I had a 3 level lower lumbar disc replacements on May 7 by Dr Johnson of Idaho Falls ID. On may 7 before surgery i entered the Idaho Falls community relying heavily on my walker in intolerable pain in my legs my nerves compressed and damaged. I decided maybe I could take two more weeks. As the Dr said I was to the point where the quality of life “was not worth living any more”. My insurance had already approved a fusion in CA where I live. Research led me to artificial discs. 4 hours after my surgery, I sold straight and walked without that hell pain. Truly life saving for me and a miracle. It was worth every penny and I was lucky enough to have a retirement account. I just did an hour on the treadmill. Better every day. If you need it don’t wait, just do it. Feel free to contact me.
I love the video, very informative but still fairly new and hard to find the right surgeon. So how do I locate a good artificial disk surgeon in certain areas of the US? doing a local search doesn't necessarily mean the doctor is experienced.
Insurance would only approve a fusion for my L5/S1. I was bone on bone at age 40. I fought with insurance for 2.5 years before having my artificial disc inserted in my spine a year and a half ago. I’m 44 now and a very active man. I coach high school wrestling, split wood, wakeboard, ride horses, run tractors, etc. Dr Paul Schwaegler changed my life for the better and the stupid insurance companies still won’t cover this better alternative. I’m lucky because I can afford this and that is the crime. There are probably thousands of people who could benefit from this surgery. The recovery is half of that of a fusion!
I see a lot of advertisements like this one but I am not able to get any of these people on the telephone. I haven't spoken with anyone regarding the expense of all this. Do you know of anyone in South Carolina who does this procedure. The last doctor? that I saw about this told me that it was arthritis. Now I have arthritis in several areas of my body and arthritis is basically just a dull pain.....constantly but with what I have I can remove all the pain simply lie down on the floor and rotate my pelvis forward and the pain goes away but my arthritis stays. So would you believe a doctor that doesn't know how to read an x-ray? I've got a situation here where I can find an arthropod who knows more about this than I do! It's damn frustrating I can tell you. The only relief I get is the medication, which I have to take 3 times a day or lying down and stretching, man I can barely walk. I want to play some golf. I think my age may have something to do with it tho but they won't tell you that. I will be seventy-nine in April and I'd love to play some more golf, I started when I was ten years old and I've played a lot since then. Please comment if you care too.
The FDA and insurance companies are slow walking these guys from the US becoming a leader in disc replacement. I couldn't wait anymore, Germany 2 level lp-esp in the house best decision of my life!
