As for date ideas not involving food... a comedy club Is always a good shout. Plenty to laugh at and talk about if there’s any awkward silences 😘😘 plus he will be sat down too, so you’ll be on eye level xx

I'm not going to try and defend males and I'm not even going to lie, there are some really shallow guys out there who cant look past disabilities to the person underneath, but we are not all like that. You're a beautiful young woman and any man would be lucky to be with you. Please dont let the few bad eggs get you done. Stay strong and keep happy 💜

Thank you for the video, I have met a girl with Generalised Dystonia. There's not anything on TH-cam about it other than medical videos, so I hope you don't mind that I searched for Cerebral Palsy instead. My reasoning is that her dystonia is such that the symptoms are similar. However, instead of a lot of movement, she has a lot of rigidity. Could you maybe make a video for able-bodied people and how they can adjust to the idea of being with someone with a neurological disability? I really like her so much and her personality is brilliant, we really click. We've met up over this weekend and it was great. What wasn't great was how everyone around me treated me differently because I was around her. This sounds harsh (it isn't meant to), but she has had 15 years to get used to it (she developed her condition aged 7), but I have had no time at all. How do I let go of caring what other people think of me? I really want things to work out between me and her, but other people (the public mainly) are making me feel uncomfortable. I know that sounds selfish, but it is how it is for me. Also, how do I adjust to the reality that she has a lot of personal care needs and also just practical care needs (like helping her move around the home, doing most of the chores myself, needing to get things for her constantly, etc)? I don't have a problem with it in theory but I am intimidated because I don't want to hurt her/do something wrong and also I am worried about becoming her carer instead of her partner? She does have carers but she still would need a lot help throughout our life as she cannot walk and has very little strength in her arms too. This is just a lot for me to adjust to because we met online and I wasn't really aware of the severity of things before she stayed over this weekend. We get on so super well though and I want to do my best because I see the person she is inside and love what I see. I just am struggling with accepting how life changing being with her would be and am worried about not being able to sufficiently care for her. I do suppose I am also concerned that it could affect my social life negatively, which I am only starting to get back. So sorry for the long message but I don't know where else to turn or who to ask for help. If you have any resources, other than yourself, or forums you can recommend, that would be great. I wish you every success in life and thank you for sharing your experiences so far :)

Grace Wolstenholme Thank your Grace, that would be super kind of you! Like I said I really want things to work with her. She even talked to her neurologist about whether the conditions she has are hereditary and if she can have kids, and we got good news on that front! So, it is quite serious. I suppose I am just scared that my life will be really different from what I've been used to up until now. :)
