    Here's what you can do with OTG connector:-
    Connect anything that has a USB port.

      Actually, the OTG connector is the USB port.

    • @PerratheSwede
      @PerratheSwede 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have now been using my note 9 for one month now and I must say that it is a fantastic phone. I bought the 512 GB version with 8 GB ram. I have tried the Samsung DEX and use it paired with a bluetooth mouse and a bluetooth keyboard. The phone is connected to my TV or my computer screen throug a HDMI cable. This works really good. Probably this solution will be the end of heavy laptops. Previously I used to have a Sony Xperia Xz but had problems with low capacity battery and very poor options for connecting gadgets to the USB C connector.

    • @Tuffenough4u

      No, because smartphones have built in BEC (battery elimination circuit) that regulates the rate at which it can charge and discharge to prevent such things from happening.

    So I'm getting that the biggest thing you can do is burn through your battery with no way to charge it except to stop doing what you're doing so you can unplug it and connect a charger.
    Does that thing work with a powered USB hub by chance?
    If so can you plug different things into it and switch back and forth between them?
    And can you keep the phone charged through the powered hub while using it?

    • @RedskullPro

      it's even possible to use an external cd dvd writer on OTG with certain phones, but you do need a cable with the extra male usb to supply power the writer attached to a usb wall charger.

    I've been using my OTG for several things. I connect a SDR to receive rf for a scanner, ADS-B receiver for monitoring air traffic, or just to listen to odd radio frequencies. On the geekier side, as a network admin, I'll use the OTG with a console cable to check routers and switches without having to lug around a laptop.
