows them to expand on their thought in many ways, seriously, comically, angrily ect.
Here we see that you are in a tiny minority, and Neural will see that too... Going forward they can try and appease the few or the many. If the many were silenced as you would like to see, then the company would have little idea what they did wrong and the evolution would be stunted.
You are not the deep thinker you clearly want to be perceived as on this topic.
Thanks for teaching us how to use knobs!!! I didn’t know they went both directions 😅
I feel like a child who sees a fantastic new toy
I have the QC and love it but got the Kemper player profiler for the digital backup rig to any tube rigs I’d bring out with me. Def going to give this a spin!
no fx loop? Damn, that sucks.
Maybe this device isn’t for you then.
Great! Simple, light and good!
Now I just want to be able to tweak it live without stooping. Ie: have some remote control knobs and switches on my guitar. Any ideas?
very thorough and detailed video, great playing Jon,
and another great device from Neural ✌
Very interesting small footprint modeler that may work or integrate well on a pedal board. Seems somewhat limited than other modelers but that maybe a good thing. However the fact that it does not even have a small screen kind of leaves me wondering. However since it interfaces to a tablet that maybe good enough. For live gigs you really have no time to do a lot of tweaking anyway. Will just have to wait to see how this plays out but at that price point seems it should do well.
THE OPENING SONG IS INCREDIBLE! Serious Arch Echo vibes!!! Will this be available to stream?
I wish I knew if every playing sample was using pre-loaded presets or if John made them. They do sound really great so I hope they’re factory.
Digital John!
I’ll hold out for the new Fractal nano thingy that will be released before the holidays.
every modeller is just a ton of captures put together...
Go John! 🙌
save 300$ and buy a tonex one instead yall seriously missed the mark on this one.
Sorry - that's apples and oranges. Tonex One is just an amp sim. This is an entire rig with fx and capture capability.
The NueralDSP Capture tech is way better than tonex. With tonex there are many fault points in the capture process if you don’t know what you’re doing. Having the NanoCortex do it all-in-one minimizes the chance of getting a bad capture.
@@zut25 Well, I know what I am doing making Tonex captures. And I have heard plenty of comparisons with captures where the Tonex holds up just fine and in fact exceeds the fidelity of QC captures - granted by people who know what they are doing.
@@BigDancin 🙄
@@BigDancin I don't know why people are rolling eyes on you here lol. It's pretty proven by now that Tonex is capable of making more accurate captures than QC. However, I have Tonex and QC and I only use QC for anything because Tonex lacks low cut and high cut eq. That's a pretty hideous oversight for a device that is intended for live use and they aren't listening to feedback. I'm not a huge fan of Neural (I'm Neu(t)ral about them lol), but I'm even less of a fan of IK Multimedia.
I was eager to love this and was excited when it was released, but to be honest, the TONEX is superior, even though the TONEX process is nowhere near as straightforward.
🤩🤩🤩WOW
I'll wait the Quad Cortex Black and Gold in November
Sticking with kemper 😂
See, folks, that right there is how you demo a piece of gear. So many folks on YT who are just basically gear collectors and can't play worth a damn.
I had to check my calendar to see if today is the first of April, but no...
Please, is there any chance you'll unlock the capture input for a regular input and allow me to use the input and output as a loop? Being able to place a multi fx or a switcher anywhere in the signal chain would make this an instant buy for me..
@NeuralDSP could you produce Quad cortex (full version) into the rack 2U or better 1U (nobody from the big players have it) format for the bands who use all in one rack :-)
Are we gonna get at least taptempo opcion? i can’t live without taptempo
I can´t ever see myself wanting guitar gear that needs a phone.
lol. This seems cool but I agree. I need another app like I need a tumor.
Does this need a phone? Isn't that only if you want to get captures from their app?
@@iurigrang I think it works as a surrogate for the quad cortex's built in screen. I honestly have never even seen a quad in person but based on vdemos and stuff I've watched the screen seems pretty integral to the unit and subsequently the app seems integral to this thing.
I could be wrong though.
The phone is to set your rigs up for a gig, not to use during a gig.
The problem is how do you gig this Nano with only two rigs and two footswitches, no Banks, no Performance mode.
@@guitartoneSAMaybe if you only need one or two presets the whole show, could see it being useful then if you use NDSP plugins in the studio, capture the dry amp rhythm tone, make an in-the-box IR of the cab settings and you're good to go. I would get it for that but I need a doubler so no dice.
Digital jooooohhhhnnn
@NeuralDSP is there a tap tempo function with Nano Cortex?
Digital John!👁️👄👁️
Shiiittttt 🤘🤘🤘
Archetype: Neural DSP mistaken us again and again
No User generated IRs showing in my app. Only 10 Factory IRs as well.
I’m just worried the app gets dropped and this becomes a paperweight in like 5 years.
Yeah that's basically why I got the GT1KCore from boss. It gets updates but it already has everything you need straight out of the box. No computer or phone needed.
$549 and you think you’re still using it? By then your brain will be the controller and you’re done!
Can I somehow take the archetype plugin with me on a stage? Is it possible with nano or quad cortex? I am just getting started with tones. Thank you.
So it's predominantly a recording equipment?
Putting fx loop would have such a good move for using this on pedalboard.
Kinda defeats its potential of being a grab and go rig. It has nearly everything you need you can’t capture. Of course there’s the QC if you really need the FX loop.
@@patrickmcgillicuddy9227if it was supposed to be a grab and go rig, they should have added more buttons than the two. I have a clean, clean delay, dirt and dirty delay/reverb sound and a solo lead tone. I don't know how I'm going to be able to get that with the one pedal.
@@metalskinn460 I don’t know how either, but that’s easily done with a QC. Get one of those, like I said previously.
Really, no compressor??
Would have been nice to have a small screen to show preset names at least.
So a quad cortex?
@@catastrophic82 no that one has a large screen
Digital John !!
Can you conect it to a power amp as a preamp and at the same time connect to the PA with a cab sound?
What's the difference of creating a capture on the device vs cloud app?

Does this work with the PC interface where you can set everything up?
I would imagine so but idk
I have heard, no.
