I’m seconding whoever mentioned needing to rewatch and making a list of the MAL and ideas of yarns and projects that sprang to mind. Might also be time to make a Facebook account so I can join in on the chats.
I will have a typed list in the FB group, if you shoot me an email, I can send it to you too. I will also be doing a monthly video for the MAL talking about my plans and explaining the why the theme too!
Sounds like a great plan!!!! I love that you have given us a idea of what to do and what to use!!! I bought some from little knits that I have been eyeballing for a "special project" just for myself!!! Thinking that will be my first project in January!!! Thanks Carrie for the ideas!!! Merry Christmas to everyone!!! God Bless!
So many of these work together and don't exclude. Like single skeins a lot of times are those special skeins as well; making gifts could be from kits we are sitting on; new techniques could also be using cotton... So I thought they all play well together!
This sounds like a lot of fun. So, I will commit to participating. I usually don't but these ideas just seem so in line with where my thinking has gone for next year that I feel the call, LOL.
I think it is organized, but super low key. I don't want to make this stressful for me or for you guys! It is just a fun new way to think about what to make especially when you hit a dry spell.
Hey Carrie! I'm excited to participate in your year long MAL! I have a series on my channel called my Merry & Bright project that features a good yarn made into a project! 💙🎉
This sounds like such a fun and productive list. I really need to use stash, especially the good yarn. I was already planning to do a project in January with the hand-dyed yarn advent I’m opening this month.
Prefect!!! That is also another reason I wanted to start with the new/good yarn! This time of year we either find the deep sales, we are gifted or we ask for some AMAZING things. I really wanted to start off the year with a self treat!
I like your thought out stash projects misc ideas. I'm looking forward to March to go back to making cotton thread tops again. Come July I may go to doing plain bags to carry groceries in.
Cotton was such a funny thing. There were so many comments about cotton stash and a few DMs too. Apparently a lot of us are hoarding cotton we aren't reaching for.
@HappyCraftyHomemaker I have the size 3 fashion cotton thread. I made one top last year and have 3 or more tops tucked away in Fashion #3 some thread to make some more cotton tops. When it gets too hot to crochet anything, I will switch to crocheting the plastic walmart bags cut in strips and latched together.
I needed this today. I am working on burning through my yarn stash. I have plans for most of it, but I have Caron Simply Soft that I do not like using. It is too splitty and can be heavy. I will pull those skeins out and offer them to people at work. It will give me more storage to reassign. I try not to buy just because. I am finally learning to knit, so hopefully I will have more variety to donate. Merry Christmas, happy holidays. I meant to send cards, but..
We all have things like that in our stashes. We loved it at one time, but now we just aren't excited by it any more. Toni, I didn't make or send any cards this year. It has been BANANAS in our house... I cannot believe I even have run out of time to send store bought cards... I have just been non stop for months!
So motivated by this MAL. As you described each month, I was picking out projects, stashes to destash, etc. I already had a list of upcoming to-do's. However, you gave me some thought prompts. I prefer to think of them as 'kick in the pants' prompts. 😂
I have so many things in mind!! I need to start writing down my list of things now so I don't forget where I want to start from. I love idea prompts, that is really how I use my goals list.
I am so excited!!! I think it hits kind of all of the places in our stash. I almost made one our neglected weight of yarn, but that feels like a slog, but since we aren't reaching for it maybe it is better phrased for the deep stash dive...
I do too, it really is one of the best ways to practice new things in my opinion! If you mess up, you still have a dish cloth, it just might be the one you use to clean the bathroom, not a gift.
So many ideas my brain feels like mashed potatoes 😅. Will rewatch with pen and paper to write down ideas and my plans. If I don't, we'll my brain goes on a vacation 😅😅
Some of your “thought prompts” line up perfectly with plans I had already made for next year’s crafting. I will be joining in. I do not use Facebook currently; will you be using email as well for the MAL?
Excellent plan! I’m looking forward to jumping on several of these. After Christmas I’ll start thinking about which special yarn to use - there’s so much of it!! 🧶💙🧶

I will be doing monthly videos for them as well as typing out a list. The FB group is mega chill!!
This is so exciting Carrie! Sounds like a lot of fun. Thank you!
I am so excited!!!!
I’m so inspired watching this. I have so much yarn and this is after gifting and donating a lot. I’m ready for a reset! Happy Holidays! ❤
I am really hoping that by the end of the year we all are ready for a full reset for 2026 and don't ever feel stressed out by these MALs!
I am so excited about Project 2025!! I’m in!
I am so excited! This has been the second most fun planning I have ever had (first being Spook Your Spring!).
So many great ideas for using up my stash! Definitely will rewatch and take notes so I keep on task in 2025!!

I am so in! I have watched the video twice and now need to again after while to make a list. I’m going now to find the FB group. Thank you Carrie! ❤
I will have a typed list on the FB group as well as monthly videos to announce the new MAL.

I think it is important for us all to treat ourselves!

This sounds very exiting and fun
I am so excited! I really did spend a lot of time thinking about what I thought would be the most helpful for you all as well as myself!
I'm on board. Let's do this! 😁

Looking forward to i, very good choices for the new year... Hugs~ Lea
I am so excited!!
Christmas in July!
Single skeins make perfect gifts too! I want to knit matching socks for my husband and me in July. I got the yarn in November.
I have a blind date with a skien I got. It would be great for July single skein project.
That sounds like a plan!!!
I use wash clothes to learn and pratice new stitches.
I do too, it really is one of the best ways to practice new things in my opinion! If you mess up, you still have a dish cloth, it just might be the one you use to clean the bathroom, not a gift.
All sounds great. After I’m done with Christmas makes, it’s on to my husband’s blanket & hopefully no more blankets for a very long time. 😂
LOL! I have a love hate with blankets.

I will have a typed list in the FB group as well as doing monthly videos to introduce the new MAL every month.

If you shoot me an email, I would be happy to send you a copy once I type it all up!!

I have my project picked. I caked the yarn this morning finally. I also filmed in the intro video!!! I am vibrating with excitement!!
