Twister is fun, yes. I like how the balls stack in the spinner / magnet in the center. I used to play it quite a bit at the movie theater. Thanks for watching! :)
I've played this machine in real back in 1996 when I was on vacation in France (St. Jorioz, Annecy) in a campsite arcadehal where it was standing between a Dr. Dude and a Rollergames machine. I liked it rightaway. Then I never played it again until I discovered VPinMAME / Visual Pinball which made me possible to play it again, being a emulated replica. About a week ago I've completed it's basic and Wizard goals in Williams Pinball Classics for XBox360. Nice movie you made about this table.
Pat Lawlor is the king of pinball design IMO. Whirlwind is probably my second favorite table ever, after Twilight Zone (which Lawlor also designed). Love your collection BTW.
@elchivato23 Ha ha. Ugh, yes....to me....the money MM's go for is CRAZY. Ha ha. Glad I snuck mine when I did. You know? Thanks for watching and commenting my friend!
So Chris, your video yet again inspired me to buy a Whirlwind! Never played it as a kid, but after seeing it on your DVD, it looked like a game I just had to own. I played it at a friend's house and he's willing to part with it. Going to do a playfield swap on this one (deal includes a nicer diamondplate playfield), quite the chore, but it'll look great once it's done! The other machine your DVDs inspired me to buy was a TAF. I hated it as a kid because it really whooped my behind. Love it now!
Interesting display effect on the outro shot on the Earthshaker machine. Guess it was just scrolling some info into the display and you had a long exposure time on your camera ;)...
@JacobRuefer Thanks so much my friend. I truly appreciate it. I actually wish I could have done a better job "lighting" things. I was in such a hurry (and that basement has ZERO light). Things are a bit "hot" at times....but....yeah, I know. I'm being overly critical. Ha ha. Thanks again!
@seneca175 Yes, really. Have you ever seen the ones at Pinball Expo that show up now and again....where someone put the industrial fan on the top so it's SUPER windy? Ha ha . I wish I could play that someday. Lol!
Great production! I like how you incorporated previous video for the story. Whirlwind to me, is second only to Funhouse. I think I played both on location at an arcade in the Richmond area years ago, and I was hooked.
@starsoldier1 Yeah, when I moved I shot almost all my games (before packing them away). I actually am going home in August to film the few I didn't get to....
thanks for the comment man :) you are awesome dude and u've got an awesome collection! do you still have all the machines? as I said I'm from the netherlands, pinball machines are a lot cheaper here :P Im only 17 yrs old now and I'm a pinball fan since I was about 12. I got a williams Comet, a High Speed and a Police Force now. I'm saving up for a whirlwind or an Indiana Jones now. I hope to see new videos from u again!
hey man, you still don't see too much double pop bumper sets. really cool video. so whats the status of your relocation? are the pins all blazing again?!
I have one of these in desprate need of restoring but I just need the time to do it. I also have the Earthshaker that I let someone use for a show in Phoenix. It was left in the sun for 9 hours in the middle of July (how ironic). Long story short, goodbye ramps and fired employee :)
Since you seem to like this one a lot, what are your thoughts about Sega's "Twister" pin? I've always considered the Twister pin to be sort of an unofficial sequel to Whirlwind myself.
First I like to say i love all of your video's ! I need a bit of advice : I can trade a williams Dirty Harry pinball machine in good condition for a whirlwind in good condition with the topper. Is it a good deal ? Thanks in advance for your help.
@denBlackie OOoh my....that's a good question. Dirty Harry is a lot "deeper" in the rules, is a DCS sound system game, has a dot matrix....you know? But, Whirlwind is a classic. If the WW is in good shape and working 100%, I'd say it's a fair trade "IF" you love WW so you'll get the trade value out of it. You know? Me personally I would because I Like WW better than DH, but that's just personal opinion. Thanks a lot!
@spida1a Thanks for your opinion ! He wanted to sell it as well for a good price :) it was recently restored , looks brand new so I'm going to buy the Whirlwind and trade my DH later.
oh man i really love whirlwind, i don't own it but i have this video game with whirlwind, taxi, funhouse, gorgar, space shuttle, fire power, black knight, jive time, pin bot, and sorcerer. so yeah whirlwind is my favorite.
Some part of me would feel still.. sad, if you had to let this collection go. :/ It wasn't easy to afford such machines back when you bought them, and remains so today..
Great review. I´m playing this one in the Williams Hall of Fame.
I have watched most of your pinball videos multiple times
Nice video. I used to play this and cyclone at my local bowling alley in the early 90's.
Cyclone?
You had me at that
Twister is fun, yes. I like how the balls stack in the spinner / magnet in the center. I used to play it quite a bit at the movie theater. Thanks for watching! :)
my favorite pinball machine of them all... looks like rain...classic
@pingeek777 Thanks a lot my friend. I shot the segments pretty quickly so...I am thankful I had enough photos and footage to fill the gaps. Hah a. :)

Thanks for watching!

