I templar main, and unless you spec into range build which then allows you to go all in on damage some def and no speed.
Any melee templar will need a gap closer as well as some movement speed, other wise you run into situation where people just kite you around with you not landing much of your damage skills and nearly missing most of your light attacks.

I sorta run this same build with Markyn but instead of Wretched I'm using Mara's and im an Orc it's nice but I seem to struggle hitting harder than I want lol

Yeah that sounds good too. I just think overall templar is not in a good spot this patch

How do you keep up with people on this build? The damage looks really nice, but it looks like it deeply lacks movement speed. I am new to Templar though, so I'm not sure if the snares cover you.

The slows helps you catch people. But that is the weakness of this build.
