    That's a good one! I'd like to mention Nissa Worldwaker. She fits into the elemental theme and her ultimate is just bonkers for landfall AND elemental AND omnath AND bolt...

      Oh and what about some boardwipes killing the opponent with bolts for free?

      +Fusspilzsammler aus Leidenschaft good call! Love her ramp too, Omnath can have a large tax if he dies a few times.

      Nissa, Genesis mage? More Mana and some defense and then for -10 you can get 10 permanents for free. Imo another great add on for the deck

    Great video- have a very similar deck with Borb at the helm. Abundance is a great addition. Goes nicely with sylvan library for 3 card draws and combo's with keen sense/snake umbra. Orcish Lumberjack is nice budget addition to get those high cost creatures out on the field asap. Ramunap excavator was my latest addition along with a Yavimaya Hallow, which your other recent video reminded me I needed to add, so big thanks. Love your vids.

      I actually cut exoskeleton because it was too slow. The rest of my deck attacks the targets life so it's a nonbo, and i go from needing 2 or 3 bolts to needing 4

    One nice combo I love doing is Greater good (insanely powerful sac outlet), with Phytotitan. You can sac him draw 7 cards, discard 3, lightning bolt something/someone, then he comes back next turn to do it again with!!! I also love elemental bond as well. Draw cards off of all those fun elemental you bring out there!! Overall though, Omnath is a lot of fun, and glad to see you made a video about it. Thanks!!

    This deck needs warstorm surge and where the ancients tread

  • @snakeyman5560
    @snakeyman5560 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I focus on his landfall more than the elemental aspect, if I do have any elemental cards its usually because they are really good or consistently output tokens. I prefer to put alot of lands out and then return them to my hand or play them out of my graveyard should a land go to my graveyard.
    Here are the cards I recommend. Burgeoning, Horn of Greed, Warstorm surge, Where ancients Tread, Elemental bond, Collosal Majesty and Slab Hammer are REALLY good to run in this deck if you're ever looking to start an omnath deck. (Which I recommend.) If you run sylvan library and dont like that you're losing health to sylvan library then run Retreat to Kazandu and Grazing Gladehart with something to increase the maximum amount of lands you can play per turn and you'll be gaining as much health as you lose assuming you play 2 lands per turn and you could also add mana bond.
    But storm cauldron combined with Lotus cobra make the deck plus Zendikar Roil. Zendikar Roil and elemental bond are good all around in general.
    And last but not least, burgeoning plus ghost town.
    And Myriad landscape is awesome too.
    It's a land in of itself and it gives u 2 lands in addition to itself when you sac it.
    I dont like borborygmos because there isnt enough reliable graveyard recursion because I wanna have some other creatures in my deck.

    Omnath does the damage so, Keen sense and snake umbra work with it.

  • @sympathism
    @sympathism 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh not to mention, consider regal force, cloudthresher and burgeoning. Heck, even akoum hellkite, akoum stonewaker and tunneling geopede do amazing work by doing constant chip damage to lower everyones life totals without attracting too much attention. Zhur-taa druid does that too.
    Also, undiscovered paradise is an amazing land for landfall shenanigans.

  • @theshekelincarnate3700

    I know this isnt sticking to the whole tribal theme people like with Omnath, but I would recommend Hamletback Goliath because "Whenever another creature enters the battlefield, you may put X +1/+1 counters on Hamletback Goliath, where X is that creature's power. This plus omnath and Forrays I can get a 40+ Hamlet back on the turn I bring him out. Another memetastic thing is the Ult on Nissa, Worldmaker. "Search your library for any number of basic land cards, put them onto the battlfield, then shuffle your library. Those lands become 4/4 Elemental creatures with trample. They are still lands. Add impact tremors and you win the game basically. I love my Omnath deck.

    I play omnath as a token deck, none of the recycle shinanigans. Cool though I'll think about adding one.
    Anyhow some cards for token omnath decks that this vid left out:
    An oldy but a goody - Keldon Warlord
    Sky shroud ranger + Quirion Ranger
    Black blade Reforged
    Boundless realms
    War storm surge
    Seer's Sundial + Garruk's Packleader
    Nissa, Worldwaker
    For sheer value - Thunderblust
    Fatal Frenzy
    Fungal Sprouting
    And many more... If your intrested just reply to this saying you are.

