    Awesome, thank you. Never thought of doing it that way, always thought of the do-it molds but yours is easier, no melted lead, and if I want I can use a can of spray paint to paint them too.

      Powder painting them is easy to if you want different color lead heads.

    i have seen some older folks do this but not the plastic addition for soft plastics. they have done it mainly to tie hair jigs. neat!

    Mustad 32833NP for the win. I have a lot of confidence in them. There's nothing worse than a hook straightening out on you. Thanks tons for the tutorial!

    Have made 20-30 this way. Instead of super glue I grab the eye with a forceps. Heat the head over a candle for about 10 seconds and dip it into powder coat paint. Shake off excess. Normally there is enough heat in the head to leave a nice perfectly painted head. Ohh and you can mix and make your own colors also. I combined a silver, a chrome and a green to get a very minnow looking head.
    Once cooled add feathers, bucktail and maybe some flash chenille and you have yourself a winner!

      Most of the local tackle shops carry them, if you are local, Joe tackle, Sabre tackle, Pioneer, Regal, Sincere all carry them

    You know, if you use smooth pliers without grip-teeth, you'll have smooth flat sides on the leads to add eyeball stickers, it's what I do. I do this with a standard metal C-clamp though and I've never had to use crazy glue. And I also do this with bullet split-shot + 60° jig hooks to make baitfish-shaped jigheads on the cheap; screw in some tiny eye-bolts from the hardware store with some swivels & blades attached and you'll have really super mega cheap underspins!!

    • @BCSGFishing
      @BCSGFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to try with a smooth pliers next time and stick some eyes on them, sound like it could be awesome! The underspins are a great idea too!

      The next best improvement after doing all the above said great ideas are done is you get paint powers dips that you heat up the lead jig with a lighter dip in the container ,it fuses to the jig head with a hard coating In any color you want including UV enhancement or glow fluro ....

    • @BCSGFishing

      Edward Püzlemann most tackle shops carry the big ones, fishing buddy, regal, pioneer etc. Its the mid sized ones like size 3 that are hard to find for me.

  • @laurentm7416
    @laurentm7416 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    HI Mr BCSG and thanks for sharing the tips. which sizes do you recommend for Mustad ultra point hook ( or gamakatsu) ?

    • @BCSGFishing
      @BCSGFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on the size of the soft plastic you are using, do you have any in mind?

    • @laurentm7416
      @laurentm7416 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually smaller are from 2" to 3" (5-7.5 cm) like twin tail grub, and the max sizes are 4" to 4.5" (12cm)
      hard to find hooks like that in SG except from amazon (your advice) but small sizes cannot be shipped (or switch to Owner brand or Gamakatsu( more expensive). I found some split shot lead ( 4gr (few) & 8gr) in a city center store but not so easy to find a store able to sell split shot like 10 or 15 gr
      Mustad Size 1; 1/0; 2/0; 4/0 are ok ? or I also need a smaller size like 2 or 3 (owner)?
      thank you

    • @BCSGFishing
      @BCSGFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Laurent M i would go with size 4 or 6 for the twin tail grubs and possibly 1/0 or 2/0 for the larger 4-4.5" baits. You could go with 3/0 even but the hooks may be so thick that you'd have to set the hook really hard to dig it in. Size 4 and 6 should ship to Singapore, i know 8 and 10 are hard to find for international shipping.

    They sell jighead molds online. You melt your own lead and pour into the mold with whatever hooks you want.

    What’s the bead for?? Glow in the dark??

    • @BCSGFishing
      @BCSGFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ch44yuan nah it is to hold the soft plastic on the jighead, but if u use transparent soft plastics it could be useful for glow in the dark
