thank you for showing this!!! how amazing. My husband is Cambodian, his parents both fled cambodia to come to the US because of the genocides. they came to Chicago for their better life and are still there.

21:00 Chris, I'd like to clarify that Pailin is the name of a North Western province in Cambodia that is well known for precious gems. That's why she mentioned sapphire and ruby when speaking about Pailin.

Miss my old home! Grew up there for 33+ years! I remember when Shoreline Village was under developed and the bay (lighthouse region) was a muddy puddle. I use to fly kites there until they built an aquarium. Shoreline was a little magical place for a lot of folks! I love how diverse LBC really is. I wish ppl are more accepting and welcoming of each other, especially in LB. I grew up being hated for being Asian. Which is extremely ridiculous. I had no choice in whatever skin suit I was born into. I can appreciate different cultures. Life is so boring without variety in life, but not everyone is open minded. Glad you’re wiser & above the ridiculous prejudice & societal construct placed on a person. I can tell you that I know Khmer people love you and what you do! We will definitely continue supporting you!! 🎉❤

An absolutely wonderful video. In the Bay Area there is a large Cambodian community and they are kind, hard working. hu,ble and gracious. When l lived in Fresno l found out there is also a large Cambodian community - they hold a festival each year , it is educational and the food is absolutely delicious.
Thank you for sharing a glimpse into the Cambodian community in Long Beach. I plan on going that way soon, and l will definitely go to Monoram that you went to and l also look forward to going to that very kind lady's business and making some purchases from her. I have so much respect for those who come here with little or nothing, work hard and turn their hardship into a generational blessing for their family and community.

Actually the lemon and paper is a component of the Lok Lak itself. Traditionally it'd be Kampot paper with lime. It's supposed to be the sauce you dip with the beef. Besides, it looks delicious and makes me missed Cambodia so much.

You always hear about gangs and violence in Long Beach, but the city has so much more to offer than that.

Hey Chris, I have been following you video and thanks for uploading and uplifting. Great job and appreciate what you have done for all the country that you visited. FYI, Cambodia refugee (evacuates) to US back in 1975. I was back there in Long Beach 1978 with my family and friends. Siam Reap Restaurant was one of the restaurants that have our lunch and dinner. "Queen Mary" also I had great time to tour back in 80's.

Hi Chris, I’m Paris I love the love that you have for Cambodian, I’m grown up in Long Beach too,but now I’m moved to Moreno Valley 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive from Long Beach depending on the traffic. You know what I wanted to hangout with you one of this day. Bye now.