    I built Omnath a little weird. While I do have cards that help swarm out Elementals, I also have group hug aspects such as Font of Mythos, Ghirapur Orrery, Rites of Flourishing, Mana Flare, Temple Bell, Veteran Explorer
    Then I added sac effects such as Evolutionary Leap, Altar of Dementia, Ashnod's Altar, and Scorched Rusalka to get the Elementals to die and give benefits

    • @gentlemenbastex7424

    I was wondering why Ramunap Excavator didn't make it to the list. Then I saw the date. Omnath is a really fun deck to play, and I think it has been one of my strongest builds I've ever made. With creatures like Wood Elves or similar, and Eldritch evolutioning to a Purphoros, oh man, Purphoros in this deck is total destruction!

  • @pipsdontlie3031
    @pipsdontlie3031 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now that the Amonkhet Block is out, some crazy cards would be Harvest Season (it just went from a crazy ramp spell to win the game possibly for 3 mana), and Ramunap Excavator. Fetch Lands became absolutely insane, rather than just really good and this guy has synergy with Titania, allowing you to replay all of those sac lands that you put in just to make her a silly card.

  • @TheReindj
    @TheReindj 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey! great vid! Ive added boundless realms to my deck along with Parallel Lives. Landing a minimum of 14 (with PL on the board) 5/5 Angry Beans is fantastic. Very discouraging to any filthy board wipes ;)

  • @StrongButAwkward
    @StrongButAwkward 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've had a elemental tribal Omnath for a little while now; I think you constructed your deck in a way that essentially combines the two styles of play I created in my Omnath and Titania decks separately. Omnath being more focused on elemental tribe and having extremely high land and land fall counts as well as some combo like interactions; whereas Titania is just extremely aggressive aggro that ideally plays and sacs lands at whatever rate best fits the current game. Still probably several games from thinking about editing it.
    tappedout.net/mtg-decks/angry-omnonomnom/
    tappedout.net/mtg-decks/02-04-16-entmoot/
    If you run storm cauldron you really gotta run Mana Bond imo. Being able to tap out, bounce all your lands and them play them all again at the end of the turn is bonkers and worth whatever you end up pitching to do it.

  • @KageAkarui
    @KageAkarui 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    A game winning combo for this deck would be to have Omnath Fucking Pissed, Titania, Protector of Argoth, Sylvan Safekeeper, and Omnom out. Maybe a Doubling Cube and/or Zendikar Resurgence for good measure. And a Liege of the Tangle, Early Harvest, Traverse the Outlands and Splendid Reclamation in your hand and a Genesis and Brawn in your graveyard and we'll say your running 35 lands with only 7 or 8 on the field. Tap it all for double from Zendikar Resurgence and use 3 for Early Harvest and tap again. Then pay 3 for Doubling Cube if you have it. That's 44 - 52 mana saved up on Omnath, Locus of Mana minus whatever is red. Play Traverse the Outlands and dive for the rest of your lands. Omnath, Locus of Rage kicks with 27 - 28 5/5 elementals. Then play Liege of the Tangle to turn all 35 lands into 8/8 elementals. Use Sylvan Safekeeper to sack your 8/8 land elementals to kick off Titania and Omnath. Titania makes you 35 5/3 elementals and Omnath let's you deal 3 damage 35 times. If anyone is still alive after that then play Splendid Reclamation to bring all 35 lands back onto the field making another wave of 35 5/5 elementals. If you have Acetisism or maybe Archtype of Endurance out then they can't target Omnath directly without removing hexproof first which very few things do and they can't risk a board wipe because Omnath would still trigger. So unless they have mass exile or something like a polymorphics jest they're screwed come your next turn. Or if you have a Mycoloth in hand then you could just play that and devour everything kicking Omnath one last time.

    How is Phytotitan not in this deck?

  • @Boyo2147
    @Boyo2147 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks! I've been thinking about building Omnath, Locus of Rage for a little while now, but I had felt like I didn't quite have the vision for the deck the way I had it with a few of my other decks. While I understood it would be crazy heavy into land shenanigans, I think I have a better idea of what that might look like now, so thanks a lot!
    I saw that you suggested quite a few effects where you could play multiple lands each turn (Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Oracle of Mul Daya, and Mina and Denn Wildborn to name a few). If I had the budget for them, would you recommend that I use all of them, or should I limit myself to a few of them since I may not have multiple land cards in hand very often? Obviously I'll have to play around with it in whatever my specific list turns out to be, but if you could provide me with some insight to get me started that would be great!

