Wow that Fabio Capello story blew my mind. Too right, he wanted you to miss the birth of your child for a friendly, and then tricked you into missing precious time with your newborn with the possibility of playing for England only to make you sit on the bench. I'd be done with him aswell after that.

Rebellion XCI Scholes was a world class player like Gerrard and Lampard, Yet scholes had one of the best prem teams in near enough every season he played, put Gerrard and Lampard in United and they would’ve won the same amount. Bro As an united fan it was my dream to see scholes and bergkamp play in the same team, it never happened but they were the two most elegant players in their era in premier league

Rip Pavel Srnicek. God bless mate. He was a great keeper to watch, a fun guy to listen to and the Toon kits (both keeper and outfield players) were amazing back then. He was definitely one of my faves to watch.

It seems that all the football purists and people in the game rate Scholes the highest. Gerrard and Lampard are club legends but are more “English”. I think Scholes draws praise from Pirlo et al. because he’s the closest we had then to a more agile, technically brilliant and “elegant” midfielder more akin to Xavi/Iniesta/Pirlo. Gerrard and Lampard seem more alike as a pair so a direct comparison makes more sense

numbers are up there also considering he played deepeer for a longer time than the other 2 did but scored a lot more than the Xavi's & Pirlo's, guess that was the English in him

Dr Martins league I believe is 12 steps below the Premiership, my town plays there plus I was offered a contract nd know half the players from school. I wouldn't say it's a high level so to hear Ben was just chilling there is mental. Glad he was found I guess a school friend Dan Lewis could've made it he was a fantastic player in school tbh in any sport tbh hardest hitter in rugby. I believe he plays lb
