just a recommendation, lock your host pc to whatever fps you configured the stream. it'll be the smoothest and won't skip any frames. use rivatuner for the best results. you can also lock your steamDeck's TDP to 3 Watts so you're forcing it to use as little as possible. Thank you for the guide Santiago much love!
thank you santiago; but does this mean that every time i want to play on the steam deck to my pc, i have to manually set the resolution and scale? is there no way to set that automatically?
Hey! I do it to match the pixels 1:1, but you don't need to if you don't want to, haven't tried to automate that yet, will let you know if I find a way :)
This doesn't work for me, I always get the message "Slow connection to PC please reduce your bitrate" even if the bitrate on the lowest and with the lowest resolution, by the way I am using the TP Link Archer AX12 Wifi 6 Router, I have searched for solutions online and found none, and streaming to my Steam Deck from my PC is the reason I went to buy this router, I'm just confused, don't know what else to do. I wonder how your are able to stream well like this.
I try steamlink before and it terrible. I think it because of my crappy router but i try this today and it amazing. Both desktop and my ally is on 5ghz wifi . No birate and fps drop . Love it so much
Can I do this and also connect the steam deck to a different monitor and play? I also have a wheel to play racing games and can this being dock be able to send the wheel inputs to the main computer?
In that case it would be better to use a dock with an HDMI connector and plug it in directly to the monitor, not sure about the wheel compatibility though
@@SantiagoSantiago I was able to try it and I play American truck simulator but the moonlight/sunshine only has the Xbox and PlayStation controller. I searched that maybe using virtualHere ( a usb server ) to connect the wheel on the deck and use it on the main pc.
Hello dear santi . Can this sunshine/moonlight method be a solution for people like me having a low end gpu (like 1050ti) to play AAA games like Hagwarts legacy in 720 with High preset and ~60fps and play it on mobile screen smoothly???(rather than at the pc itself 1080 low 30fps on monitor screen😅)
@@SantiagoSantiago oh i meant if i use the program does it change my pcs res? And if so does it changd it back when im done streaming? Saw on reddit that people said that it changes ur res everytime u stream and dosnt restore it back to default once stream is done
For me it stays the same once I finish streaming, the thing is, I always change the resolution when I get into the PC to get it to fit to the smaller screen
@@SantiagoSantiago do you mean u connect to the pc with moonlight and change the res in windows? does moonlight/sunshine not do that by itself? if not what res should i use?
great video thanks!!! it works great but I noticed in some games the fps drops, doesnt drop on the host pc but drops on the steam deck. bitrate its on 50mbps, do you think its that?
*You can also do this to play PS5 and PS4 on Deck:* th-cam.com/video/VgaP28OCtXA/w-d-xo.html
Can i do this on phone the ps remote oficial suck
moonlight app is no longer on steam deck linux app store...what do i do now????

Didn't expect this method to be so good. Thank you Santiago!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for your work man, for doing so many useful videos for our great steam deck community. Thanks and best of luck!
Thank you very much!
Thanks a lot Santiago !
Hi from Paris
Lovely, thanks for the video!
Gracias papish. Un lujo.
Thank you!
Moonlight has a Switch version, that's great.
I had to oc the cpu for it to run well on Switch, but works great!
Please do 4070ti videos I got a 4070ti and i5 14500 it’s perfect midrange. And steam deck
I will consider it, the 4070 ti is a bit too high end for my channel lol
Yea that isn't mid range...
Good combo tho, prefer a super tho
SeemsGood!

So basically you need your main pc to be turned on in order to play non steam games ?
Thanks
How would this work with an ultra wide monitor? Would the screen mirror to the deck at 21:9 or would it change?
Just by setting the resolution to 1280x800 or 1920x1200 in your desktop and in-game, it will look correct on your Deck 💪
@@SantiagoSantiago ok thank you! Keep up the great content:)
Is starting the application what launches the server on local host or is the server always running?
As long as Sunshine is running, it will be available to access from Moonlight, to stop the server, close Sunshine on the host PC

When sleep deck goes to sleep my game on pc freezes, and some times the controls don't work with steamdeck being only accepting trackpads

Great video as always. HELLO EVERYONE!
Hey, thanks!
Can I turn off the monitor and go back to my seat?
Can you test out the Ghost Recon games?
Soon :)
yea but the steam community templates don't work, like the main selling point of the deck ffs
Works to play game pass games instaled on pc?
Funciona para poder jugar juegos de gamepass que estan instalados en la pc?
Si, vas a ver la pantalla de tu pc en otro dispositivo, asi que mientras la pc que es host lo corra, va a funcionar 💪
What was the battery life using moonlight?
4-5 hours
@@SantiagoSantiago thanks for the reply..... Seems kind of short tho
@@Elhabad_ibn_youssef 4-5 hours compared to playing locally on the steam deck is like 1-2 hours, is a lot better

Hey! Yeah it's a good idea so you can play at a lower resolution on a smaller screen, but don't expect 60 on new games
Hey, is this better than using the Steam Remote play Feature?
yes
In my opinion it's much better than Steam's method
@@SantiagoSantiago cool, thanks!
remote play is kind of what i got my legion go for so i definitely have to check this out
Hello does sunshine restore the pcs hz and res one streaming is done?

Might be a wifi thing, try 40mbps and good luck!
sd lcd is not good for moonlight?
It's completely fine, I'm using a Deck LCD in this video
Steam deck AS HOST work? Streaming steam deck to smartphone
Hey! Get Sunshine from here for Arch github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine/releases/tag/v0.23.1 that will allow you to use the deck as the host
@@SantiagoSantiago thanks you Very much
Yessir, go to the discover store, get sunshine and set it up like at the start of the video, you should be good
Is this better than steam remote play?
In my opinion it's better than Steam's, both quality and latency
@@SantiagoSantiago ofc im test for 2 months and is the best, in and out
Can i use on the Phone?
Yes, same method on host PC, but download moonlight from any of the app stores, I recommend connecting a bluetooth gamepad, touch controls suck 😂
