A report claims India plans to construct 12 hydropower stations in Arunachal Pradesh. This project is expected to cost a billion dollars. India's Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman could announce the new project in Budget speech on July 23. The new hydropower stations will be built to bridge the gap between supply and demand for power. This new project will also help in the development of India's north-eastern state. But today, China has opposed the plan. In an official statement, China said, "South Tibet is China's territory". China has termed the Indian state Arunachal Pradesh as 'South Tibet'. In recent years, China has stepped up its claims on the Indian state - which have no basis in history or backing of the international community. Palki Sharma tells you more.

5 to 6 Years ago people have sacrificed their life protesting against some dam projects cause it was really harmful for the people living nearby and the nature. The migrant birds that seasonally visit the places..not to forget that arunachal is the worst performing state in india when it comes to transparency.
Feels sad because even the mainland indians will likely to not know the danger of the projects and the affairs of arunachal.
Arunachal is not like other north east states ..there is no centralized language in arunachal..manipur has manipuri ,assam assamese and so on....arunachal is way more complex shares border with three different countries...trust me people, arunachal is wayy wayy complex. More than 15 major tribs more than150 minor ones, each with their own language. And the tribs have very different customs and traditions. I might be naive in international relations as im just a high-school pass ..but iam aware of my state affairs.There are already many dams and some still in construction. We have supported such projects as long as if done sustainably,not harmful to the locals living near the rivers for decades. I'm fully aware there is no such thing as100 percent sustainable development some damages will be there but 15 large dams.. for god sake..we have supported building of dams but not time ticking water bomb.
