Hammer is a terrible way, unless the design is small and thin enough, and then you can sandwich it between plates and bang on the plate. Dies should never be hammered directly and NEVER put in a rolling mill.
It depends. In the case of the flower, I would do that before. If you want the item to bend around the finger, you would put the layers together and then bend.
These are a direct rip of the Potter USA's design, the length, size, hole placements, were years of trial and error to make perfect for hobbyists to get right. I am surprised you have done this video to be fair.
Great Tutorial Melissa,
Total Awesomeness....
👍Thank you for sharing your experience with us 🙏 Wishing you a year full of blessing . Happy New Year 2021🙏
Great video!! Thanks Melissa!
This is such an excellent video❣️ Do you apply some kind of coating to the copper to prevent tarnishing and saving your patina colors?
Thank you. I didn’t on this one. But you can use renaissance wax and you may be able to keep some of the coloring.
Very interested in purchasing this tool but need to know where to find aluminum blocks Ans size of these blocks
Is it possible to use pancake dies with hammers instead of a hydraulic press? What a great video! Thanks Melissa you are awesome
I do not believe you would have luck with a hammer. You need to have more consistent pressure. So you could use a vise for that

Beautiful pieces!
I so wish I had a hydraulic press, but I can’t justify the expense right now.
It is certainly an investment.
Wonderful video thanks a million
My question is , if I put layers in my ring , I should do it before or after I bend de ring ?!?! Thanks !!!

Perfect!!! Thank you so much Melissa!!!!
what kind of belt sander is that?
I believe it is either Alwin or Awin. I think I got it from Micro Mark.
So beautiful. I hope you are doing well.

I have actually spoken with Kevin about this and he is comfortable with what I am doing. ❤️
Technically, I'm the person who has spent years (about 35 so far) perfecting pancake dies , lol , but that's beside the point 😁😊
