I wouldn’t add in pellets during this time if your rabbit is used to not having them. If you currently already fed pellets, I would definitely look into a pellet free diet as it’s much more healthy and natural

Our local farms for hay will remain open. Pet stores are considered a necessity so they won't close. When it comes to veggies, check your smaller local markets ! The ones here have an abundance of veggies. They might be a bit more pricey, but no one seems to be thinking about going to small stores.

I washed her bed the other day and put it in her hidey house and she was fine again til I moved it in the centre of her pen coz I sit on it when I play with her.. she peed on it again after a few hours 😫 She is just recently desexed (2 weeks now), poops everywhere but pees in her tray. She's 3.5 years old with weak back legs that she can't jump, sploot or flop :(

Thank you for this video. Just a tip: you have to slice the brown part off of the bottom of the lettuce or else it won't absorb water and WILL rot, then it's pointless. Follow all the instructions but slice a cenitmeter or so off the bottom... it's just like with cut flowers for them to last and be able to absorb water.

Regrowing my romaine lettuce has definitely been cost effective since I've started feeding my buns veggies. I have also started putting the ones that have grown a few inches of leaves into soil and that has helped growth time, size, and colour of the lettuce. Currently have a lot of pots with lettuce growing everywhere. It won't be as much as needed but it will help giving rabbits some greens instead of none at all.
Hay and recovery food are things I ALWAYS have extras of! And I’m glad I already have plenty of gas drops at home because the stores are all sold out around here! Never a bad idea to keep stasis/emergency meds at home either, if your vet will allow it. Always plan ahead for an emergency! 🐰😊
I'm lucky I have a decent size garden, so I've got access to dandelion, daisy (mine loves the leaves), strawberry, lavender and mint to supplement veg. We've also got coriander in the kitchen, and hopefully the raspberry plants will grow back soon

One the bunnies passed away in the night and we don’t know why. She was a lot smaller than her sister and still seemed like she wanted her mother. The breeders also seemed odd. She also had eye problems. Your prayers and hearts would really be appreciated
Don't worry about that! They may act hungry but they are just big hogs sometimes lol. Just make sure they have hay because that's really what they eat most of the time. Before you go to bed you can give them a treat if it makes you feel better.
Always give your rabbit unlimited hay! They will not eat to much! Rabbits NEED to have hay 24/7 as they must have food in their digestive system at all times or can become very sick. So always have hay available to them! Then just feed veggies 2x a day as meals. If your rabbit is a baby, please be sure to introduce veggies safely and properly. Info on how to feed veggies can be found in the veggie link in the description of this video. :)
They will be fine! You have nothing to worry about if you give them 1-2 salads a day and unlimited hay. You could check with your vet too, if you need extra assurance.
Mahati Sreegiriraju per the house rabbit society veggies can be %10-15 of the diet with hay being %80 and pellets about %10. In an emergency I’m not going to worry too much if veggies aren’t available. They’re only a minimal percentage of their diet.

Luckily I was able to stock up on hay. But I wasnt able to buy veggies and some litter stuff (wood litter and training pads). As soon as the quarantine happened people in my neighborhood started panic buying. We weren't able to buy veggies last week. Even now, we cant buy since the supermarkets already have a long line as early as 6am. I have a few cups of pellets left and luckily my Dad has 2 veggies planted in our garden (but they arent rlly that full of nutrients that's enough for my bunny). The quarantine here in our country (Philippines) is really strict. Only one person per household is allowed to go out, if you dont have the quarantine pass they can arrest you. Which really sucks
If you have access to a lawn, give them more grass. It's got more vitamins and fiber than hay. Safe weeds are also brilliant. You can also grow grass on a window sill.
I am using under bed storage boxes to grow grass and I have planted so bunny safe flowers like pansies. Stocked up on orchard grass and timothy hay, and premium pellets. Sadly I've never met a vet willing to give out medication for just in case situations. You must have a wonderful vet and are very prepared! Critical care is so important! It has saved one of my bunnies lives. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing, I'm just avoiding the outside but scared to go to the store at the same time but need to. I have a plethora of purchased nibble sticks for rabbits from a variety of trees. I’ve given several different ones to my English angora and she will NOT chew on them! I rotate different ones and leave them sitting around, but she totally ignores them. So frustrating! I just don’t get it.
What types of trees? Willow is normally the most enticing. Just because it’s a safe stick to feed doesn’t mean they will enjoy it. Willow and Apple/pear sticks are a big hit around here but you have to make sure they’re organic and not treated with pesticides!
I just recently found your channel, I’m also a bunny mom, I have a Holland Lop named Cocoa, and two Flemish giants named Charlie and Lynx. I started planting a small garden for my bunny babies, bokchoy, dinosaur kale, cilantro, parsley, basil and zucchini. It’s definitely helped as fresh foods were so limited in the beginning of this shut down. Thanks for everything you do 😘

