I'm having a really tough time figuring out if my cat has bronchitis or something else. My vet has been unable to diagnose her. The symptoms include very occasional gagging but only once, wheezing after gagging, occasional loss of appetite and desire to drink, sleeping a lot more than usual, loss of voice / ability to meow. She typically wants to eat, and when she's up and about, she has energy. But she sleeps more than she has in the past. She had asthma but only very mild. Very seldom. She started very occasionally gagging which became more frequent which was followed by lethargy and a not eating or drinking, but wanting to. At first I thought it was something with her gastrointestinal tract, but after a week of anti-biotics and anti-nausea, this hasn't resolved the problem entirely.
X-rays did confirm mild asthma. I'm not sure if I should just put her on an inhaler and treat her for bronchitis or if it could be something else. Anything I can do to restore my cat's happiness and health, I'll do. I'm just at a loss.
