    Ping really does just seem to do things because it works, not just for marketing. I like the clean look of that club. I need a 3 wood not a driver, so I’ll be trying them out for sure. Lovely review boys!

    So enjoy your equipment reviews Mark. The thoroughness and honesty are what set you apart and I/we really appreciate that. Props to Dan as well. The two of you are like peanut butter and jelly together.......(perfect). Cannot wait for the next. Gotta love PING

    I was in work last night so only got to watch this video today. This video is why Mark is so much better at reviews than other youtubers. His explanations into the tech and how it effects the club is second to none and he makes it understandable to a numpty like myself.
    Keep up the good work!

      I used the G2 for over 10 years. Great club. Moved to the new Ping G a couple of years ago. Same distance when hit well but the G is much more forgiving.

    Respect as always. Still beating that drum regarding “strike is king”, and that when it comes to shot shaping, it really is all about the player. Glad you’re sticking at it because it’s no doubt tiresome at times and you probably feel like you’re banging your head off a brick wall. Just wish other pros and manufacturers would starting admitting this also. It’s a bitter pill for many to swallow, but facts don’t care about your feelings peoples. Admirable honesty and impartiality as always, Crossfield.

    I like the idea of the 3 set movable weight slots, but there has to be something to cover up the screw holes that aren't being used. I see, water, dirt and grass for days getting stuck in those screw holes.

    • @kourt2469
      @kourt2469 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Veeg if you’re getting dirt and grass into the backside, slightly elevated part of a driver, i think you might be using it wrong hahaha.

      I agree. The taylormade I have has all those holes. I’ve taken them all out as I’ve become older (not legal I’ve read). But I do have cleaning to do after rounds. As long as I don’t eat with the thing...

    I have been hitting a M6, I just happened try the G410 plus. The G410 is hotter and much more forgiving. My drives were 15-18 yards longer than the M6. I walked out of the golf shop as a proud owner of the 410 plus. My longest drive in the booth 281 yds. With consistent carry of 240-250.

    I have the Ping G400 and I thought the turbulators were going to be a visual issue when I first hit it, just like Dan but....the on course results have more than made up for any visual issue. Now all I see is my ball going on line with my target....😍 my Ping driver!!

  • @glennpryor1611
    @glennpryor1611 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seriously looking at Ping drivers. I’m still not convinced on moveable weights for handicap golfers. The weight marginally shifts the CG. Its always face/path and where the bottom of the swing is. The sound through the vid sounds amazing and I love the subtlety of the neck. Top notch vid as always!

  • @tonyaguirre2365
    @tonyaguirre2365 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think it’s amazing that you have such a hyper sensitivity to such minuscule changes in CG but have no change in sensation in shaft weight or flex. Just interesting to me.

    • @rayblackman8069
      @rayblackman8069 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's not a lot of difference swinging a 60 or 70g shaft in the same flex, but shaft flex sensitivity depends on swing speed and whether you've fully released at impact with the ball, my crap swing means I'm still loading and bending the shaft on impact, a regular shaft see's my ball spiralling off right with the shaft bent 4" & face wide open, hence for me to hit anything straight means I play x stiff with a very stiff tip, although this costs me a few yards, my playing partner hits it same swingspeed as me but is fully released at impact and can hit any shaft, but prefers a regular shaft flex hitting 270yds carry, as he gets a few more yards with it.

    @chrismoore1387 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great point on sound being preference for everyone for difference manufacturers. I think you learn to have a certain feel/sound of a good shot as you progress. And that company’s “sound profile” becomes what a good shot is to you. So when you hit something else, a good shot just doesn’t always inspire confidence because the sound is off. And considering how different a Titleist Driver and say a PING sound that makes total sense. Like for me... I learned with a R540xd, then R7 TP superquad, then PING Rapture and now M3. Do PING and TM feel natural and “right” but others I struggle to know what I did if I base just off sound for the most part.

    Love the channel fellas, arguably some of best reviews I've seen. Keep up the great work!
    I tested out the the G410+, Mavrik Max, TM SIM, Mizuno ST200, TS2 & TS3 at a fitting y'day. The Mavrik and G410 came wildly out om top with very similar numbers offering me a staggering 55 yards more than my old driver (a RAM I was given last year when starting out). The rest I tested really did not compare, ts2 and ts3 were disappointingly inconsitent for me forgiveness-wise. SIM good but not as much distance as the aforementioned - its look personally less desirable for me.
    Decision came down to looks/feel in the end. It may have been the lighting indoors but I actually preferred the matt finsish on the G410. Helped me to align better than the gloss top of the mavrik max (and the others)
    My natural shot shape had been a fade, however with weight in neutral position on ping I hit straight or slight draws. Beautiful to see. Also went from regular to stiff shaft increasing my club head speed from 85mph to 101mph with no loss in accuracy. More to throw at it still which i'll do as I get confident.
    Review content really helped me get the most out of my fitting session, so once again thanks amd kudos for a great channel.
    Any vids on gapping between driver and 5 iron appreciated (I use AP1 718 irons atm) Also review of phantom x12 putter..?