Sadly, my rabbit passed away last month. It’s been kinda hard. I’m also thankful that I don’t have to worry about getting food/hay for him. I thank you for making videos on rabbits and prayers for all the rabbit owners currently. Times are tough right now due to the virus. I’m planning on getting a new rabbit after all of this goes away. Let’s hope this never happens again! I’m taking this time to research more into rabbits. I’m also going to send this video to my friends with rabbits, to help them possibly. We actually had to cut greens out months ago because my rabbits constantly had gas and stasis issues. Havent had an issue since. They have mostly hay and they get pellets daily
so you probably wont see this, but im still going to say what i need to say. thank you so much for teaching me so much about bunnies. i have owned bunnies when i was younger. it was about 2010 when i got my first bunny. when i first started watching your videos, you only had lulu and mocha. my grandparents taught me how to breed bunnies, and ended up naming one of my does lulu, and a buck mocha. in 2015 stopped and got rid of all my bunnies. now, in 2020 i have recently got 2 does, usagi and lucinda. i revisited your channel or the first time in 5 years and im so sorry to hear about mocha. i teared up a bit. i also found out about belle sterling and ebony. they are so cute! im also very sorry about belle. i hope you will see this comment. you have helped me so much throughout the years, and you are literally part of my childhood as i am 12 currently. you probably wont even read this, but thank you so much haley.
Depends on the TH-cam channel. If you are a larger channel sometimes TH-cam will grant you permission. But talking about the virus is against TH-cam’s community guidelines as they don’t want misinformation spread or people making fun of the situation.

Hello, I am from Italy and we are in a very bad and critical situation due to virus :( My first thought went to my bunny, since all vets and pet stores are closed! I was so worried since she has teeth issues and she must eat good quality hay otherwise her teeth would overgrow! I stocked up on GI stasis meds and on hay from amazon and now I'm hoping everything goes well. She couldn't even get her vaccine since the vet is shut down. If i may make a suggestion. Dont over water and put one rabbit poo in each square just off to the side. They are the best ph balanced fertilizer. Thank you for this. Also kale grows good in cold ground even after frost
My bunny came down with snuffles I took him to the vet and he gave him antibiotics. I was wonder if there was any preventative measures you would recommend.
My rabbit won’t eat hay, I adopted him a few months ago and he was never fed hay. I bought Timothy which I know is the best for them, but he has one piece and that’s it. Any suggestions on how to help him learn to eat like a rabbit? He only is used to eating horribly bad food that I eased him off, he loved cabbage, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, herbs and that’s really all. I don’t know to do. He is super healthy now but the hay is driving me crazy. Should I try in his salads? That’s the only thing I haven’t tried.
Hello we are getting back into having a bunny. We have talked with a vet but in my area let just say if it's not a dog or a cat they really don't know.. We wanted to feed non pellet as you do. And vet is on board but you have better information.. Would you have a video or guide you could send me like suggestions on types and amounts for each age group of. Bunny.. My bunnies diet consists of 80% Timothy Hay 20% fruit and veggies and 10% pallets he only gets a full cup a week a pellets that's all he gets plus he's already on some stuff to help he's got an deliver so they don't fail
I started growing lettuce, kale and basil hyproponically, I have been curious to do it anyway because 2 flemish giants take a lot of greens... So this was a good chance to start and they have actually grown so fast 😅 I started like 4 weeks ago and yesterday they ate my lettuce for the first time
For a week we could not find fresh food for my little girls pigs so we foraged for fresh grass and dandilions and just brought what hay we could find and thankfully it was enough managed to find some bell peppers and roman lettuce today and will be getting as much more hay as we can possible find we also used dried herbs as it's a favourite snack for the boys

I think you need to also mention while youre talking about pellets and rabbits that those who do choose to feed pellets for now continue to feed pellets but those on pellet free dont add something just because

If the situation is dire they could do without veggies for a bit. Hay should always be abundant in their diet if you run of everything else:) imo.

I just recently found your channel, I’m also a bunny mom, I have a Holland Lop named Cocoa, and two Flemish giants named Charlie and Lynx. I started planting a small garden for my bunny babies, bokchoy, dinosaur kale, cilantro, parsley, basil and zucchini. It’s definitely helped as fresh foods were so limited in the beginning of this shut down. Thanks for everything you do 😘
Good job Hailey. It will b a good idea to buy 13 tons of hay. Nobody knows when things can get complicated. Or maybe will be another pandemic or virus or disaster in the future.
I did buy a few extra pounds of Hay and I already have forage in and dried some herbs for them 🙂 no bunny will starve in this house 😂 😂

Sadly, my rabbit passed away last month. It’s been kinda hard. I’m also thankful that I don’t have to worry about getting food/hay for him. I thank you for making videos on rabbits and prayers for all the rabbit owners currently. Times are tough right now due to the virus. I’m planning on getting a new rabbit after all of this goes away. Let’s hope this never happens again! I’m taking this time to research more into rabbits. I’m also going to send this video to my friends with rabbits, to help them possibly.

