  • Piezo Pickup for Kalimba is it worth to buy?
    Or purchasing MIC is better option?
    It's very personal preferences topic. Watch and decide your self :D

    칼림바 픽업은 과연 구매할 가치가 있을까요?
    아니면 마이크를 사는게 더 나은 옵션일까요?
    굉장히 개인취향을 타는 주제입니다. 직접 보고 결정하세요! :D

    Wow. This is actually the video I needed. I like how you experimented to see in which way it can be used best and how the sounds would sound in different setups.

    I definitely use pickups, just because I use my kalimba for live shows and sit 2m away from the PA. With a microphone it would be a hell of feedback 😂

    Very surprised because I've heard mostly cheap sounds from piezo, but these sound not only well rounded, but also the piezo pickups sound cleaner because you hear much less of the finger flicking sound than through the mic :)
    I'll be ordering a pair and see what happens when you run the kalimba sound through reverb and pingpong delay :)

      I can't imagine that how it would be with delays! Can I look forward your review of delay sound?

    hi good job on the review! can you make a video showing how you connected 3 piezo microphones into 1? thanks in advance

      Hello Francis! You can easily find instruction video of connecting multi-piezo pickups on youtube. :)
      And here is the mass production version of multi-piezo that I used on footage. amzn.to/2XWfed6

    I think maybe a resonance post as a violin would to tranfer vibration from the underside of the saddle to the back. Good luck.

    I see for hollow, seeting piezo on upper back portion sounds louder. Will this apply on flatboard type kalimbas too? thanks

    • @MrKalimba
      @MrKalimba  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I rather put that on back side, I found that side is much softer to hear in my opinion. But just give it a shot any spot and find your favourites!

    Surprisingly, the sound of piezo is natural. I will try to put three inside.

  • @xxtobsinioxx
    @xxtobsinioxx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think it might be possible to attach them inside and to lead them out just through a small hole?

    • @MrKalimba
      @MrKalimba  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to do that while its building. Cannot be done unless you saw that to open it up.

    what do you mean by smart phone? u using the ohine mic or using piezo to phone?

    • @MrKalimba
      @MrKalimba  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I record 1 time each on Mobile phone MIC (mobile phone video record), Condenser MIC (put MIC at kalimba), and Piezo pickup separately(Piezo attached and directly connected to PC microphone port).

      Nope. All Adobe software is not free except Acrobat reader. You have to pay some amount for every months. If you are looking for free audio recording software, try Audacity.

    It likely would sound even better if you could open the cabinet and put them directly under the bridge.