Oh man!! Awesome. Ha ha. Thanks for watching!
@gtq838 Hey, thanks for watching! :) :)
Thank you for another great review,Chris
@TheCrulZ2348 Sure is, yeah. I was hoping to get one of the "Cubs" translites but to no avail over the years, ha ha. :)
Nice! I love the FM tunes. :)
Interesting display effect on the outro shot on the Earthshaker machine. Guess it was just scrolling some info into the display and you had a long exposure time on your camera ;)...
@hydrolisk1792 Ha ha!! Thanks for watching!
Sorry to make you spend money. Ha ha! But, I'm glad you are enjoying it! Thanks for watching!

This is awesome. You have an amazing pinball collection!
Great machine I'm waiting for mine in a few days, this is the first system 11, into my collection
Chris, the lights go crazy when you get jackpots.
@starsoldier1 Yeah, when I moved I shot almost all my games (before packing them away). I actually am going home in August to film the few I didn't get to....
@NadrianATRS Ha ha. I can't even remember. I just remember they shot, like, twenty seconds or something and I got hold of it once. :)
Funny thing is, My first job was also at a resterant. really neat machines, it makes remember some my pinball experinces
5:57 Is no one going to talk about how there is Twilight Zone music lol
(and btw I love your videos)
A very nice game, especially on a very hot summer's day.
Thank's again for this presentation Chris!!! Very cool :o)
@spida1a Someone once attached a friggin' leaf blower on their topper!
Now this one i have played a few times and the one thing that always stood out about it to me was that fan! lol.
Those spinning disks in the playfield reminds me of FIREBALL pinball machine..
As well as TWISTER..
Whirlwind is inspired by Fireball.
@robertjohncartlidge Cool! Thanks my friend.
I want a whirlwind pinball machine
thanks for the comment man :)

That fan on top must be nice while playing on really hot days.

Thank You soo much Chris!!! A+ Review as usual!
@samo0701 HERE IT COMEEEESS!!!!!
@elchivato23 Well, I do not currently own it. But, Lethal Weapon is a great game! :)
Since you seem to like this one a lot, what are your thoughts about Sega's "Twister" pin? I've always considered the Twister pin to be sort of an unofficial sequel to Whirlwind myself.
I like the blower fan at the top.

I still play this like nute on Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection for the Wii
Im sorry , Im dutch. I love your videos but what do you mean by "it was kind of a CD place" or something? :P
Love it.
@denBlackie OOoh my....that's a good question. Dirty Harry is a lot "deeper" in the rules, is a DCS sound system game, has a dot matrix....you know? But, Whirlwind is a classic. I noticed a lot of your pinball video are filmed last year, is that because the tables are stored away to preserve them?
As always Awesome review :-)
I used to play this on my college campus. The ball used to really stick to the plate when it was spinning. There was no sticker.
I have one of the cubs one, is that hard to find?
oh man i really love whirlwind, i don't own it but i have this video game with whirlwind, taxi, funhouse, gorgar, space shuttle, fire power, black knight, jive time, pin bot, and sorcerer. so yeah whirlwind is my favorite.
Maegan Sargeant oh you mean pinball hall of fame the Williams collection for the Xbox 360 cause I have it as well.
I love whirlwind too
Don’t you have the roller coaster series by Williams comet cyclone and hurricane
I have a hurricane
Lucky
@KesorodaBlk Yes, it can.
Hey you should open your own pinball arcade like the one in Las Vegas
Good game to play if you need to cool off, too.
Feel the power of wind
I wish I could've got footage of myself working when I was young. lol.
@kotogo does it surprise you the same video taper of 15 years ago would wind up owning the games and make pro edited youtube videos ;]
So... As I said, I got my whirlwind a month ago. Does anybody know if it can make attract sounds via the set up?
I remember playing whirlwind at this 🍕 place called martinellis
did you know that the guy on there in the weather van is actuly pat lawler
Some part of me would feel still.. sad, if you had to let this collection go. :/ It wasn't easy to afford such machines back when you bought them, and remains so today..
This guys electric meter is liquid cooled.
Ha ha. "Seedy place" means....like, a bit disgusting. Ha ha. :)
You used to work at subway
I might work there all you do is make sandwiches
@nlafavore Good to know! When under pressure, one must keep their cool, or lose the battle! :)
I wonder if the fan would keep a player cool?