I usually one buy a bag of hay at a time from oxbow. But now I have 3 bags and a bigger box full of hay
Just remember not to over stock. It's not nice to starve other bunnies. Take only what you need.

We actually had to cut greens out months ago because my rabbits constantly had gas and stasis issues. Havent had an issue since. They have mostly hay and they get pellets daily

ps: try to put a smaller amount of earth in each seed starter and if you dont have seed starters you can use egg shells and egg containers.

thank you so much for teaching me so much about bunnies. i have owned bunnies when i was younger. it was about 2010 when i got my first bunny. when i first started watching your videos, you only had lulu and mocha. my grandparents taught me how to breed bunnies, and ended up naming one of my does lulu, and a buck mocha. in 2015 stopped and got rid of all my bunnies. now, in 2020 i have recently got 2 does, usagi and lucinda. i revisited your channel or the first time in 5 years and im so sorry to hear about mocha. i teared up a bit. i also found out about belle sterling and ebony. they are so cute! im also very sorry about belle. i hope you will see this comment. you have helped me so much throughout the years, and you are literally part of my childhood as i am 12 currently.

Depends on the TH-cam channel. If you are a larger channel sometimes TH-cam will grant you permission. But talking about the virus is against TH-cam’s community guidelines as they don’t want misinformation spread or people making fun of the situation.

Hello, I am from Italy and we are in a very bad and critical situation due to virus :( My first thought went to my bunny, since all vets and pet stores are closed! I was so worried since she has teeth issues and she must eat good quality hay otherwise her teeth would overgrow! I stocked up on GI stasis meds and on hay from amazon and now I'm hoping everything goes well. She couldn't even get her vaccine since the vet is shut down. If i may make a suggestion. Dont over water and put one rabbit poo in each square just off to the side. They are the best ph balanced fertilizer. Thank you for this. Also kale grows good in cold ground even after frost
My bunny came down with snuffles I took him to the vet and he gave him antibiotics. I was wonder if there was any preventative measures you would recommend.
My rabbit won’t eat hay, I adopted him a few months ago and he was never fed hay. I bought Timothy which I know is the best for them, but he has one piece and that’s it. Any suggestions on how to help him learn to eat like a rabbit? He only is used to eating horribly bad food that I eased him off, he loved cabbage, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, herbs and that’s really all. I don’t know to do. He is super healthy now but the hay is driving me crazy. Should I try in his salads? That’s the only thing I haven’t tried.
Hello we are getting back into having a bunny. We have talked with a vet but in my area let just say if it's not a dog or a cat they really don't know.. We wanted to feed non pellet as you do. And vet is on board but you have better information.. Would you have a video or guide you could send me like suggestions on types and amounts for each age group of. Bunny.. My bunnies diet consists of 80% Timothy Hay 20% fruit and veggies and 10% pallets he only gets a full cup a week a pellets that's all he gets plus he's already on some stuff to help he's got an deliver so they don't fail

I started growing lettuce, kale and basil hyproponically, I have been curious to do it anyway because 2 flemish giants take a lot of greens... So this was a good chance to start and they have actually grown so fast 😅 I started like 4 weeks ago and yesterday they ate my lettuce for the first time

For a week we could not find fresh food for my little girls pigs so we foraged for fresh grass and dandilions and just brought what hay we could find and thankfully it was enough managed to find some bell peppers and roman lettuce today and will be getting as much more hay as we can possible find we also used dried herbs as it's a favourite snack for the boys
Is it necessary to have a hay rack in a rabbit’s habitat? I’ve noticed many rabbit owners put the hay inside the litter boxes and stuff it into toys. Thanks in advance.

I got two bales of hay for this reason 😂not that what’s going on is funny... but our local store has been reliable for greens still I like getting the spring mix and that is the main thing they always carry
I started planting some lettuce seeds, super easy to do and they can be grown in containers 😄 stocked up on big bags of hay and quality pellets

98% of rabbits die over the winter but I'm sure you think pellets have an even worse survival rate
One of our bunnies passed away in the night and we don’t know why. She was a lot smaller than her sister and still seemed like she wanted her mother. The breeders
also seemed odd. She also had eye problems. Your prayers and hearts would really be appreciated

I think you need to also mention while youre talking about pellets and rabbits that those who do choose to feed pellets for now continue to feed pellets but those on pellet free dont add something just because