    • @JumboCommander
      @JumboCommander  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      In landfall heavy decks I have no problem running the five strongest Oracle, Azusa, Mina and Denn, Burgeoning, and Exploration. I run this combo in my Hazezon Tamar deck and my Borborygmos deck. Just make sure your landcount is above 40 and you have ways to refill your hand like wheel effects. Things like land tax, bounce lands, life from the loam, crucible or worlds, all help. I have gotten stalled on just mana and ramp effects before so it is important to have mana sinks in your deck and tweak the balance. For example I added Kamal, Fist of Krosa to a deck recently. I think it's just an OK card BUT it is a protection against opposing board wipes (turn my opponents lands into creatures) and with a lot of lands you can just win the game with one card. Those are the TYPES of cards that can save a land heavy draw are really critical. I know this is rambling but I also like Tireless Tracker a lot since I recently added that. Good luck building.

    • @Boyo2147
      @Boyo2147 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, that helps out quite a lot! I think I had the poor mindset of "Well, what if I don't have enough lands in hand?" instead of "How can I make sure that I constantly have lands in hand?". I also arrived at the conclusion that with the amount that I'd like to see lands in hand and with all of my searching for lands, over 40 lands (I went with 42) is definitely the right plan. I also have really liked Tireless Tracker, and I am very excited to see the crazy amount of clues it will yield. Thanks for the help!

    • @JumboCommander
      @JumboCommander  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Shamanic Revelation is great card draw for being like 10 cents but I prefer the other two because they require less to refill your hand. Revelation gives you the most advantage when you are already winning but you can't refill after a board wipe :(

    Omnath seems a really fun commander but i have a question, while we are in the g/r color what you think about warewolf commander?

    • @JumboCommander
      @JumboCommander  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ulrich has great flavor and that would be the only reason why I would use him as a werewolf commander. Werewolves are so cool ... but they are so problematic in commander. There are so many spells in our format that wolves are too difficult to flip to their more powerful wolf side. Ruric Thar and Xenagos the god have been pretty OK werewolf commanders in the past. In my opinion the best solution is to see if you playgroup will let Immerwolf be your commander even though he is not legendary. That is the ability that the deck needs.

      You can cut over $100 with just two cards -- crucible of worlds ($58) and wheel of fortune ($47). Wheel can be easily replaced but crucible is a unique effect. Obviously a single card is not going to make or break this deck. There are a lot of $15-$20 cards in here too that can be easily substituted for a more budget build.

      Great suggestion. I have it listed as an option on tapped out but it should have gotten a shout out on the video. I have it connected to Valacut in my mind but you don't need to go for that modern combo, it's just a good card and a great suggestion.

    I check out commander deck techs just about every day. Yours are a no contest favorite. But compliments don't help your content, so why are your deck techs easily better than others? Ill answer this using this omnath deck:
    1. You include things in a broad manner- range of cards that answer all the built in strategies of the commander. Elemental tribal/landfall/land sac/land recursion/etc.
    2. In those range of cards, you cover several player archetypes- the cards listed for each strategy offer options for the janky player, competitive player, budget player, combo player, etc
    3. Articulate, accurate, and confident description and explanation- tempt with vengeance and spawnwrithe section of this video is a decent example. You don't say "uh","um", or the like, I've not heard you use a ruling of card interactions incorrectly(this section of the video doesn't have difficult interaction rulings that exemplify this however), several key synergies are brought up, and even budget jank fun is shown with spawnwrithe; all of these taking up a comfortable amount of time to explain and a comfortable amount of explanation lull time for the listener to have a couple other brief card synergies and benefits thought.
    4. Length- you dont list all the cards of A deck and you don't list all the good cards available to each strategy- the tech is open-ended with both the strategy and the deck, allowing for the listener's creativity to still flourish and brewing to still happen. You don't list a deck, which would force the listener to see all the cards you chose in a deck, even the number of basics, number of creatures, etc. Those videos seem only to appeal to those who have trouble brewing and find deck stats useful. With the open ended tech, you accomplish inspiration. You don't show what the deck is, you show what it can be and trigger the listener to mentally explore what it COULD be.
    5. Positive attitude- the tech is 90% professional, not explaining your personal opinion and keeping the tech fact and interaction based, but in the professional presentation, you contribute an authentic excitement and upbeat vibe for the deck. During the 10% where its opinion and flavor based(spawnwrithe for example), your explain yourself well while letting out just the right amount of your personality (99% of listeners could at least tolerate if not enjoy the small piece of your personality you demonstrated)

    • @JumboCommander
      @JumboCommander  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This deck as it is built on TappedOut (tappedout.net/mtg-decks/omnath-is-disgruntled/) is $450. This deck has some high rolling cards. It has 5 that are $20 or more. Wheel of Fortune ($44), Life from the Loam ($20), Crucible of Worlds ($63), Azusa Lost But Seeking ($28), and Oracle of Mul Daya ($20). These can be replaced especially if you shift away from a land focus and onto another strategy. There are also a bunch of $10 cards that are good but not really critical. Good luck.

