My Ferrari GTC4Lusso Has a Novitec Switchtronic Exhaust!

- I bought my Ferrari GTC4Lusso to enjoy the sound of the V12, but between the engine and a heavenly exhaust note lies an exhaust valve control... The solution to this, fit a Novitec Switchtronic kit to let it sing!
Join me with the Lusso back in the UK from the Where's Shmee tour to head to Duke of London where the Switchtronic is installed. The process involves removing some components to position and wire the control box behind the bumper with two choices for the switch that then operates it either by a remote fob, or a cigarette socket button.
The Ferrari GTC4Lusso has a 6.3l NA V12, one of the greatest sounding engines of all time and one of the fundamental reasons I chose to buy the car. However, after the FF, the newer car is positioned more as a GT than before and that includes the exhaust valves been more intrusive. While Novitec also offer full exhaust systems that can make it sound like a V12 F1 car, as it's my daily driver the ability to keep it normal was also very important to me.

There isn't much that sounds better than a full Novitec exhaust on a V12 Ferrari, however it's also my daily driver and I wanted to find a balance in the middle.
@@Shmee150 yeah but they do a valved system though right?
Yes they do offer a few options including a valve controlled system but in my garage I'm lucky to have a few cars of various volumes and I wanted to keep this with the original system

One of those behind the scenes type videos that helps us all live vicariously through your experiences with your amazing car collection, love it! Hopefully you find it in your schedule to be able to take all the cars to one track and just make a video of best timed lap in each, no commentary in the lap, just full on fastest time. Maybe even in the same vein as rendezvous from 1976 with the camera close to the road and the pure sound of the engine. As always, hardest automotive person on TH-cam, keep up the cracking work 👍🏻

Love it, sounds beautiful. did you look at the mod DMS did? I think it was on the LussoT, but amongst other things I believe they managed to recalibrate the valves so that with the mannetino in sport they stayed open and with it in comfort they stayed closed.

Love this Tim, V12 at its finest. If this is your daily, I feel that your AMG GTR will be a bit underused. To help out, I am happy to put some heat in the tyres for you every so often, keep it clean etc, bung me the keys and I can get started

I think you should fit a full performance exhaust system Tim. You will still have the valve controller to soften it in long journeys. V12 engines won't be around for much longer. So rather make the most of that glorious V12 sound.

I think the reason Ferrari stopped the door from opening any further is to allow you to actually hold the door and close it. Otherwise it might be too far of a reach for most people as well as it prevents the door from opening up on to camber roads and hitting the pavement/ other cars.

The pipes are moving while driving so they need a little space and cannot be directly connected to the visible trim pipes
For the window situation: my car has a comfort entry (by tapping the unlock button twice) which will lower the window when opening the door. Maybe the Lusso has something similar to this as well?
Anyway to integrate the button(s) into the cars control systems? Any spare slots where other buttons should be?

Did you miss the part where he said he can close the valves with a remote control, which makes it just as quiet as stock. (Actually quieter on average because when the values are closed, they can't be opened unless you push the button.)
Tim do you have any information about the front bumper on the Lusso being repainted in the past? I’ve noticed for a while that the front bumper’s colour doesn’t match with the fender

You'd think Duke of London could throw a little more paint on the exterior? It looks like a place that would part out that car and make it disappear.