    I liked the 3 different heads and I like the mat finish. I still question the turbulators, maybe 2 to frame up the ball would be nice.

  • @dannyc91a
    @dannyc91a 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Im kind of opposite as well with the weights
    I still have a Mizuno JPX850 driver. I put the weight back and fade setting and hit a draw, if i put it back and draw i hit a fade. but if i put it fade setting the strike just feels better off the face to me, and less twisty at impact.

  • @philgalesv650
    @philgalesv650 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Be interesting to test what dan said about leaving the weight out, maybe that will move weight forward and make it a G410lst

    • @yadthink
      @yadthink 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting idea, but eliminating 16g would reduce the swingweight to where I wouldn't be able to feel the head during the swing to get a consistent strike.

    • @barnabywild2601

      Or even try 2 weights, 1 in the back 1 in the draw or fade setting, would this create the incremental setting between full draw or fade.

    I agree with you Mark, the G400 is a better looking club than the new G410 series. I like the dragonfly look as well. The Ping version of a "sliding" (not) weight track should be useful in fitting golfers though.

  • @DougNielsen
    @DougNielsen 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @jakebishop7822
      @jakebishop7822 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      no point, I work in a golf store as a fitter and honestly the rails on callaway or tm are a bit useless, I don't think i have ever had someone hit it better with one of those set to a little bit draw bias, it is almost always all the way in draw/ fade, or neutral.
      Everything g you add to make a weighting system moves weight away from where you want it, ping made theirs as bare bones as possible because they care about making a club that performs, not a club that is marketable.
      Lets say they added the option the put the weight a little in the heel, and a little in the toe, 100% of golfers playing that club would see a performance decrease, not a large one but still a performance decrease. In return maybe 3% of golfers would actually be fit into having the weight in one of the new spots.

    I tried one out today and hit it pretty darn good. I actually think I like it better than the Taylormade M 6. The adjustment system on it is pretty smooth and works well. Seems solidly made. Very high quality construction. When Ping does something they usually do it correctly and well. This one is a winner. I will be using it tomorrow too. I just might keep this one. :) Spider Dubiel

    Solid testing and honest review without any hype about a new release of another driver on the market! I like that a lot! Question: Why should I buy that new g410 to replace my old G400 then??? Any gain through new Inventions from Ping? Will the adjustable weights save me from that sometime horrible miss to the right?!? Is it Longer, or tighter Dispersion ... Can’t see the point ping is making, as long as they make the most forgiving and playable Drivers in my eye that suit the best for my hacker swing (hcp 9.9)

    @station2station544 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just being devil's advocate, but if you point a flashlight at the wall from 1 inch away, then pull back, the focus spread of the beam widens the further back you get. This is the best analogy for MOI that I can think of. So if we take that into consideration with the moveable weights, does that mean its a bigger movement than your description at:5:00 because the "moment" is further back?. Just for conversation sake. Because I've hit this driver with the weight moved from the heel to toe and its quite difficult for me to turn over in TOE. Yes player overrides, but a significant amount of weight in the toe helps inhibit the player from overriding. But if I purchased this driver I too would leave it in the middle.

      Puring golf shaft's marketing jargon suggests that not all shaft's are made perfectly straight and round. As a result, the potential for inconsistent strikes due to shaft twisting and bending causes inconsistent strikes. Have you tested these claims?

I have the callaway rogue sub zero that I like but not as much as my ping. Is it worth upgrading this new or the g400 series worth checking out ? The money difference is noticable but is the adjustable weight worth that big a upgrade

    Been waiting for Ping to bring out an adjustable hybrid. Waiting for your review on it before I buy bruh. Is that coming soon?

    Was wondering what difference would the changeable flat lie angle make?

    You need to do a blind weight test with mid to high handycap, you might override the weights but I don’t believe I would

    Can't wait to test this in Feb :-) Just sad about the name, G410 doesn't seem to mean anything and only sounds like a small incremental change from the previous G400.

    question. Dan did that video where he changed his set up and was hitting driver 272. Has he gone away from that set up? given numbers are now more in the 257 range.

    love my 400 max but if you guys are hitting the tour stiff shaft (as I have also) do you think Id be better with the regular with my 140 ball speed?

    Love Ping for the same reasons. Waiting for LST to hit the used market 😁

    Very good dispersion, both LR and long/short.... but how much is just very good contact repeatability.... strike is king. Or a distant hope in my case 🙏

    I always thought the weights affected the closure rate of the face a lot more than they affect cg

    Try testing with a 16g weight in every port. What will happen? Higher launch, higher spin?

    Should hit it without the weight. Would that have any effect on the spin, since there is less weight in the back