      +Pr0phet the only jeleva deck I have ever played against was super broken and kinda destroyed me ... I built her myself and then couldn't win a game or hit any relevant spells EVER. I got frustrated and tore the details k apart. I owe Jeleva a real look! I'm flattered that I'm your favorite at deck-tech-er, cheers!

    • @shhwerealmostthere
      @shhwerealmostthere 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been reading the deck is broken. I know there's a couple good cards worth pulling, I think? Shame I just dropped 45 on the pre con.
      Yeah I give credit where it's due, you're way of describing the game combos and cards makes it very easy to understand synergy. Which I learned watching your videos lol
      Thanks for everything! Stay awesome!

    • @JumboCommander
      @JumboCommander  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You did get a true-name nemesis in that precon so that's some value! The best Jeleva decks needed a lot of tinkering. I'll add it to my brewing list. Again, thanks for the kind words.

  • @nicholasjensen1077
    @nicholasjensen1077 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think a hilarious card you omitted is grafted exoskeleton. Sure it's slow, but if you sacrifice 4 elementals with it on omnath you just killed a player. Gratuitous Violence makes it just two. Damage doublers like the above are obviously a little risky, but some are just too powerful to omit.

    • @gentlemenbastex7424
      @gentlemenbastex7424 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically it's less elemental's to just go for what remaining life they have from all the chip damage, plus you don't have to spend 6 mana to get it online.

      Jumbo Commander
      I build him like a talrand sky summoner deck (LOTS of draw and counterspells) but with janky awaken cards, cool lands like darksteel citadel/drownyard temple, and boardwipes that target nonland permanents like planar cleansing. Very fun but very unforgiving if you don't leave counter mana up for your opponents removal.

      @JumboCommander  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can cut over $100 from my tapped out list just by trimming Crucible of Worlds and Wheel of Fortune. Unfortunately there are a lot of 10-20 cards. I think that Oracle of Mul Daya and Exploration and Life From the Loam and Fetchlands are so good in this deck. I think the price can be reasonable but never truly budget.

    I lost the other day. I got more than 20 creatures and token creatures combines. 5/5 elemental and 4/4 beast and still lost. LOL. No likelink and cannot block flying creatures. The only flyer I cast was a Hydra that have reach and did not survive the next turn. I included "Akromas Memorial" an artifact that gives me haste, flying etc. that help me last time around. But this time, I was able to draw it. My life is at 17, my opponent before my turn has 2 except his got 3 Dragons and his turn. Hit me with 20 total. Goodnight Omnath it was a pleasure.

      Its very fun playing Omnath. I mulligan up to 4 cards with only 1 land. I ended up with 19 lands. I cast "Abundance and Rites of Flourishing" to my deck, that help me ramp lands. Someone has to choose w/c spell to destroy or rid off. They chose "Rites of Flourishing". Like you suggested I included "Tornado Elemental and Sandwurm Convergence". I also included a double face card "Heaven//Earth". I wasn't able to draw them. If I had it would help. Now its becoming a hate deck of my group. They don't know I included infect on it. I just haven't draw and play it yet. Thanks again. I may have lost, but it feels I won. I got a very good deck.

    • @kapiatgatas
      @kapiatgatas 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I finished a "Hapatra deck and The Scorpion God deck" base on your philosophy. I have not played it yet. I bought a new set of -1/-1 dice just for the decks. In my group we always yell at each other or scolded each other like kids, because of the wrong counters and what it applies to. All of it is kids fun, without our girlfriends and wives around.
      A different topic, I hope I'm not being rude. Where do you buy your cards or supplies? Are we allowed to advertise or comment what online stores are good and not? I saw your tappeout. It tells what it cost on 2 stores and 1 digital. What's your go-to store, no matter the cost? I don't have any. But I have 4 stores that I browse and look for deals and compare. I'm thinking to buy the "Iconic Masters booster box". Is it a good investment? Or buy 2 booster box for less? Thankyou again.

    I know a lot of people will probably flame me for this...so here it is. I honestly feel that both versions of Omnath and some other select commanders are nothing short of unoriginal deck ideas. I feel they require almost no creativity or any skill beyond a beginner to play. I am not just pointing out Omnath here, but he definitely epitomizes the aforementioned statement. I apologize if that offends anyone, that is not the intent. He is a solid commander for beginners or for anyone who just likes decks that can more or less pilot themselves. Which is fine if that is what you like. I personally enjoy decks that require a bit more complex gameplay.
