Finally someone who acknowledges the alternating between open and 2 in the intro, I swear almost every one swears he does the open 2nd fret version the whole time
Hola Gabriel! Me encanta tu trabajo!
Saludos, Gustavo!
Great job. Just wondering if you have any idea how duff got his Gibson les Paul bass he used in 1993. I can get his tone with my fenders jbs but not with my les paul bass
Hmm, but in 93’ when he used the Les Paul Bass it is notable that there was a little difference in his sound. You can “see” the low midrange characteristic of Les Paul Bass mahogany, specially on Saskatoon 93’ concert.
Good effort with those down-strokes for the entire song, takes some endurance! Nailed the tone with the right amount of grit and chorus. I've been working on this one and your playing shone some light on a few parts. Great cover man. Q: With the intro riff, I thought there might be an F-pull off for the E section.. I reckon I hear a half step there, what's your thoughts?
Yeah! My favorite of all his basses since I saw on Paris 92’ when I was a kid. I thought this bass had been lost or destroyed, but when I saw it’s still “alive”, I made my own version! 🙏🏻
Además de eso, tocar las cuerdas siempre "down down down down down". Suerte! - Abrazo!

Steven on drums of this studio version, and the song is from their early years, if I'm not mistaken. Nice bass, sound and playing, dude!
It’s Matt, but yes this song originally was written in 87’ or so. I think Matt made the intro part.

one of the great cover of this song, i like a lot. where did you find the graphic for the sticker ?
Excelente!
Gracias! Nada nada, parámetros de fábrica, amigo. Un abrazo, cuídate.

Hi , super playing! Top ! One question? How u set the compressor and chorus in spx 90? What kind of chorus?
Thanx!

Compression comes from the SSL 4000G channel plugin that I used for mixing my bass sound. Many thanks for watching! ⚡️
Does anyone know a general idea of what the bass settings for the tone should be?
Both pickups on full and tone open/max. Chorus pedal with slower rate and high depth + a bit of amp tweaking to taste.
@@Farewelltokingz Cheers, that’s helped a lot.
What setting is decent on the 800rb plugin? I can't seem to strike the balance of good highs and percussive low end. It is infuriating.
Ottimo lavoro Mister Gabriel McKagan, fenomenale! Ps puoi fare Chinese Democracy
Grazie Mille!
usa qual set de caixa no plugin ??? usa biamp ?
Hi, i got the same type of bass, the Fender Jazz Special, what type of set up use, the strings are high or low? thanks
I’m now using Rotosound RS66LD .45 - .105
Particularly I like the strings very near of the fretboard.
Gabriel, could you please, advise to me your SPX Chorus B parameters. MOD.FRQ, DM and AM deph, balance, output level? Many thanks in advance.
Thanks for your message. So, It’s the stock settings, I did not change anything at all.
What is that pick holder on your headstock ?
It is a kind of thin v-shaped plastic with double-sided tape.
I don't know exactly how it was made. I got this as a gift from a friend many years ago.
Hey Gabriel what kind of effects are you using a chorus or a flanger?
Hey, it’s the “Chorus B” from the Yamaha SPX90 rack unit. ⚡️
@@GabrielBarberato right on thanks
is that the Olympic Pearl color on the body? Man, its so hard to find that guitar on the interenet.
It’s the White Pearl Duff McKagan Signature bass. Bought this brand new in 2012, but I guess you can still find some used ones on Reverb.

Hey good Buddy, are you using the Yamaha SPX90 with this? If so the Chorus B right?
Exactly! Chorus B stock settings. :)
@@GabrielBarberato that's what I thought. I got the Duff bass, SPX90, plus HK 800RB and now saving up for a GK RBH 4x10
@@johnhareiel5118duff used 15s or 12s most of the time with GNR. Very different outcome. Cabs affect tone more than amp head will

Hey, it’s half step down! (Eb Ab Db Gb).
Not a single false note.
Hi , nice! I’ve bought alliance plugin, i send me a picture of settings? Can u send me a picture in private . Thsnxxxx
How much bass have you ?
Actually just 2. :)

Yamaha SPX90 “Chorus B Preset”.
