Thank you. Flying over this and realizing just what these people were like and had to live through is something not everyone can appreciate. We appreciate your comment and thanks for watching!
Another awardable video with superior videography, composition, editing, and narration. What a team! To share this with each other and also take the time to present it to us is admired. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for being born after antibiotics and corrected vision. When we visit out west, I am acutely reminded of how difficult and painful mere existence was. Knowing what we know, we can’t help but feel glad for ourselves and sorry for them at times. My early years in 3rd world countries allowed me to note that if one never had something and didn’t know it existed one did not miss it. living as they did was all they knew. They could not compare it to as much as we can, so had fewer thoughts of “different”. We all still use dreams and religion though. Their lives improved over time as has ours, though not as dramatically, by consciously and subconsciously making dreams become reality. You and I get to fly! I had hopes of getting into a car and having it transport me while I read or slept. I am saddened that I will probably never see it. Did one of their elders feel saddened that a newer implement was not working quite well enough, and how and when it would be changed and make their child’s life better? Sorry for the long reply as your presentations give me not only beautiful images and information to feed my imagination and boost my desires, but also provide nourishment for contemplation.
That is exactly what i was looking for. i can see you have the appreciation of feeling their pain and hardship. It was difficult flying over one thing for 20 minutes and making a video out of that. However, being there back in time is where we were trying to take everyone. Not everyone is willing to imagine the journey. Thanks for watching and thanks for the reply.
This is why we fly. That is another fantastic video Diane, …Roger. Thank you for the many hours put into it. It brings quite a number of emotions (for me) with it as I recognize the harsh living arrangements and purposeful daily labor of scraping together an existence. It took many generations to build something that continues to weather the elements. It should also provide some retrospective thought to our present day fortunes of convenience.
@@larsonadventures580 Not the trike. It's gone quite cold here in CT again. I went and flew a couple hours refresher training with Larry in May, and as soon as I got back when I was going to fly the trike, I had a sticking throttle cable issue that took some time to get fixed. Then I needed to comply with the service directive (1003) and replace and relocate the throttle return springs and then I had a battery that kept wanting to fail right as I was finishing my run up. I was charging it on a trickle charger, but the battery was bad, so it was only lasting long enough for me to start up, warm up, run it up, and then about the time I would go to takeoff everything would go black because the battery Had run down. This happened on two attempted flights. After I checked all the fuses under the instrument pod, Larry suggested that likely the battery was bad. I had to wait for the new battery and install that, and By the time all this stuff was was squared away, I got about 10 hours of flying in before it started to get really cold rainy and windy again, as late fall does here in CT. It's been a bunch of shit luck for me with getting the trike up again this year, right when I was starting to finally get more comfortable in the bumps and after having some bumpy air time with Larry. I will get her up again, but it's not been a good summer here for me with the trike this year. 👎🏻
@@AV8R_1 So sorry to hear of all your challenges with your trike. We have been flying in 35-40 degrees with our heated gear, but then it warms up to 50-60 within a few hours. That is about the coldest we like to fly.. if the sun is out to help keep warm. Hopefully you will have a better spring flying.
So glad we met you at the ruins hike last week. We've enjoyed a few of your videos now and will watch more. This one is especially meaningful cuz in 2 weeks we'll be camped nearby as we do twice a year. Many thinks. L&M
Hey, Thanks for saying hello. I would have loved to flown out to the camp spot and flown over and wave from the air. I love it out there. So much history in that area. Where are you both going next?
Hey Roger and Diane; I love this video! Yes, trying to sleep in that cave near Camp Verde, years ago was an experience. We wanted to know what it was like for those people way back then. It made me appreciate the modern conveniences that we have today. I really like the music you have in the video also.
Thanks sis for watching. Thanks for the comments. That was a very interesting experience staying in the caves. The fire created a draft and made me colder on the side away from the fire and if I got too far away from the fire all of my body was cold. The smoke was the worst though. I am surprised we didn't die doing that or get some terrible lung disease.
I think it was hard living, yet knowing nothing else makes it just living. An alternate theory on such places, not sure about this stronghold, is that they were food storage areas. The living, farming and battles were elsewhere and the strongholds were built in remote areas to add to the protection. Anyway, I hope to see some more of your adventures soon. Maybe someday see you flying over.
Oh ya, I have an adventure for you. AK Chin regional airport. There is a hang glider aerotow operation, with runways on one side, a PPG school on the other side. People land and fly trikes out of the hang glider park, as the HG instructor is also a trike instructor. Sonora wings is the place. I'll be camping there, flying on the 28th. (Still a tandem student) and looking up. Website has contact info if you want to know runway length. Man, that would be too cool to see a Larson Adventure of it.
Will you be at Arizona flying circus this year? If so look for us and come say hello. Larson adventures. One vehicle we will have there is our white jeep.
Excellent as usual, Diane and Roger… NatGeo worthy! Your hangar neighbor.
Thanks for watching. It is a pleasure to be your neighbor!
Wow NatGeo! Thanks!!! 😊
Thanks for taking me along
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it.
Well done!!!
Thanks for watching Jason!

Another amazing video from Larson Adventures!! This is a valuable piece of history too, with a wonderful writting and narration. What an adventure!!
Luis! Again thanks for watching and for commenting. Our viewers make our trips more enjoyable knowing they are in the seat flying with us.

Thank you great video! I often wonder about living in a day that the worries and concerns was to stay alive.
Thanks. Yes we can only imagine.
Totally awesome 😎

Yes, that's for sure! Just think of their whole lives, breathing in that smoke. They had no choice.
