Spanish 21 at the casinos around me let you double down twice so if you double a 8 and get a 2 or 3 you can match your 2 bets again on that hand for another card!

Only way to overcome it is to go play. Dealers and others at the table are helpful when it comes to table manners etc. but, unless you’re filthy rich, I wouldn’t test the waters on how well you can control your gambling.
