Are you sure? To say: jazz is improvisation is totally wrong except live sessions. Thinkin' and writin' Jazz is a hard, planning job in studio to lookin' for the best performance built on musicians relationship and their sensibility. This is not only improvisation, is also organisation of all necessary elements from the first, original idea to the final result. Who know and play jazz know it...

@@alessandromarchesini9039 They played the Strack as they watched the scenes so I guess that's improv. Also used these players on some of, if not most on KOB, so I've heard. No matter, it's all great..

They don't translate but I saw the movie, which rarely showed: "Elevator To The Gallows". Much better than "The Lovers" but then, in the 70's he made a number of films that played here.

You are absolutely right. The first track is not Generique from Ascenseur but Fran-Dance from Kind of Blue.
it is because the CD has extra takes.. there are also a couple different takes on the miles Columbia 4 disc box set which is amazing ..comes laid out like an album with a square album sized color insert and the four discs are called
real simple names, like blues , electronic , and I forget the other two right now, but that collection was my go to back in 1990 when I was at emily carr college
